ABOUT US
The Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art
(LAAFA) was founded in 2002. LAAFA is
known worldwide for providing exceptional
art education and has built a strong reputation
as a learning institution that provides high
quality foundational training. LAAFA was
recognized as one of the TOP 10 BEST ART
SCHOOLS IN THE WORLD by American Artist
magazine, a well-respected publication in the
art world.

In addition to classes and workshops held at
Bergamot Station, LAAFA will hold open house
events and lectures each quarter. This space
will also function as a gallery to showcase the
work of our instructors, students and alumni.

INSTRUCTORS
LAAFA instructors represent an illustrious group of emerging, professional and
accomplished talent. Each instructor has been specifically chosen because of
their experience and the immense amount of knowledge they possess in their
given disciplines. LAAFA is well known for our roster of master artists and
major studio entertainment art professionals.
LAAFA COMMUNITY
We strive to make a positive influence in our community by providing programs that
educate and enrich all artists. Throughout the year we give back to our community by:
• Granting scholarships to those interested in pursuing art education
• Provide opportunities for high school students to take affordable art classes
• Offering work-study opportunities for students who need tuition assistance
• Donating our facilities to various organizations for educational & meeting purposes
• Providing complimentary LAAFA art events
FULL-TIME PROGRAMS
VAN NUYS CAMPUS
LAAFA offers a 3-year Fine Art Atelier and Degree program as well as an
Entertainment Art degree track that offers a strong, sequential curriculum
designed to develop intellect and imagination, intensity of observation, sound
craftsmanship, initiative and creativity. We are dedicated to unmatched
one-on-one training of the individual student; whether they are a passionate
newcomer, fulfilling an artistic dream, or a seasoned professional perfecting
fundamental skills and exploring new visions. In addition, LAAFA offers full-time
students the opportunity to take complimentary extension classes and workshops
while they are in the program, based on availability.

EXTENSION PROGRAM CLASSES
& WORKSHOPS
The Extension Program offers a variety of classes for students of all levels who are
unable to attend our full-time intensive programs, but want serious art instruction
from our highly qualified instructors. Classes are conveniently offered 7 days a week to
fit your busy schedule in either our Santa Monica or Van Nuys locations.
