June 29, 2016
Last Sunday was a great day at FBC! We had two great services at the
church house, and then a wonderful picnic at the Lincoln Parish Park. The food
was great, the fellowship was fun, and we baptized ten people in the lake! God
gave us great weather to make it all possible. It was a wonderful, joy-filled day.
Special thanks to Brandon, Fred Baxter, Mic Baxter, Phil Soileau, Jeff
Perot, and David Williams for doing the cooking and set-up for the picnic.
Thanks also to the Rhodes family and Zach Yates for their help. Everything went
great at the park, and you guys were the ones who helped make this possible:
thank you!
I hope the rest of your week is wonderful, and I sure hope to see you
this Sunday.
Love, Chris

I would just like to take the time to thank
the people who truly made this weekend’s
picnic at the park possible. A lot of hard
work goes into making events like this possible.
First, I want to thank the grill team who are Fred,
Mic, Phil, Jeff Perot, and David Williams. These guys
really worked hard and braved the HOT grill on an
already HOT day! Second is my son, Braden Ramsey. I was in severe pain and under the weather all
day Saturday when all the prep work, loading, buying, and organizing happened. Braden gave up his
Saturday to help shop, load the trailer, ice down the
drinks, and organize the materials for me. So I am
very proud of him. Third are all the people at the
event that chipped in to help set-up, serve, and
clean up, especially the Rhodes family and Zach
Yates. I was proud to be a minister of FBC Ruston
Sunday!! Thank you.

SENIOR ADULTS
Senior Adults, be watching for a calendar that will list
all of the various activities that we will be doing this
summer.
Here is a list of some of those events.
August 11: trip to Quitman to eat catfish one night.
August 21: trip to the Bush Presidential Library.
Most of the trips will be one day events except the
Presidential Library trip. Be watching for details. It is
going to be a great summer. You can sign up online
and pay at fbcruston.org.
Van Ministry
If you know any elderly, blind, or families that
need to be picked up on Sundays for church,
please let us know. We are starting a van ministry this Sunday. We will pick-up within a 3-4
mile radius every Sunday. Our drivers will pick
up and bring them to the 8:45 am service and
then take them home after Connection Group.
We do need more volunteers to ride with our
drivers, so contact Clayton at
[email protected] to help or if you know of
anyone that would like a ride.
