Since 1974, the trademark of the Sporting
Monte-Carlo has been to host the biggest stars. These
exceptional events and dinner shows have marked
many generations. Every year, we aim maintain this
tradition while trying to innovate, in tune with the
times and forward-looking.

For 2015, we wanted artists that would present to us
new sounds, styles and trends in music and
performances. Standing concerts will become an
important part, ushering in a new and younger
audience and modernising the Festival's image.
This year we are creating a new show: JAKE AND
ELWOOD – THE BLUES BROTHERS STORY. This
beautiful tribute to Afro-American music will be
specially designed for the summer season.
Some artists are inextricably linked to our musical
history as a whole. JOHNNY HALLYDAY is one of those
artists, and that's why he will be giving two concerts.
An exceptional concert by TONY BENNETT & LADY
GAGA on the 4th of July will open the season on a very
high note. The coming together of those two
incredible jazz and pop talents promises to be as
astounding as timeless. A perfect symbol of the
history of the Sporting Monte-Carlo.
The Artistic Direction of Monte-Carlo Société des
Bains de Mer has been working hard for months to
plan the Sporting Summer Festival in the legendary
Salle des Etoiles. We are very proud to present the
most beautiful summer festival as part of the lively,
fun-filled summer season of the Principality of
Monaco.
For the first time in 2015, stand-up comedy will have
its moment in the limelight with GAD ELMALEH,
performing for the Fight Aids Monaco Night, and

Monte-Carlo Sporting Summer Festival presents a
stellar performance by pop music icons and multiple
Grammy® winners Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga on the
4th of July. The special engagement is part of a series of
presentations that celebrate their critically acclaimed
collaborative jazz album « Cheek To Cheek », which just
garnered a Grammy® Award for Best Traditional Pop
Vocal Album. From upcoming sold-out appearances at
Radio City Music Hall in New York, Royal Albert Hall in
London to the recent sold out appearances at the
Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles and a New Year’s Eve
concert at The Chelsea in Las Vegas, Bennett and Gaga
are dazzling audiences around the world and will now
take over the Sporting Monte-Carlo for this once in a
lifetime performance. In following the record’s format,
the performance will feature renditions of classic jazz
standards sung by the stars in a combination of solos
and duets. Both artists will be accompanied by their
own jazz ensembles, who will also serve as special
guests for the evening.

winning
album
« Cheek To Cheek » was released in September 2014
and instantly secured its place as a favorite of fans and
critics alike, debuting at #1 on the Billboard Top 200,
Jazz Albums, and Traditional Jazz Albums charts. The
astounding musical collaboration pays homage to tunes
from the Great American Songbook composed by jazz
legends like George Gershwin, Cole Porter,
Jerome Kern, and Irving Berlin. Some of these timeless
songs include But Beautiful, I Won’t Dance, Nature Boy,
Anything Goes, and I Can't Give You Anything but Love.
The record has been praised for effectively highlighting
the chemistry between the two artists, who span 60
years in age. Its unprecedented success makes Bennett
the oldest artist to have a #1 album on the Billboard
charts and marks Lady Gaga’s third consecutive #1
release in the last few years.
ABOUT TONY BENNETT
Tony Bennett is an artist who moves the hearts and
touches the souls of audiences. He’s not just the
singer’s singer but also an international treasure
honored by the United Nations with its Citizen of the
World award, which aptly describes the scope of his
accomplishments. The son of a grocer and Italian-born
immigrant, Anthony Dominick Benedetto was born on
August 3, 1926, in the Astoria section of Queens,
New York. He attended the High School of Industrial
Arts in Manhattan, where he nurtured his dual passions,
singing and painting. His boyhood idols Bing Crosby and
Nat King Cole were big influences on Bennett’s easy,
natural singing style. Tony sang while waiting tables as a
teenager then performed with military bands
throughout his overseas Army duty during World War II.
After the war, the GI Bill enabled him to study vocal
technique at the American Theatre Wing School.
He first sang in a nightclub in 1946, sitting in with
trombonist Tyree Glenn at the Shangri-La in Astoria.
With worldwide record sales in the millions, Tony has
received eighteen Grammy® Award including the
prestigious Grammy® Lifetime Achievement Award, is a
Kennedy Center Honoree and a NEA Jazz Master. The
MTV generation took to Tony Bennett during his
appearance with the Red Hot Chili Peppers on the 1993
MTV Video Awards. He appeared on MTV Unplugged
and the recording of the same name earned him the
Grammy® Award for Album of the Year.

