The F4D brand is fast becoming a revered fixture in fashion and
socially conscious communities worldwide.
THE WAY FORWARD
In January 2011, Evie Evangelou launched the Fashion 4 Development (F4D)
media platform on South South News (a digital media platform working in
support of the UN Millennium Development Goals). It has since expanded to
a private sector global platform that supports the United Nations Millennium
Development Goals and “Every Woman, Every Child,” the UN Initiative
spearheaded by the Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon. The mission is to
harness the power of the fashion and beauty industries and implement creative
strategies for sustainable economic growth, wellness and independence of
communities worldwide through the expression of fashion.

First Ladies Luncheon , Vienna, Austria : The First Ladies Luncheon Europe is under
the auspices of Margit Fischer, wife of the Austrian President Heinz Fischer. It takes
place in the Marble Hall of the Belvedere Palace in Vienna. As hosted in New York
City during the General Assembly of the United Nations, Evie Evangelou – founder of
Fashion 4 Development and host of F4D’s Official Annual First Ladies Luncheon– will
bring the vibrant diplomatic spirit to Vienna. In an effort to recognize and celebrate
the unprecedented cooperation between diplomacy and fashion, leading women from
politics, business, culture, fashion and arts are participating. It serves for the greater
good of women worldwide, focusing on the female side of HIV/AIDS and highlighting
the United Nation’s initiative “Every Woman Every Child”.
F4D Launches SUSTAINIA FASHION100 in February 2014 at the Fashion Industry
Conference MAGIC in Las Vegas which gathers over 5,000 exhibitors and 60,000
attendees. Sustainia Fashion100 is an annual guide to 100 outstanding sustainable
fashion solutions, across the full value chain.
The guide gives important insight into promising solutions, initiatives and technologies at
the forefront of sustainable innovation ready to integrate within the industry. Innovations
that are designed to do more with less and influence the way fashion is produced and

F4D Partners with the Environmental Media Association ( EMA ) an organization since
1989 whose mission is to create awareness of environmental issues and solutions
through media and has the support and participation of Hollywood’s top producers,
directors and celebrity talent . The partnership brings FASHION, ENTERTAINMENT
AND DIPLOMACY together to strengthen and enhance the awareness ,reach, and
visibility to the public.
F4D’s Designer Showcase Series: In an effort to bring key industry visibility to designers
of different cultures, F4D has partnered with Fashion Group International to present
fashion from around the globe during Fashion Group International’s Ready to Wear
Trend Presentations attended twice annually by more than 600 VIP fashion industry
professionals in the Time Life Building in NYC. Designers from Indonesia, Middle East
and China have been featured in 2013 and 2014.

Launched on Feb 10th 2015 part two of the project supporting Fashion 4

brand founded by actress Rosario Dawson and fashion expert Abrima Erwiah. This
February, a month dedicated to African-American culture in the USA and Canada,

This division helps source - from various countries - raw materials and
textiles to help create brands that we can further aid and develop.
EVENT PRODUCTIONS
F4D’s event productions provide opportunities for upcoming designers
to host fashion shows and events at a cost that is more affordable to
help them create awareness about their designs.

PRESIDENT & FOUNDER
Evie Evangelou is the President & Founder of Fashion 4 Development
(F4D). She founded F4D’s global awareness campaign, and the First
Ladies & Fashion 4 Development initiative, which were inspired by her
exuberant career in the international arena of cultural diplomacy and
International Relations, specializing in Entertainment, Arts, Fashion,
Beauty, Travel &Tourism and Trade Development. Evie has extensive
experience working with the United Nations within the framework of
creating a better human understanding amongst cultures. She served
as interim Deputy Secretary General for the World Federation of
the United Nations at UN headquarters in NYC. She worked with
more than 100 UN Member States/Countries and Missions, as well
as numerous non-governmental bodies focused in education, cultural
affairs and humanitarian causes. She received appointment by Kensaku
Hogen, a former Under Secretary-General of the United Nations
Department of Public Information, as a Special Consultant for Cultural
and Educational Affairs and programs within UNDPI, one of the nine
departments comprising the United Nations Secretariat. She also was
appointed as a Special Consultant to the Special Representative of the
Secretary-General for the UN theme “Dialogue Among Civilizations” to
Co-Produce and Co-Sponsor with United Nations the UN Day Concert,
and other smaller culturally oriented projects.
Evie writes for the Style section of the Huffington Post and has been
the face of and international spokes model for beauty and fashion
enterprises and is currently represented by MAJOR MODELS one of
the top ten modeling agencies in the world. She has championed the
careers of artists from around the globe in fashion & beauty, visual
and performing arts, and has spearheaded diverse creative ventures
& projects in fashion, entertainment, the arts and philanthropic causes.
FRANCA SOZZANI
Franca Sozzani is the Global Goodwill Ambassador of Fashion 4
Development and Editor in Chief of Vogue Italia. Franca has been at
the forefront of fashion since the beginning of her career. She was
already directing legendary publications LEI since 1980 and PER LUI
since 1982 before heading up the Italian edition of VOGUE starting in
1988. She was finally appointed Editor in Chief of Conde Nast Italia
in 1994. She is a founding member of CHILD PRIORITY a non profit
organization created by Conde Nast to offer concrete study and work
opportunities for those who have none, despite being talented and
artistically gifted.
