Instructions
This is not your typical board game. For one thing, there is no board. For another, there
also aren’t official rules that have been well vetted by professional game developers. It
is home made. It is customizable. It is fun. Enjoy.
One person volunteers to be Santa. This person prepares the game and can’t play. (They
still have fun, though, I promise.) Santa is in charge and can modify the content of the
game and/or the rules. It’s fun to play it a little different every time.
How Santa Prepares
1.
Print this document.
2.
Take the pages with the answers and keep them hidden, but handy.
3.
If you want, you can customize the game by not using questions that are too hard
or easy and by creating your own questions.
4.
Cut the Quote Questions, Trivia Questions and Performances pages, with one
item on each piece of paper. Fold each piece of paper a few times. Put the pieces
of paper for Quote Questions in one jar, envelope or stack, then the same for the
Trivia Questions and Performances.
5.
Find a pair of die.
How to Play
1.
Form pairs, if you want. We do this when there are little kids who need some help.
2.
The pair with the youngest member goes first.
3.
Roll the die.
a. Even (not doubles) – Chose from the Quote jar.
b. Odd (not doubles) – Choose from the Trivia jar.
c. Doubles – Choose from the Performance jar.
4.
For Quotes or Trivia, the team has a reasonable amount of time to discuss and
then share their final answer. Santa decides if the answer is correct. Santa also
keeps score. A correct answer is worth 1 point.
5.
For Performances, the pair acts out the scene with great passion and
commitment. Clapping and cheering by other pairs are encouraged. Santa
determines if the performance gets 0 (they didn’t really try), 1 (pretty good) or 2
(Oscar worthy) points.
6.
When the final Performance has ended, the game is over, even if there are
questions left. The pair with the most points wins.