Since the Monte-Carlo Sporting Summer Festival was first held in 2006, the Festival's Artistic Direction has presented
a new kind of entertainment at the Salle des Etoiles in order to diversify the cultural offerings of Monte-Carlo Société
des Bains de Mer.
In 2006, THE WHO gave the first standing concert at the Salle des Etoiles, followed by PETER GABRIEL and PINK in
2007, LENNY KRAVITZ in 2009, MIKA in 2010 and 2013, and LMFAO in 2012.
In 2014, the Festival organised more exceptional standing concerts: MARCUS MILLER & JOE SATRIANI AND GUESTS,
- M - + YODELICE + HOLLYSIZ, NEIL YOUNG & CRAZY HORSE and MACKLEMORE & RYAN LEWIS.

Christine and The Queens isn't a band but one singer,
Christine, whose actual name is Héloïse Letissier.
The beautiful 26-year-old woman with the
androgynous look moves like Michael Jackson,
admittedly her idol.
After the tracks Miséricorde, Mac Abbey and Nuit 17 à
52, Christine and The Queens released her first album
in 2014, « Chaleur Humaine », which is already a
double platinum record.
First discovered on stage alone with her computer,
then as the opening act of The DØ and Stromae, she
was the revelation of the evening during her gripping
performance at the 2014 Victoires de la Musique
award ceremony. Now accompanied by musicians and
dancers, Christine and The Queens offers an original
pop show that combines music, theatre, dance and
video.
During the 2015 Victoires de la Musique award
ceremony Christine and the Queens won the awards
for Female Artist of the Year and Video of the Year for
the song Saint Claude.

Théodore, Paul & Gabriel
An enigmatic name has always maintained the mystic need of a rock band. At first sight,
Theodore, Paul & Gabriel do not follow this rule, a simple addition of the names of its
members such as Crobsy, Stills and Nash. In reality, this is not the case. Not only are these not
exactly their names but also contrary to initial thought, the members of the band are three
young women. If the group intrigues by this gender confusion, the trio is emulated with its
music, mainly rock and folk from the 60s and 70s. After a praised first album in 2012 “Please
Her Please Him”, the band released a second disc on March 9, “We Won't Let You Down", an
ode to British pop.

Simple music that does the trick, huge hits, a sense of
humour and a unique style: this basically sums up
ZZ Top's 45-year career. Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and
Frank Beard have sold over 50 million copies since the
early 1970s. They have 15 albums under their belt with
hits such as La Grange, Sharp Dressed Man and Gimme
All Your Lovin’.
Texan trio's last work, « La Futura », was released in
2012. The album, produced by Rick Rubin (AC/DC,
Red Hot Chili Peppers), offers pure rock songs and
some bluesy tunes. Still going strong after more than
4 decades of making music!
Come see the kings of boogie-rock, ZZ Top, at a

Johnny Gallagher & The Boxtie Band
Johnny Gallagher, widely known as one of the best
European guitarists, will be the opening act that
evening. Compared to fellows Irish Rory Gallagher and
Thin Lizzy, Gallagher's music varies from rock’n’rollrhythm and blues to tender melodies on both the
electric and acoustic guitar.
As a solo artist or with his band Boxtie, Gallagher offers
a shrewd mix of original compositions and his own
personal interpretations of rock classics. A highly
charismatic and enthusiastic performer, Gallagher fills
the stage with his unique presence, infectious energy
and that “je ne sais quoi” that really gets the crowd
going.

LENNY KRAVITZ
One of the most talented musicians of the past few
decades, Lenny Kravitz will be giving a standing
concert at the Salle des Etoiles, where he will play
songs from his tenth and latest album, « Strut ». The
artist, who has sold over 40 million albums, will also
be performing hits spanning his impressive career.
"I feel as if I'm just starting out, and I'm on cruise
control", explains Kravitz, whose energy, positive
outlook and love of music come through stronger
than ever in « Strut ».
"This album takes me back to the roots of my passion
for music, to what I felt when I was in high school”,
says Kravitz. “It's a real rock'n'roll record, raw, with a
soul, and that was organic." The 12 tracks include
New York City, I Never Want To Let You Down and
She’s A Beast. The rhythmically bold songs explore
desire in all shapes and sizes, both purely physical and
idealized.

