PROINSO Supplies 3 MW for the Largest Rooftop
Solar Installation in Latin America

Leading Global PV integrator PROINSO has supplied 3 MW
of SMA Sunny Tri Powers for the largest rooftop installation in
Latin America located in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
Commercial
development,
design
and
construction
services were provided by leading developer and partner in the
region SmartSolar.
The project installed on the roof of EMSULA, a PepsiCo
Bottling plant, will generate 4,252.4 MWh of electricity per year
and offset emissions of CO2 by nearly 1408 tons annually.
20 May 2015. PROINSO supplied 3MW of SMA Sunny Tri Power 24kW Inverters for
Honduras’ largest rooftop solar system commissioned last month. The 3MW rooftop
installation is the largest solar PV rooftop project in both Honduras and Latin America
to date.
Located in San Pedro Sula, Honduras the 3MW rooftop project covers an area of
366,000ft² and sits on top the leading PepsiCo Bottling Plant in the region, EMSULA
(Embotelladora de Sula S.A.). The facility bottles soft drinks, juices and purified water
and will offset 20% of its energy use.
The plant is expected to generate
approximately 4,252.4 MWh /year, the equivalent of planting 4.7 million trees.
EMSULA added the PV installation to improve the overall energy cost and management
of the facility in addition to making a conscious effort to fulfill social and corporate
responsibilities.
The industry leading project for the region was developed and constructed by

20 mayo 2015. PROINSO ha suministrado 3 MW de inversores SMA Sunny Tripower
24.000 para la mayor instalación sobre cubierta de América Latina hasta la fecha,
ubicada en San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
La instalación de 3 MW, que cuenta con una superficie de más de 34.000 metros
cuadrados, está ubicada en la cubierta de la planta embotelladora de PepsiCo en la
región, EMSULA (Embotelladora de Sula S.A.). El proyecto, que generará
aproximadamente 4,252.4 MWh al año, correspondiente a plantar 4.7 millón de
árboles, supondrá para la compañía un ahorro del 20% de su consumo eléctrico.
El proyecto, pionero en el país, ha sido desarrollado y construido por SmartSolar,
partner local de PROINSO en Honduras, compañía líder en proyectos residenciales,
