OUR STORY
Pi
Super Yachts was founded by three leading
yacht-building enthusiasts, who share a passion for
the sea and a vision to create the world’s first luxury
super trimaran consumer brand on the planet.
Together the Pi Super Yacht team have over 175 years’
experience in the marine industry. All in the Pi Yachts
team share one thing – a genuine love for the sea.
The Pi Super Yacht team has a rich history of sailing,
designing, refurbishing and building boats of all
sizes and types across the globe. It is this knowledge
and experience of the planet that drives a genuine
altruism to not damage the planet, both at sea and
on land, in their pursuit of sailing nirvana. It was a
chance meeting between old mariners and friends
that brought about Pi Super Yachts.
When one seadog shared his vision for a truly luxurious Super Trimaran that provides a 100% elite yet
ethical sailing experience, with near zero impact on
the environment, his equally ‘salty’ friends agreed it
was indeed a wonderful idea. They set about making
it happen. The rest - as they say - is sailing history.

name ‘Dragonship’ came from Dragon
Boats after one of the Pi Yacht team experienced racing one with 20 other people for a
charity event. It seemed like a natural name
for the Super Trimarans given the speed and
agility of both vessels.
Designed to optimise relaxation and the
tranquility of open water, it was essential to
maintain - even increase - sailing speeds
while removing all reliance on fossil fuels
that pollute the air, marine environment and
the sailing experience.

Inspired on a visit to the Caribbean, Pi
Yachts’ Will O’Hara had the idea of a large
luxurious trimaran after seeing designs of
large catamarans. The extra stability of three
hulls also increased living spaces and a
reduced beam enabled port access: the idea
for an 80m vessel was born. Soon after, the
25m option was designed both using state of
the art technology along with totally unique
innovation dreamed up by the vastly
experienced Pi Super Yacht team.

DRAGONSHIP 80
This aluminium 80 metre Dragonship with 5 decks, 3 masted
trimaran with folding amas is the flagship of our 'Dragonship'
range of sailing trimarans that we propose building over the
coming years. The sailing range will consist of the 80m, 50m, 35m
and our baby Dragon at just 25m.
The Autosail is highly innovative and cutting-edge, similar to the
wing masts recently used on the America’s Cup AC72 yachts. It
does away with the use of sheets for control, instead relying upon
a powered rotating mast which supports the aerofoil section sail.
Along with being fully automated for reefing and stowing, the
system also has the advantage of being able to rotate the sail
surface to achieve the most efficient angle to the wind on any point
of sail. Another unique feature is the ability to gybe the sails over
the foredeck due to the 360 degree rotational freedom of the rig.
Propulsion is all electric using new leading technology fast
recharge batteries with charging from solar cells integrated into
the fabric of the Autosail. One particular issue that Pi Yachts
wanted to address with their range of trimarans was the problem
that such a large beam of 30m can create when in harbour, so the
amas have been designed to fold away alongside the main hull
when docked.
Her layout was designed to be charter-friendly, accommodating
12 guests in six cabins and supported by a crew of 17.
Crew cabins are located in the Amas while the Captain’s suite is on
the upper deck, not far from the bridge.
Tenders and toys are also stored within the Amas leaving the aft
end of the vessel available for a stunning owner’s suite, complete
with permanent balcony and private access foyer.
The main and upper decks are dedicated to social areas which will
offer unparalleled views out to sea. Facilities on the main deck will
include the saloon, bar, dining room, library, spa and a gym, all
encompassed by a wide promenade offering the sheer luxury of
space. Outside dining is catered for at the aft end of this deck,
while the foredeck is kept clear as a reconfigurable space.
The upper deck features the sky lounge and has an emphasis on
out-door enjoyment. A large exterior bar overlooks the Jacuzzi
and spacious sun-pads. This area can also be shielded from the
sun by the built-in awning system. Forward of the bridge is another large exterior seating area including a bar/TV cabinet which
leads on to open deck space for sun-loungers.
Exterior helm stations are located on the fifth, upper-most deck
and boast commanding views of the rig and offer clear views out to
sea. This deck also provides seating and a bar for guests to share
in the thrill of helming this powerful, graceful vessel.

At 25m it comes in a more compact format, but with the same
innovative power and ecological technology that embodies the
Dragonship range. There is currently no luxury Trimaran like the
Dragonship 25m on the market and the bespoke product offers a
total of 291sqm of sumptuous luxury living space and incorporates
the very latest technology.
The Dragonship 25 is designed to comfortably accommodate ten
guests and four crew members for extended cruising. The master
stateroom is situated in the main hull with fixed portlights in the
transom. Four ensuite guest staterooms are situated on the main
deck, while the twin crew cabins are situated in the amas. Huge
salon and dining areas with further dining at the aft cockpit and
flybridge which has port and starboard helm stations. An extended
deck accommodates a 5.2m tender and hydraulic crane. Each ama
houses a lazarette with fold-down swim platform aft, which offers
the perfect spot for water sports fun or simply a place to store
water toys.
The Dragonship 25 is almost ‘carbon free’ featuring combined
technology powering electric propulsion, with solar PV panels
on the coach roof and integrated into the Autosail wingsail.
This of course means near zero carbon emissions and is almost
silent even when running on full power, offering owners a truly
ethical sailing experience with zero impact on the environment.
