Who?
The Cardel Homes Art–a–Thon is open to all High School Students
in Calgary and Region, Grades 10–12, public or private institutions.
What?
• The Cardel Homes Art-a-Thon is an opportunity to express yourself
and showcase your creative artistic talents. It may also bring some
additional financial support to pursue your artistic learning. A total
scholarship purse of $10,000 will be shared with the finalists.
• Flat (2D) artworks of a size not to exceed 36"w x 36"h x 2"d may be
submitted. Art submissions must be framed or mounted for display
purposes. Students full name must be visible somewhere on art piece
• Artists may use a variety of media to create their artwork including but
not limited to oil, watercolour, charcoal, wood, metals, fabric.
Photography is excluded from the Art-a-Thon.
• Please ensure you submit an artist’s statement with your piece.
• Maximum of 2 submissions per student.
Where?
The Art-a-Thon entries will be exhibited at an art show and reception
for family and friends on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at 6:30 pm
at the Cardel Theatre. Artwork will be adjudicated the evening prior to
the art show by a jury of respected members of the art community.
The top nine artworks will be displayed for a year a Cardel Place in a secure
case on the upper “piazza” concourse. Cardel Place is the centre for
community, sport and recreation in north Calgary. www.cardelplace.com

?
• Register online letting us know you plan on participating.
• Submit a completed entry form (found online at www.cardelhomes.com)
and consent form with your art submission between January 2 and
January 18, 2013.
Only completed forms and labeled art pieces will be accepted.
• Submissions can be dropped off at the following locations;
Cardel Homes - 180 Quarry Park Blvd SE, 403-258-1511
Cardel Place - 11950 Country Village Link NE, 403-532-1013
• Art submissions must be received by Friday, January 18, 2013.
