SKYCROFT LODGING
Skycroft offers
a variety
of lodging
accommodations
at various rates.
You may choose
one of our 40
motel type
rooms, most
with two double beds
and a private bath. There
are 4 rooms that are
handicap accessible and
have one double bed and
a twin pullout sofa bed. Linens are provided for all
40 rooms.
Perhaps a lodge with bunk beds might better meet
your needs. All lodges have separate bathrooms in
the hallways and are equipped with central heat and
air conditioning. Pillows and blankets are provided.
Poplar lodge
sleeps 40 people
in ten rooms with
two bunk beds in
each room and
a lounge with a
fireplace.
Western sleeps a total of
48 people. Two rooms
hold 4 each and four
rooms hold 10 people.
There is a lounge with a
fireplace.
DIRECTIONS
Skycroft is located 14 miles northwest of
Frederick just off US Alternate Route 40.
From South and East:
Pine Tree sleeps a total of
40 people in two dormitory
bunk bed rooms. A
spacious conference room
with fireplace is situated
between the two dorm
rooms.
Valley View has two
rooms for 10 people each
for a total capacity of 20
people. There is a small
lounge with a fireplace.
Hickory House
was the manager’s
residence and has
been converted for
guest use. It sleeps up
to 20 people. There
are four bedrooms,
three baths, full
kitchen, dining area, living room with couches, and a
meeting room. Linens are provided.
1 Take I-70 exit 49 (Braddock Heights/
Middletown exit), turn left on Alternate Route
40 and go 9 miles to the top of South Mountain.
Turn right towards Washington Monument State
Park.
2 At the stop sign turn right on Monument Road,
make the next right on Michael road. Go 1/2
mile and turn right onto Skycroft driveway.
From North and West:
1 Take I-70 to exit 35 (Route 66) and go south 5
miles to Boonsboro. When the road ends, turn
left on US Alternate Route 40 and follow for 3
miles to the top of South Mountain. Turn left
towards Washington Monument State Park and
then follow instructions for #2 above.
High Ropes
Course
Holly has seven bunk beds
for 14 people in one room.
Laurel has nine bunk beds
for 18 people in one room.

Challenge Course.
Our seven different
elements are designed
to stretch your limits
and encourage team
unity as you climb
through the trees and
build confidence. There
is an additional cost to
reserve your groups’ spot for the course.

Welcome to
Skycroft
Conference and Retreat Center
Skycroft is located on almost 300 acres
atop beautiful South Mountain in Frederick
County Maryland. Owned and operated
by the Baptist Convention of Maryland/
Delaware, the center opened in 1977.
Development has continued to accommodate
300 plus overnight guests year round.
Skycroft and the surrounding area are rich
in Civil War history, where a significant part
of the Battle of South Mountain was fought
in 1862. Take advantage of the opportunity
to slip away into a quiet spot to reflect, to be
re-created, to be refreshed in the beauty of
“God’s great outdoors”. We offer a variety
of housing accommodations, beautiful
surroundings, excellent food service, warm
and friendly service at reasonable rates.
Both indoor and outdoor recreational
opportunities are available including a
confidence and initiative course. Many
interesting and historic sites are within an
hours drive, including outlets, river trips,
antique malls and snow skiing. Skycroft
looks forward to serving you. Let us help

SKYCROFT DINING
Skycroft has
two fully
equipped
dining halls
with a total
seating
capacity of
over 400.
Meals are
served buffet
style. We
are known for our fine
food served in a pleasant
atmosphere.
Holiday
banquets,
special events,
business
meetings,
receptions or
other important
occasions,
we consider
your event special to us
because it is special to
you. Our professional
staff can help you create
a memorable event.
Wedding receptions and banquets are a specialty of
ours. Pricing is more than competitive. Groups are
able to choose their menu and either be served or eat
buffet-style.
Nutritious and tasty meals are expertly prepared in
our clean and well-equipped kitchen. Groups having
overnight retreats may want to upgrade a meal for a
small additional charge to give you an extra touch.
We know that excellent food service will continue
to bring you back. We strive to build long, lasting
relationships with our guests.
CONFERENCE ROOMS
There are
several spaces
available as
conference
rooms able
to handle a
variety of
group sizes.
There are 4
conference
areas in Gresham Hall
under the dining room. In
the motel style buildings
there are 2 conference
rooms both carpeted.
There are 8 conference
spaces in the Nelson Center. Both the Pine Tree
Lodge and the Hickory House have conference
rooms. The lounges in Poplar, Western and Valley
View can also be used for breakout sessions.
The Barnes
Reception Center
houses the guest
registration
area, a gift store
and HeBrews,
a coffee cafe.
While on campus,
guests may
purchase gifts, clothing
and reading materials or
just relax in the comfort of
the coffee shop and enjoy
pizza,hot pretzels, ice
cream, Skycroft lattes, fruit
smoothies or a variety of other snacks.
CONFIDENCE COURSE
RECREATION
The Nelson Center
offers an exceptional
spectrum of recreation
and meeting
opportunities. It
includes a full
gymnasium
with volleyball
and basketball
courts,
racquetball
courts, a fitness
center. Guests
may also use
the outdoor pool in season. Other outdoor facilities
are volleyball nets, softball diamonds, campfire sites
and outdoor basketball courts. In addition, there are
more than 3 miles of hiking trails. Many different
kinds of trees, flowers, plants and wildlife such as
deer and wild turkey, can be observed.
Skycroft is pleased to
offer our team-building
course to your group for
an extra cost. Our goals
for those who participate
are to promote a positive
self-image, and feelings
of trust and caring among group members. An
indoor rock climbing wall and a water slide also
available for an additional cost.
SUMMER CAMPS
During the
summer,
Skycroft offers
weeks of re:
CHARGE
camp for
7-12 graders
and is also in
partnership
with Lifeway to offer
weeks of Centrikid for
3-6 graders.
