Marker Water Coloring Artwork

Pencils, Copic Markers, Watercolor Crayons, Watercolor Pencils... so many choices and methods for
coloring images! I love the look of watercoloring and have used this way frequently to get the watercolored look without much effort. You will be amazing at how easy this is! Blending colors is a snap,
and it is a very forgiving way to color, too. The waterbrush method results in an unstructured look,
where the blender pen has a more constrained look. Try it both ways to see which you like better!
Variation: Water Brush Method
Supplies:
- Open-Image Stamps (for Coloring)
- StazOn Ink OR Permanent Black Ink
- Watercolor Paper
- Water Brush
- Complementary Water-based Markers
- Paper Towel
Step One:
Stamp images as desired on watercolor paper in StazOn ink.

Step Two:
Outline the images with the first color of marker.
Step Three:
Step Four:
Step Five:
Step Six:
Select a marker color for blending. Loosely outline the images
with the second color near the first outline.
Starting from the first line of marker, run the waterbrush from
the edge to the center in small strokes. Think of the color as
being pulled from the edges.
Step Seven:
Squeeze a bit of water from the brush. Wipe excess onto the
paper towel; the waterbrush should be moist, but not dripping.
Wipe brush on the paper towel frequently to remove color and
excess moisture.
After the image is colored, use a damp waterbrush to remove some of the color from the center of the image. Blot with a paper towel
to remove water and prevent bleeding.

Step Eight:
Color remaining images. To prevent the images from looking like they are “floating”, draw a soft line 1/8” from the outer edges with a
light gray or blue marker and blend outward with the waterbrush. If some of the color bleeds off the main image, use the waterbrush
and a paper towel to blot and remove it.
