about our Parks
and attractions.
Part of the big Summer Nightastic! news is the longtime-dreamed-aboutbut-how-could-it-possibly-happen return of Main Street Electrical
Parade to enchant Magic Kingdom ® Guests. This is the opportunity of a
lifetime—to see the parade for the first time, to see it again and most of all,
to see the amazed reactions of your family and friends when they see it.
“When we can create something that really engages our Guests for
generations, that’s absolutely magical,” said Forrest Bahruth, Show
Director, Walt Disney Entertainment. “It’s like a classic ‘E’ ticket Disney
attraction.”
And now for something completely different
“The parade will now begin with a completely different lead float,
featuring Tinker Bell in a hot air balloon along with four of her
pixie friends,” said Gene Harding, Show Producer, Walt Disney
Entertainment. “From there, Tinker Bell’s pixie dust will sparkle
throughout the entire parade.”
So what else is new? “We had the Snow White portion of the parade in
Florida before, including Dopey’s train,” added Gene. “But the diamond
mine was a Disneyland® Resort feature. Plus, the entire Pinocchio
section is new to Magic Kingdom Guests, with a funhouse float, ‘cigar
store’ and the Pleasure Island boys.”
Have a ball at the ball
Fans of the Main Street Electrical Parade will heave a collective sigh as they see the all-time best loved
floats, like that adorable twinkling train, the giant drum heralding the parade title and the delightful Alice in
Wonderland section: the Caterpillar, butterfly and whirling snails, the fireflies and turtles—and Alice herself,
sitting daintily on a mushroom and asking about the White Rabbit.
Next up you can relive the gorgeous ballroom sequence from Cinderella, and giggle as her nasty
stepsisters snarl at the crowds. Peter Pan, Wendy and the Never Land friends follow, plus some foes:
Captain Hook aboard ship with Mr. Smee rowing behind.
Brazzle dazzle brilliance!
After waving “hello” to Pete, perched atop Elliott the dragon, the shimmering American flag float brings the
Main Street Electrical Parade to a patriotic finale.
As the parade glows into the evening mists, surely you’ll spot more than a few children, after experiencing
this precious classic for the first time, and see their grateful little faces smiling up at the grownups as if to
say, “You were right. It’s everything you said it was. And I love it, too.”
Enjoy the Main Street Electrical Parade at Magic Kingdom® Park starting June 6.

The famous melody throughout the parade, “Baroque Hoedown,” was
also heard briefly on The Beatles’ 1968 Christmas Fan Club Record.

Summer Nightastic!
Get ready to
ooh, aah and gasp!
Magic Kingdom Park bursts with music, color and
fantasy with the Summer Nightastic! fireworks spectacular
“Summer nights are so special there’s no better
word for them than ‘Nightastic!,’” said Chris
Oyen, Show Director, Walt Disney Entertainment.
“Nighttime adds mystery, romance and magic.
That’s what we hear Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother
tell us when the Summer Nightastic! fireworks
spectacular begins.”
Drawn to the magic
“When they hear this, Aurora’s Godmothers—
Flora, Fauna and Merryweather—are drawn to
the magic,” Chris said. “They help the Magic
Kingdom® skies burst with fireworks in perfect
synch with great Disney songs.”
It all reaches the height of excitement when
Captain Hook and his pirate crew try to capture
Cinderella Castle and it may look as if they’ve
blown off parts of the magical structure! Will
Tinker Bell arrive in time to save the day, or
should we say, the night?
Only for a limited time this summer!
“We’ve re-imagined new magic from something that
only a select few were able to experience before,”
said Chris, referring to the much-loved “Magic,
Music and Mayhem.” From those sparkling roots,
Chris is delighted that he and the Walt Disney
Entertainment team are now able to bring Summer
Nightastic! fireworks spectacular to a new level and
to a larger audience, including Passholders like you.
“Night after night, there will be more opportunities
to see our ‘perimeter fireworks,’ the ones that
surround the Park. Those are usually limited to
holidays and specially ticketed events. But they’ll
all be there to see, hear and feel—especially for
these special summer nights. Because like we said,
they’re ‘Nightastic!’”
Summer Nightastic! fireworks spectacular will be
delighting Magic Kingdom Guests from June 6 to
August 14.
Epcot brings back the
®
Sounds of Summer.
Friends? Check. Chillin’ out? Check. Laid back summer day? Check.
But you can’t forget the sounds of summer, with the Sounds Like
Summer Concert Series at Epcot ®! It’s the perfect time to relax with
friends and dance to music from bands covering artists like Bon Jovi,
Chicago, The Bee Gees and The Rolling Stones!
When it’s time for some music, Brad Ross has you covered. Brad books
the acts that entertain us during the Sounds Like Summer Concert Series.
“When it comes to the bands, we look at quality first,” said Brad. “We
also look at the genre of music they play.”
And besides the bands that love to come back every year, there are
also some new ones as well.
“Take The Rolling Stones Tribute Band, for example,” said Brad. “ It took
a while for us to get them here because we have to to get permission
from the original band first. We critique every new band the same way
we critique our celebrity talent and expect them to deliver the same level
of performance quality.”
During the three nightly shows (5:45 p.m.*, 7 p.m.* and 8:15 p.m.*),
you’ll find your favorite summer hits are stayin’ alive and well! Join us June
12–July 31, 2010, at Epcot® for the Sounds Like Summer Concert Series!
*Show times vary on July 4. Visit disneyworld.com for more information.

