St. Cyril of Alexandria Troop 115,
Newest Eagle Scout
Sean Bohler is Troop 115’s latest Boy Scout to reach
the highest rank in Boy Scouting. Since 1911, there have
been only 2.15 million boys to reach the rank of Eagle
Scout and in 2011 alone, 57,000, boys reached this rank.
The title of Eagle Scout is held for Life, “Once an Eagle,
always an Eagle”
Sean’s project included planning, organizing, and overseeing the construction of seven benches. Four were for Carondelet St Joseph’s Hospital and three were for Carondelet
Heart & Vascular Institute. The benches were placed on the
rehab/walking/healing paths at each hospital to allow a place
of rest for those utilizing the paths.
Sean thanks his family, friends, Troop 115, his Scout Leaders, the St Cyril Parish community and the Knights of Columbus for their support and assistance. Troop 115 wishes to
congratulate Sean on this accomplishment! Congrats!!
Liturgical Ministers Needed
We are in need of Ushers (greeters and collection takers), Lectors (persons who proclaim the scripture readings), Sacristans (persons who set up for Mass), Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and Altar Severs at all of our weekend Masses. We try to assign ministers to the Mass of their choice so as to make serving
in these Liturgical Ministries an easy thing to do within one’s
schedule.
All ministers must complete the Compliance Training as a part
of their preparations. Sessions for training to do the particular
ministry are being planned. Please consider serving in one of
these ministries at the Mass you regularly attend. We will be
taking sign-ups in the near future.
Youth Retreat Coming to St. Cyril
Father Bruce Nieli, a Paulist priest based at St.
Patrick's Parish in Memphis, Tennessee, is returning to lead a Youth Retreat to be held on
Saturday, April 14th from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
Topics such as: “Praying like Jesus”, “Why
am I Catholic” and using various media like texting, e-mail, and Facebook to communicate
thoughts and feelings will be discussed.
Lunch, t-shirt, drinks and snacks are all included for just $15. For more information go to:

El Último Eagle Scout
Sean Bohler es el último Eagle Scout de la Tropa
115 que logra el más alto rango de los Boy Scouts.
Desde 1911, sólo ha habido 2.15 millones de chicos
que logran el rango de Eagle Scout, y sólo en el 2011,
57,000 jóvenes llegaron a este rango. El título de
Eagle Scout se conserva de por vida, “Una vez un
Águila, siempre un Águila”.
El proyecto de Sean incluyó planear, organizar y supervisar la construcción de 7 bancas. Cuatro fueron para el
Hospital San José Carondelet y 3 para el Instituto Carondelet Heart & Vascular. Las bancas fueron colocadas en las
sendas de cada hospital donde se rehabilitan/ejercitan y
caminan para otorgar un lugar de descanso para los que
los utilizan.
Sean agradece a agradece a su familia, amigos, la Tropa
115 y a sus líderes Scout, la comunidad de la Parroquia de
San Cirilo y a los Caballeros de Colón por su ayuda y apoyo. ¡¡La Tropa 115 felicita a Sean por sus logros!!

Se Necesitan Ministros de la Liturgia
Estamos necesitando acomodadores (quienes saludan
y pasan la colecta), Lectores (personas que proclaman
las lecturas de las escrituras), Sacristanes (personas
que preparan todo para la Misa), Ministros Extraordinarios de la Sagrada Comunión y Asistentes en el Altar, para todas las Misas del fin de semana. Tratamos
de asignar a los Ministros a la Misa de su preferencia
de modo de facilitarles lo más posible, el servir en estos Ministerios Litúrgicos, para que se acomoden en el programa
de cada quien.
Todos los Ministros deben completar el Entrenamiento de
Acatamiento como parte de sus preparativos. Ya se están
planeando las sesiones de entrenamiento para cada ministerio. Por favor consideren el servir en uno de estos ministerios en la Misa a la que ustedes asisten regularmente. Próximamente avisaremos sobre las inscripciones.

en la Parroquia de San Patricio en Memphis, Tennessee, volverá a guiar un Retiro Juvenil el sábado 14 de abril de 8:30 AM a 3:30 PM.

como texteando, correo electrónico, y Facebook
para comunicar sus pensamientos y sentimientos.

