Deputy Chairman/Group
Managing Director's message
Perutusan
Timbalan Pengerusi/
Pengarah Urusan Kumpulan
Staf Boustead yang dihargai,
Kita membuka tirai tahun baru 2015 dengan baik
sekali di mana kita mengumumkan keputusan positif
bagi tahun kewangan 2014.
Bahagian-bahagian kita terus menyumbangkan
perolehan yang berkekalan bagi tahun 2014 di mana
Kumpulan mencatatkan keuntungan sebelum cukai
sebanyak RM686 juta di atas sokongan pendapatan
sebanyak RM10.6 bilion. Bahagian Hartanah adalah
pemacu utama pertumbuhan pada tahun 2014,
diikuti oleh Bahagian Kewangan & Pelaburan serta
Farmaseutikal, manakala bahagian-bahagian lain
juga menunjukkan prestasi seperti yang dijangkakan.
Dear fellow Bousteadians,
We started 2015 on a good note as we announced positive results
for the 2014 financial year.
Our Divisions continued to deliver sustained earnings for FY2014,
which saw the Group recording a profit before tax of RM686
million on the back of a revenue of RM10.6 billion. The Property
Division was a key driver of growth in 2014, followed by Finance
& Investment and Pharmaceutical, while the other Divisions also
performed within expectations.
With this positive start, the outlook is promising for 2015 as we
continue to pursue our growth plans. Of course, we will be faced
with external pressures and a challenging domestic market
particularly for our consumer related brands and products. It is
during times like this that we must be all the more conscious of
the need to work harder and be resilient.
Dengan permulaan positif ini, prospek kelihatan baik
bagi tahun 2015 tatkala kita meneruskan rancangan
pertumbuhan kita.
positif. Kita semua boleh memainkan peranan penting
untuk membantu Kumpulan menjadi konglomerat
yang lebih kukuh.
Bousteadians, as we have in the past, must find new ways to
improve our individual contributions to the Group. It is imperative
that we demonstrate tangible results that will influence
profitability positively. Every one of you can play an important role
in helping the Group to become a stronger conglomerate.
Kumpulan sentiasa mempunyai dorongan yang kuat
untuk meningkatkan prospek perniagaan sama ada
secara organik atau bukan organik. Selaras itu, kita
telah mengumumkan cadangan pengambilalihan
50% ekuiti dalam Irat Properties Sdn. Bhd. bagi
menambah lagi kepelbagaian portfolio pelaburan
hartanah kita.
The Group has always had a strong drive to enhance our business
prospects both organically and inorganically. In line with this,
we announced the proposed acquisition of 50% equity in Irat
Properties Sdn. Bhd., which is set to add to our diverse portfolio of
property investments.
Pengambilalihan ini juga menandakan kemasukan
kita dalam sektor keselamatan jalan raya. Kita
percaya ianya membolehkan kita mengembangkan
lagi aliran perniagaan dan membina peluang-peluang
bersinergi.
The acquisition also marks our entry into the road safety
sector. We trust that this will allow us to develop our streams of
businesses further and build synergistic opportunities.
One of the Group’s key strategies for growth over the years
has been to turn around ailing businesses in order to develop
them into successful ventures. We have a strong track record
of accomplishing this in various sectors, and we are confident
that we will be able to do the same with this new business of
automated enforcement systems to improve road safety.
This will be another amazing opportunity for the Group to grow
and for us to expand our skillset.
Salah satu strategi utama Kumpulan untuk
pertumbuhan sejak dahulu lagi ialah memulihkan
perniagaan yang bermasalah dan menukarkannya
kepada perniagaan yang berjaya. Kita mempunyai
rekod prestasi yang kukuh untuk mencapainya
dalam pelbagai sektor, dan kita yakin dapat
melakukan perkara yang sama menerusi perniagaan
baharu sistem penguatkuasaan automatik ini bagi
meningkatkan keselamatan jalan raya.
Ini merupakan satu lagi peluang luar biasa untuk
Kumpulan berkembang dan untuk kita meningkatkan
set kemahiran.
Thank you.
Terima kasih.

I
n the spirit of togetherness and joy,
the Curve treated a group of senior
citizens from Rumah Charis Old
Folks Home to a special Chinese
New Year gathering in conjunction
with the mall’s festive campaign.
The event started off with a bang,
as guests were entertained by a
specially-choreographed live show
entitled 'A Homecoming Reunion
Musical.' Joyous songs, sung in
both English and Mandarin, kept
the mood upbeat as the performers
weaved a touching tale of families
coming together to celebrate the
new lunar year with their loved
ones.
Giving the event an auspicious
touch was the Kwong Ngai lion
dance troupe, who took to the stage
to deliver an exciting acrobatic lion
dance performance. The daring
leaps and other gravity-defying
stunts garnered much applause
from the impressed guests and
shoppers who had gathered.
Happy smiles were seen all around as the senior
citizens were presented with special goodie bags
as well as lucky ang pau from the Curve. The
afternoon ended on a high note with a delicious
reunion-style dinner at Ah Tuan Ee.
