Smart Paramed by APPS –
Now Available in All States!
Most of your clients can now take advantage of Smart Paramed — an all-digital paramedical exam
offered by APPS where the examiner uses a laptop to input the answers to the questions
asked during the paramedical exam.
What are the benefits of
Smart Paramed?

collected: The Smart Paramed
system guides the examiner through
John Hancock’s paramedical exam
form and prompts him/her to ask
appropriate follow-up questions
3 Creates an “in good order”
submission: The examiner is alerted
when questions are unanswered
so that the form is completed
accurately and fully
3 Allows processing to begin
sooner: The proposed insured applies
an electronic signature on a signature
pad upon completion of the exam,
and the information is electronically
delivered to John Hancock
How do I take advantage of Smart Paramed?
Simply continue to order your routine underwriting requirements as you do today
and if the paramedical exam is completed by APPS, the examiner will automatically
use this process.
Can my client decline the Smart Paramed process?
Yes. At the time of the appointment, the examiner will explain the Smart Paramed
process to your client. If your client declines this process, a traditional paper
paramedical exam will be completed.
How do I prepare my client for the Smart Paramed?
Your client should follow the same process as they would for a traditional
paramedical exam.
This service is now available in all states. Please note that Smart
Paramed is not available in Puerto Rico at this time.