Teaching Positions Open (2012 –2013)

Representatives of the Pima County Health Department will be presenting two different programs promoting a healthy life style. Both programs are offered
free of charge. Sign-up sheets are on the table in the
vestibule.

Managing Ongoing Health Conditions
This is a workshop developed by Stanford University to help
adults and caregivers successfully live with ongoing health
conditions. It is a series of 6 sessions meeting once a week
from 5:30 until 8:00 PM. It will be offered in English on
Tuesdays beginning April 10th.
Este es un taller desarrollado por la Universidad Stanford para ayudar a los adultos y los cuidadores a vivir
bien con problemas actuales de salud. Es una serie de 6 sesiones que se reunirán una vez por semana de 5:30 a 8:00 PM.
El programa enseña como manejar la salud por medio de interacción, establecer objetivos y planes de acción. Este se ofrecerá en inglés los martes a partir del 10 de abril.

Walking Program
Los parroquianos que se interesen se reunirán una vez por semana por 6 semanas. Cada semana se presentará un tema
diferente sobre la salud. Después se hará una actividad en
grupo y concluirá con una caminata de 30 minutos (a su paso).
Este programa se ofrecerá en inglés y español. La serie en
inglés se ofrecerá en ambos los martes a partir del 10 de abril,
y los jueves empezando el 12 de abril. La serie también se
ofrecerá en español los jueves empezando el 12 de abril. Estas
sesiones se ofrecerán a las 6:00 PM.
New Annual Compliance Training Dates

Each week a different health topic is presented. This is followed by a group activity and concludes with a 30 minute
walk (at one’s own pace). This program will be offered in
English and Spanish. The series in English will be offered on
both Tuesdays (beginning on April 10th) and Thursdays
(beginning on April 12th). The series will also be offered in
Spanish on Thursdays (beginning on April 12th). Starting
time for these sessions will be 6:00 PM.

Youth Ministry Update

Fr Bruce will be returning to St Cyril on Saturday, April
14th April to offer a retreat for 8th graders thru seniors
in HS. Those young people planning on being Confirmed during the 2012-2013 school year need to attend
this fun event. Please mark your calendars for this exciting teen event. Look for registration forms on our
parish Webpage.
Confirmation I and High School Youth Group: will meet on
April 4th from 7:00—9:00 PM in Dougherty. We will continue
reflecting on Living with the Eucharist.
Junior High School Youth Group will not this meet this
Thursday, April 5 as it is Holy Thursday. Young people
and their families should attend the parish liturgy.
Old Pueblo Road Rally 2012
Have fun while helping to raise funds for Catholic
Community Services which provides for seniors,
including home-delivered meals and congregate
nutrition sites, Barrio Viejo and Casitas on East
Broadway low-income senior housing, medical and
dental care through St. Elizabeth’s Health Center, counseling,
and a hearing aid bank through the Community Outreach Program for the Deaf. CCS helps individuals and families without
regard to age, gender, race, or religion.
The Road Rally is a 1/1/2 to 2-hour driving tour of Tucson that
starts at St. Cyril of Alexandria Parish)and ends at Tucson
Country Club. It will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012. Rally
teams gather at St. Cyril’s Parish, 4725 E. Pima St., at 9:00
a.m. The rally will commence at 10:00 a.m. sharp; the awards
lunch and silent auction at Tucson Country Club will begin at
approximately 12:00 noon.
The fundraising minimum for each team (a car with at least
two persons) is $500. You can collect pledges in advance from
co-workers, family and friends, or you can donate the full
amount yourself. It’s up to you!
This is not a race. Vehicles range from pick-up trucks to
sports cars, from car club show-stoppers to everyday autos.

El Road Rally es un tour de manejar por 1 ½ a 2 horas por
Tucsón que empieza en la parroquia de San Cirilo de Alejandría y termina en el Country Club de Tucsón. Se llevará
a cabo el sábado 28 de abril del 2012. Los equipos de rally
se reúnen a las 9:00 a.m. en la Parroquia de San Cirilo,
4725 E. Pima. El rally empezará en punto de las 10:00
a.m.; el almuerzo de los premios y la subasta silenciosa en
el Tucson Country Club darán principio aproximadamente a
las 12:00 del mediodía.
