Bobbi. She was the first woman Rotarian and also the first

what she does! Being an 11 year breast cancer survivor has given
her the motivation to be better than best. She is always available
to talk to anyone going through the breast cancer process. Bobbi
says her life is her seven grandchildren. They range from 10
months to 9 years of age. Fortunately, all are in Kansas City and
she gets a ‘fix’ quite often.

When Lynn moved to the Lake in
1975 from a small town of 150 people
approximately 60 miles west of the Lake,
she knew she had found home. Almost 37
years later, Lynn and her husband, John,
have raised a family here and become

Born and raised in Kansas City, Mike moved to the Lake area
in 1973 when he was hired as an Advertising Director for a large
Lake resort. Soon after, Mike met wife Angie and the two have
been living the blissful Lake lifestyle for 36 years. The couple has
five grown boys, two Yorkies and 13 horses. Both Mike and Angie
work diligently as owners of Community Real Estate, promoting
Lake living and all the area has to offer.
Through the years, the Terrys have worked as innovators,
volunteers and founders in many charitable organizations. In
1978 Mike started one of the first major golf tournaments at the
Lake with all profits donated to the Lake Association. From
humble beginnings of $2,000 the first year to $35,000 by the
fourth year and again in the fifth year, it was an outstanding
success in the early 1980s.
“It showed me what you can do with an idea and a group of
dedicated volunteers,” Mike says. “And that the people at the
Lake cared about our community.”
Additionally, Mike served on the Board of Directors for nine
years with the Bagnell Dam Association of Realtors, has worked
with Camp Wonderland (a camp for handicapped children and
adults), and the Senior Olympics (a charity to help local nursing
homes hold a day of events). Mike has also worked as part of
the Easter Seals Telethon, served for nine years as Chairman
of the Board for Citizens Against Domestic Violence, and has
worked with the March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction as
the presenting sponsor. Angie worked with these organizations
and fundraisers as a volunteer and has also served on the Board
of Directors and as Past President of the local chapter of the
Women’s Council of Realtors.
During their leisure time the Terrys enjoy boating, golfing,
dining out and visiting with friends and family.
“The Lake is a great place with the natural beauty of the
Ozarks, the friendly people and a lifestyle that can be anything
you want it to be,” Mike says. “We have seen so many changes
in the last ten years and I expect to see continued growth. The
influence of national companies has brought attention like we
have not seen in the past and that has created a snowball affect

The original nine holes of the Eldon Country Club’s course
were carved out of a farm in 1934. The greens were of sand (that
changed in 1960) and the clubhouse was, in reality, a farmhouse.
Times have changed, but this is still one of the most relaxing
courses you will find. The club’s amenities now include a driving
range, practice area, golf lessons, snack bar and pro shop.
An 18 hole, par 70 semi-private beauty, the Zoysia fairways
and bunker system at the Eldon course were upgraded in 2001.
Just 12 miles from the Lake, this is the place to go for smaller
crowds and great rates. From April 16-October 14, weekday green
fees for nine holes are $20 and $30 respectively. Weekend fees are
$37 and $42. Twilight rates for 18 holes (after 1 p.m.) are $27 on

The semi-private course is noted for its challenging 17th hole,
backed by a large, limestone outcrop and fronted by a deep,
clear-water lake. However, Number 17 is just but one of the
unique qualities found on the 300 acres of Bermuda fairways
and bent-grass greens. A full pro-shop features clothing and golf
equipment, and lessons are readily available. In addition, the
Indian Rock Golf Club/Retirement Community includes 200,
1/3 acre home sites, Mulligan’s Sports Bar and Restaurant, and

72, Ken Kavanaugh design is considered by many to be “playerfriendly.” However, that does not translate to “easy.” In fact, Golf
