One thing I can promise you - if you come to the U.S. Open
Bowfishing Championship and Expo at Bass Pro Shop’s
Memphis Pyramid store in Memphis, TN, July 8, 9, and 10, no
matter how far you travel- the trip will be worth your while.
The U.S. Open Bowfishing Championship and Expo has
something for everyone that loves bowfishing, archery, or
just spending time on the water. There will be seminars from
top pros, custom bow-fishing boats from around the country,
vendor booths from the leading companies in bowfishing, as
well as small booths featuring new and innovative products.
Competitors signed up for the tournament will receive special
discounts and pricing for lots of bowfishing gear.
The U.S. Open Bowfishing Championship in just it’s third
year, became the World’s largest bow-fishing event. The
tournament has more than doubled in size after hosting over
500 fishermen in it’s inaugural year. Teams from around the
country took over 32,000 lbs. of fish in 2015. All these fish
were turned into liquid organic fertilizer for use on organic
farms. This year there is a $25,000 guaranteed cash prize for the
champions and $5,000 dollar check for the biggest fish boated.
We’ve added more water for competitors, the Mississippi River–
from MO/TN Line to Vicksburg, MS, and lots of lakes for you
to compete on.

All fish taken during the U.S. Open Bowfishing Championship will be put to good use
as environmentally friendly fertilizer. Advances in technology have made it possible
to liquefy fish into a safe, healthy fertilizer for use by organic farmers and home and
garden purposes. SF Organics, a Division of Schafer Fisheries, uses hydrolysis to break
the product down while maintaining the vitamins, enzymes, amino acids and minerals
that create high-quality natural plant food.
“We love being able to get the kind of tonnage this bowfishing tournament will
produce,” said James Schafer of SF Organics, a Division of Schafer Fisheries.
“We’re able to pick up the fish in our refrigerated trucks the same day they’re caught
so we can convert them into organic fertilizer.”
