beautiful landscape around the Inn changes
from the cool whites to the bright greens, we
are grateful for another wonderful year,
which has brought so many friends back to
the Inn. As we go to print, we are preparing
for our 17th summer season in our wonderful
Vermont home. We’d like to invite all of
those who visit us regularly in the winter to
come enjoy all of the beauty that Vermont
has to offer in the spring. Vermont is able to
enjoy warm and comfortable days as well
as cool nights. The Swiss Inn guarantees
your comfort with air conditioning in both
our guests’ rooms and dining areas.
Vermont has numerous
opportunities for excitement and
adventure, which will appeal to all the
members of your group. Everyone from a
seasoned outdoorsman to an adventure
amateur can enjoy the hidden secrets and
excitement offered by Vermont’s rivers,
lakes, hiking trails, mountains and valleys.
You may wish to consider enjoying
Vermont’s clear lakes and ponds for
canoeing or fishing, as well as trails for
horseback riding, hiking and biking your
way through the Green Mountain State’s
forests. See page 2 for some ideas based on
your individual interests.
Our local area offers so many
options for our guests to enjoy our many
amenities. Guests are encouraged to enjoy
a walk along one of our country roads,
enjoy a field of wildflowers, getting a
glimpse of a moose taking a walk, fishing
in our ponds, lakes or streams, taking a
drive to see a covered bridge, or so many
other things, historical or natural, that
make Vermont such an interesting place
to visit. Summer regulars are willing to
take a step off the beaten path looking for
the adventure of something new, whether
it’s trying horseback riding for the first
time or seeing a new species of bird,
mammal or fish. It’s even possible to
enjoy some of the song birds, chipmunks and
squirrels while you are enjoying a meal in
our dining room.
Guests can always start their day with a
hearty cooked breakfast, including
breakfast staples such as eggs, pancakes,
omelets and French toast. As always, this
meal is included in the room rates for all
houseguests. We hope that you can take
some time to relax during your vacation
in our common areas to meet new friends.
To round out your evening, our
restaurant offers dining in the finest Swiss
tradition featuring German and Swiss
cuisine. Also, we have made smaller
portions of most of our menu items for
those looking for a lighter alternative.
Every season our restaurant increases in
popularity, so you may want to make your
dining room reservations when you book
your room.
The Donahue family is keeping
itself busy. Pat and Joe just came back
from a wonderful and exciting 2 week trip
to Greece, which included 1 week on a
ship tour of the wonderful islands full of
history. Ryan has been an influential part
of the Stratton Instructional Technology
department. Brendan, who just started a
new job with Dewey Ballantine law firm, is
enjoying the New York scene. He
entertained Ryan, Bridget and Brent in
April with a whirlwind tour around New
York. Brent and Bridget are working to
keep the peace with 2 busy, but funny,
toddlers. Bree and Brynne, now 4 and
nearly 3, are maintaining their hold on
being princesses and just enjoyed nearly 2
weeks with Mooma Pat and Poopa Joe.
They are looking forward to an exciting
summer and some nice trips to Vermont.
For your own adventures, the Swiss
Inn is happy to see all of our old friends as
well as welcome new guests to their home
away from home. Please give us a call if you
have any questions or need assistance in
planning your adventure, shopping, antique,
or sporting-based vacation.
We hope to see you soon!
