Spring 2016 - Miriam`s House
NEW FACES AT MIRIAM’S HOUSE
I
n January 2016, three new board members joined the extraordinary
team of professionals who oversee the work of Miriam’s House. We
are so pleased to welcome them to the Board of Directors and value
their commitment to our mission of ending homelessness.
Mac Frankfort is the Vice President and CFO for Wiley
Wilson. He and his wife, Linie, have lived in Lynchburg for 35 years,
and he currently serves on the Lynchburg City Schools Education
Foundation Board. He is interested in making a positive difference
for women and children in crisis situations.
B.J. McGraw has led corporate projects in the financial services
industry for over 30 years, with a focus on sales and marketing and
strategic planning. She has worked and served on multiple boards
throughout the community and served on our board in the 1990’s.
Todd Vie serves as priest at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in
Lynchburg, VA. He serves in ministry with his wife, Diane, also an
ordained priest in the Episcopal Church. They have one daughter,
Amanda, who is a sophomore at VES.

GET INVOLVED
T
here are so many ways for you to get involved with
our work of ending homelessness! Here are just a few
opportunities, but we would love to talk with you more
about how you can contribute toward our mission to end
homelessness through the empowerment of women and
families.
• Adopt a family moving out of homelessness through
assisting them with the logistics of moving, bringing
them a hot meal on their first night in a new place or
unpacking boxes
• Purchase extra household supplies (toilet paper, all purpose cleaners, trash bags) when you’re out shopping
and drop them off for our families to use
• Provide a welcoming home to those seeking shelter
with us by planting flowers and picking weeds
• Be a Table Captain at our 17th Annual Luncheon by
inviting 9 friends to join you for lunch as you support
our work
Follow us on Facebook to learn of more opportunities to
get involved with life at Miriam’s House. It takes all of us
joining together to ensure that homelessness is rare, brief
and nonrecurring in our community!