Taking summer nights to
all-new heights (and drops)!
“Tonight’s story on The Twilight Zone…”
When it débuted in 1994 the attraction immediately became
a Guest favorite. According to legend, the hotel was struck by
lightning on October 31, 1939. The strike sent an elevator cart
with five passengers to The Twilight Zone and caused an
entire wing of the building to disappear.
SECRET
In the lobby, the poster announcing
“Anthony Fremont and His Orchestra” is
a reference to the character played by Bill
Mumy in one of the creepiest The Twilight
Zone episodes, “It’s a Good Life.”
But it’s more than just a thrill ride. The Twilight Zone Tower
of Terror™ combines a terrific story with state-of-the-art
special effects, from Rod Serling appearing on the TV in the
lobby to the mysterious boiler room. Even the “elevator” itself
was developed specifically for the attraction. In fact, the cables on the “elevator” pull it down at
a speed faster than gravity would provide! Giving new meaning to the word “Whoooooosh!”
What fun is one drop…when you can have more?
Since the attraction’s grand opening, many enhancements have been made: new projections, wind
effects and even backlit figures of the five original “elevator” riders. But the most exciting one to Guests
was the controlled “elevator” drop. It was reprogrammed to have the “elevator” make several random
lifts and controlled drops instead of just one.
Into the zone for the Zone!
As part of Summer Nightastic!, Walt Disney Imagineers came up with even more unexpected thrills in
the Hollywood Tower Hotel! If you listen closely, you can hear the distant rumble of thunder, not to
mention the giggles from the disembodied voice of a child. New lighting and sound effects will add to
the new experience, bringing Guests into the eerie halls of the Hollywood Tower Hotel.
Throughout the summer, you’ll find the eerie blue lights and lightning crashing around The Twilight
Zone Tower of Terror. It’s your chance to take your summer fun to a whole new dimension!
The Twilight Zone ® is a registered trademark of CBS, Inc. and is used with permission pursuant to a license from CBS, Inc.
Glow on with your bad self!
Summer Nightastic! brings enhancements to
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ™!
It is a dark and stormy night. Lightning crashes overhead, and we briefly see the old Hollywood Tower Hotel
lit up in the night. The hotel’s silhouette is an ominous shape in the purple twilight sky.
And if you listen closely, faintly you can hear voices. Are they from other visitors to the hotel? Or ones that
never checked out? And was that a shadow, slowly creeping up the wall?
Suddenly, it dawns on you. You shouldn’t be here! But then it’s too late…you are about to take a trip into a
whole new dimension!
The nights get even brighter thanks to a Rock and
Glow Dance Party powered by pure rock and roll!
Just swing by the special stage in front of the Sorcerer’s
Hat on Hollywood Boulevard and check out Mulch,
Sweat and Shears, our resident landscaping crew/
aspiring rock stars. As the sun goes down, the glow
comes on as a result of some electrifying music and
special effects. Even between sets, the party continues
thanks to our house DJ and some very special Disney
friends who take “dancing in the streets” to a whole new
level. The party takes place Thursdays through Sundays—
and Tuesdays, too—during Summer Nightastic!

The arrival of Disney•Pixar’s Toy Story 3 is celebrated
with new Disney’s Hollywood Studios fun
There’s been a lot of “buzz” about the new characters
making their bow in Disney•Pixar’s Toy Story 3! So
we wanted to find out which of these new friends
are also joining Buzz, Woody and the gang this
summer at the Toy Story Mania!™ attraction.
Sue Bryan, Senior Show Producer, Director,
Walt Disney Imagineering, gave us the inside
scoop. “We created a new version of the balloon
game,” she told us. “It’s hosted by Rex, the nervous
Tyrannosaurus Rex, and his new friend Trixie, the
Triceratops who’s as crazy over games as he is.
“The game is now called ‘Rex and Trixie’s Dino
Darts’ with a great new primeval setting filled with
volcanoes and lava balloons. Look for Rex and
Trixie to get very excited when you score points.”
You can still spot Woody and Jessie in the prize
scene, plus Trixie, Buttercup (a unicorn), Dolly and
the lederhosen-clad hedgehog, Mr. Pricklepants.
“We’re always keeping our attractions relevant,” Sue
added. “I love that we’re helping keep things fresh
and new by adding great new friends and fun to join
some of the most popular characters of all time.”
New attraction enhancements coming late May. The movie opens June 18, 2010.

Celebrate the power of the Force at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Starting this May, you can journey to “a galaxy far, far away,” during Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s
Hollywood Studios™. We’re saluting the 30th anniversary of Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes
Back and much more with special entertainment, Star Wars celebrities, interactive experiences and more.
“The Empire Strikes Back was the second Star Wars release and the fifth chapter in the Saga,” said
Mark Renfrow, Show Director, Walt Disney Entertainment. “It was also the first time a lot of characters
appeared, like Yoda, Boba Fett and Lando Calrissian.”
And speaking of Lando…Billy Dee Williams is scheduled to appear June 4–6! On the other weekends,
look for Daniel Logan (Boba Fett in Episode II) May 21–23; Tom Kane (voice of the animated Yoda)
May 28–30; and Ray Park (Darth Maul) and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) June 11–13. Plus, each of
the Star Wars Weekends will be hosted by Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett) and Ashley Eckstein (Ahsoka).
All the world loves a clone
Another aspect of Star Wars celebrated during this event is Star Wars: The Clone Wars™, the
awesome animated series that features its own set of fantastic characters and a growing legion of fans.
“Even my own kids love it, with no coaching from Dad,” said Mark. “It seems that each generation has an
aspect of Star Wars to call its own.”
In addition to trivia contests, behind-the-scenes presentations, motorcade parade and thrilling Star
Tours ® attraction, the popular Jedi Training Academy will double the villainy as both Darth Vader and
Darth Maul face off against young Guests who become Padawan warriors.
