CRIB NOTES
Summer 2016
CPC Newsletter
From the Director…
We are often reminding ourselves here at CPC that we are seed planters, and
while we can’t control the type of soil upon which the seeds will fall, the One
who supplies the seed asks only that we be faithful in the sowing. This issue
of Crib Notes celebrates all the ways in which the Divine Seed Supplier is multiplying our seed and increasing our harvest.
Since we last ‘talked’, we were given the amazing opportunity to benefit from a
new FUNdraising event – our Home Opener casino night – and what an amazing evening it was! Great friends, amazing food, and a casual evening of fun,
fun, and more fun! Our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who worked on the committee, sponsored the event, donated silent auction items, or came to enjoy the
evening. It was a grand success and a delightful opportunity to meet new
friends, all while raising vital funding to continue serving the moms, dads, and
babies of our community with the educational, emotional, spiritual, and material
support so needed. Mark your calendars now for next year’s Home Opener, to
be held Saturday, April 8, 2017!
“The one who supplies
seed to the sower and
bread for food will
supply and multiply
your seed and increase
the harvest of your
righteousness.”
(2 Cor. 9:10)
I am beyond blessed to also introduce you to our new medical director, Dr.
Melissa Mancuso (please see our spotlight on Dr. Mancuso in this issue). With
the addition of Dr. Mancuso, CPC is poised to move forward with the goal of
adding ultrasound services before year’s end – so please stay tuned as we
draw closer to that goal!
I know I echo the sentiment of each of our board and staff members when I
ask you to please keep the ministry of Community Pregnancy Center in your
prayers. As we continue to ‘seek first the Kingdom’, we also continue to seek the wisdom and
guidance of the Holy Spirit as the Lord sees fit to
multiply the seed and increase the harvest of
CPC.
Commending you to the love and mercy of our
faithful God,
♥ Diane
P.S. As always, our doors are open! If you ever have a
question or would like to drop in for a tour of our beautiful new home, just give me a
call at 330-825-1900 – I will look forward to our visit!

Meet Dr. Mancuso
Our Board of Directors and staff are very pleased to
introduce you to Dr. Melissa Mancuso,
CPC’s new Medical Director!
Ultrasound
Update
As we near the final stages of
Dr. Mancuso is currently the Director of the Fetal Treatment Center
and the interim Chair of Maternal Fetal Medicine at Akron Children’s
Hospital.
She and her husband Michael
grew up together in Leetonia, Ohio
and are the parents to 10 year old
twins (boy and girl) and a 6 year
old daughter. After attending
college and Medical School at
Case Western Reserve in
Cleveland, Dr. Mancuso moved
south to perform her fellowship at
the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Maternal Fetal Medicine
and Medical Genetics. She returned to the area in 2011 and has
been working at Akron Children’s Hospital ever since.
Growing up, Dr. Mancuso said “medicine was a dream beginning at
a young age, I never really considered another profession”. She
credits her great grandmother and grandmother who were midwives
in a small coal mining town for drawing her interest to obstetrics and
caring for others. During her time in medical school she became
very interested in maternal fetal medicine and genetics. During her
experience she has found that families are very vulnerable during
pregnancies that are not going as planned and she goes above and
beyond to practice with care and compassion to make the
experience the best it can be.
Dr. Mancuso was looking for a way to give back to the community
after feeling so blessed in her own life and Community Pregnancy
Center’s addition of ultrasound and limited medical services seemed
to be a be a perfect fit. She believes that the addition of these new
services will provide so much value to our clients and their families.
We humbly ask that you pray for Dr. Mancuso, her practice, and for
the final stages of our ultrasound and medical services.
implementing our ultrasound
services for our clients and their
families we wanted to give all of
you an update on our progress.
We are thankful that our many
prayers have been answered and
that the placement of our Medical
Director is now complete!
CPC is now working with a
consultant who assists pregnancy
centers who are going to become
a medical facility with all of the
legal aspects and state
requirements that come along with
this transition.
The plan in place is to be up and
functioning with our ultrasound
services by year end.
Our goal of being a center of hope
for those abortion-minded women
experiencing an unplanned
pregnancy is almost here! We
thank you for the support and
prayers that have helped us to get
to this point and look forward to
this next phase for CPC!

Welcome to our new
Director of Client Services!
Please join us in welcoming Peggy Swyrydenko to our Community
Pregnancy Center staff! Peggy has been a member of the CPC
family since 2012 when she began volunteering as a material
goods sorter. She became a client advocate soon after and has
used her talents to mentor our clients since.
In her new position, Peggy will be overseeing our volunteer staff
and handling client-related activity.
Peggy was born in Wausau, WI, but moved into the northeast Ohio
area at 12 years old. She is a proud wife and mother of 3 beautiful
children; Viktor (14), Sandy (11), and Andrew (8), whom she home schools. Peggy and her family live in
Norton and attend Grace Brethren Church of Barberton.
Peggy is delighted to start back to her career at CPC. While she says she was not actively looking for work
outside of the home, this opportunity presented itself and could not have been a more perfect fit. Peggy has
a strong connection and heart for the pro-life movement and really enjoys the opportunity to work with our
volunteers and client families. From her experience as a client advocate, she appreciates connecting with
clients and having the opportunity to show them that they and their children are valuable, as so many of our
clients have never experienced that before.
We feel so blessed to have Peggy here at CPC as our new Director of Client Services. Please say hello if
you are visiting us or send her a welcome at [email protected]!
