Try Something New!
January 1 may have come and gone but you can still resolve to try something new at the JCC. Whether

Get Involved
at the J!
The JCC is a wonderful community where people
can come together for all different reasons:
childcare, a fitness facility, the Film Festival and
so many other opportunities. All the wonderful
things that go on at the J could not be possible
without the countless hours and dedication
from lay leaders who volunteer their time and
expertise to make the J a better place.
If you are interested in volunteering, we
have many opportunities including Board
positions; Film Festival committee; Marketing,
Membership, Arts & Culture, Early Childhood
Education, and Children & Youth task forces;
and many other subcommittees for specific
areas of the J. If you would like to get involved,
please contact Denise Wolf at 299-3000 x102 or
[email protected]. We’d love to have you!

New Sports &
Wellness Director
Liz Lambert joins the J as
the Director of Sports and
Wellness. Liz comes us most
recently
from
Stanford
University where she served as
the Administrative Director of
the Center for the Advanced
Study in the Behavioral
Sciences. Prior to moving to
Palo Alto, she was the Assistant Dean for Social
Science at Harvard University. In addition
to her academic administration experience,
Liz spent eight years in coaching and athletic/
recreational administration at the U.S. Naval
Academy, Simmons College, Boston University
and Harvard University.
When visiting family in Tucson, Liz has been a
guest of the JCC over the last 13 years. “I always
felt welcomed at the TJCC and I was intrigued
when told about the vacancy in the Sports &
Wellness Department. Accepting this position is
like coming home for me. I have come home to
my passion for sports and wellness and I have
come home to family.”
A long time athlete, Liz was a varsity swimmer
and rower at Stanford University. She played
squash for ten years before turning to her new
passion for competitive Latin dance sport. One
of her first goals as the new director, is to sample
each one of the JCC’s 100 group exercise classes.
Have thoughts or concerns? Liz would love
to hear from you. Send your comments to
[email protected].
