we were going to have a destination wedding in Cuba. Selecting a
resort for our special day was an easy decision. We knew that Paradisus
Varadero was the only choice. It was one of the few high-end resorts
in Varadero that was kid friendly, and was located on the nicest part of
Varadero Beach.
I was a little nervous about a destination wedding because I had
been told by others that you cannot plan anything ahead of time, and
everything is done at the resort when you arrive. I am happy to report
that this was not my experience. All major happenings of our wedding
day (i.e. ceremony, dinner, reception, classic car) were discussed
through email and confirmed prior to departure.
Once we arrived in Cuba, we could not say enough about the resort
staff, and our on-site wedding planner. She truly went above and
beyond to ensure not only that our wedding day was special and ran
smoothly, but also that our entire week-long stay was memorable. She
had my best interests in mind, and wanted me to have a great wedding
experience, allowing for stress-free relaxation leading up to the days of
the wedding.
After the ceremony, there was a designated covered area for our guests
to enjoy cocktails and appetizers with a live Cuban band. This gave our
guests a chance to mingle and dance while Kevin and I took the classic
car to Varadero for some more pictures.
Dinner was at the Romantic Restaurant. Special care was taken
to decorate the restaurant for our group, and live violinists provided
background music for dinner. Dinner was delicious, and there were
so many courses we barely had room to enjoy the wedding cake!
The wedding cake turned out amazing. The cake was presented
spectacularly with blazing fire, and it tasted fantastic.
I had an amazing wedding week experience at the Paradisus Varadero.
Our family and friends still talk about the all the fun they experienced
throughout the week.
