Sharp Manufacturing Corporation (M) Sdn. Bhd. is a site manufacturing of Liquid Crystal
Display television of different models for export to many countries throughout the world.
In the business world today, a company’s role in the preservation and protection of the
environment in the course of its business activities can determine it’s success or failure.
Sharp Manufacturing Corporation (M) Sdn. Bhd. carries out its operations in line with
compliance to international, Malaysian and corporate environmental directives,
regulations and laws.
The company has attained the ISO14001 certification since 1998 and continuously
carried out environmental activities in the company to instill an awareness and strong
commitment among its employees and vendors towards protection of the environment.
Environmental activities outside the company were also promoted to create a better
relationship between the company, society and the environmental.
This report describes the main environmental activities carried out in the year of 2014 by
the company for your better understanding.

Environmental Policy
This environmental policy indicates our commitment to
protect the environment. We will explore and apply the best
practical means to reduce adverse significant impact from
our activities, products & services in our continuous quest to
manufacture the product with the best quality and
environmental friendly.
The following pro-active efforts shall be taken in order to
fulfill our commitment:
Identify existing and potential pollution. Recommended
actions, objectives & targets will be established in the
environmental programs to ensure a progressive and
systematic means in pollution prevention, waste reduction &
minimization of energy consumption

Ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements & with
other requirements which relate to its environmental
aspects.

Promote environmental protection in line with Sharp
environmental policy.
l
Annually review this environmental policy together with the
environmental objectives & targets.
l
Publicize and communicate this environmental policy to all
persons who work for or on behalf & make it readily available
to the public.
We will achieve continual improvement and prevention of
pollution through our systematic Environmental Management
System.

wastewater for air-conditioner cooling tower
system for Plant 1, Plant 2, Plant 3. City water
consumption in 14L was 61,448 m3 . Whereby
in 13L was 88,318 m3. There was 30% of city
water reduction consumed.

Awareness Program
Once in sixmonth
On 31st March 2015, a total of 300 SMM staffs
were participated in the “Clean and Beauty”
campaign. Activities that been carried out in
this campaign were cleaning up area at SMM
surroundings and painting bus stop, cooling
towers, rest shelters, road side curb and etc.
