7:00 Exploring Music with Bill McGlaughlin
“Clowning Around” This week’s focus is musical
buffoonery! Music is a language, and like all others it has
its jokes, witticisms, and puns. For composers, clowning
around with music takes the same skills as writing a great
symphony. These fun, charming works show the genius of
the composers who have written them.

Esa-Pekka Salonen conducts. CLYNE: Rewind BARTÓK:

with lots of your favorites! (Please send your operatic
requests to Marie at [email protected] before
Thursday, March 31.) We thank you in advance for calling

other music you love on Classic FM!
6:00 The Concert Hall with Diane Jones and Bruce
Paulsen
8:00 Deutsche Welle Festival Concerts with Rick
Fulker
“Anima 03” Conductor Jos van Immerseel loves his
musicians; he tosses his bouquet to them after every
concert. Schubert may have composed “The Magic Harp”
as incidental music for a theater play, but Anima Eterna,
at the most recent Beethovenfest in Bonn, makes it sound
BIG. And their programs often include a surprise...
10:00 Collectors’ Corner with Henry Fogel
“A Potpourri of Henry’s Favorites to Celebrate His
Thousandth Program!” (Selections to be announced)
12:06 Through the Night with Peter Van de Graaff

composers: Schubert, Grieg, Strauss and more. The shows

6:00 Harmonia with Angela Mariani
“You’ll Laugh, You’ll Cry” Laughter and tears: two of the
most human forms of expression. We laugh when we’re
happy—and sometimes even when we’re not; and we
cry for almost as many reasons as there are tears—for
pride, grief, annoyance, and of course, love. This week on
Harmonia, you’ll laugh, you’ll cry… and you’ll sample a
featured release by John Holloway.
7:00 Pipedreams with Michael Barone