Vintage Trouble
Formed in 2010 in Hollywood, Vintage Trouble is an
American blues and rock group. With an extraordinary
stage presence, frontman Ty Taylor is a concentrated blend
of energy and talent, a mix of James Brown and Otis
Redding. Heavily influenced by the gospel repertoire, he
was a Chorister in a Baptist Church during his younger
years. Nalle Colt on guitar, Rick Barrio Dill on bass and
Richard Danielson on drums share an unconditional love
for rhythm'blues with him on stage. Their style? A "vintage"
soul returning to the 50s and 60s blues and rock. Indeed,
the group uses recording equipment from that era. Coproduced by Peter McCabe, they released their first album
«The Bomb Shelter Sessions» in 2011. Their second one
'The Swing House Acoustic Sessions' was released in 2014.

CALOGERO
Five years after « L'Embellie », the album sold at
300,000 copies thanks to the tracks C'est dit written by
Jean-Jacques Goldman, and La fin de la fin du monde,
Calogero is back, front and centre stage. In late August
2014, he released his sixth album, « Les Feux
d'Artifice », with 12 new songs that showcased his
sensitivity and commitment. The well-named album
describes the beauty of the blazing lights until the
bright glow goes down in flames with disillusionment.
« Les Feux d'Artifice » was produced and arranged by
Allan O'Connell, a British producer who has worked
with Gossip, Mark Ronson and BB Brunes. This brilliant
album shines with the characteristic overflowing
energy of British pop and its undeniable rock’n’roll
undertones. With the carefully crafted lyrics and strong
melodies that make « Les Feux d'Artifice » such a
success, Calogero reaches the top of the high-quality
pop scene.
On Friday 13th February, during the 30th Victoires de la
Musique, Calogero received the Original Song Award
for Un jour au mauvais endroit, inspired by the double
murder in Echirolles in 2012.

Justin Caldwell & the Downtown Band
Justin Caldwell is an accomplished vocalist, songwriter
and composer. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas,
Caldwell went to college in Nashville and received
degrees in Music from Belmont University. Fresh out
of the college, he began touring internationally as a
solo perfomer, and composing music for film and TV.
Since 2006, Caldwell has released 2 independent
records and toured in over 30 countries.

questions about things he has never brought up
before, such as his childhood, religion and fame.
His keen sense of observation, evident from early on in

his inimitable gestures.

Hard bop guitar legend and pop singer with titles such
as Give me the night and Turn your love around
George Benson, who used to tour with Miles Davis, is
a legendary jazz musician also known for his
instrumental albums from the 1960s and 1970s. One
such album was « Breezin' », which sold millions of
copies and was also the first jazz album to become a
platinum record ! He isn't just a jazz musician. He also
dabbles in R&B, rock and pop, and incorporates funk
and soul rhythms. Ten-time Grammy® Award winner,
George Benson, who directly inherited the elegance of
Wes Montgomery, is an eclectic artist who's hard to
predict. George Benson continues to impress us with
hits such as Givin' it up, recorded in 2006 with
Al Jarreau, his long-time friend. In his album « Songs

CAETANO VELOSO AND GILBERTO GIL
Two friends, one century of music

Founders of the tropicalist movement Caetano Veloso
and Gilberto Gil are true icons of 1960s Brazilian
music and could be compared to John Lennon and
Paul McCartney. Following imprisonment by the
Brazilian military regime, they went into exile in
London in the 1970s. They both had glorious musical
careers, after which they decided to dedicate their
time to different activities. Based in London,
Caetano Veloso became an illustrious film director,

Gilberto Gil later became Minister of Culture in Brazil
from 2003 to 2008.
Now over 70 years old, each with careers spanning
40 years, the two artists are making a comeback into
music as a duo. Singing and playing with their guitars,
the two writer-composers will be coming together for
this legendary concert to express their hearts and

was born in Newcastle, England before moving to

IL VOLO
Formed in 2009, Il Volo first enchanted audiences on
the popular Italian musical variety show « Ti Lascio
Una Canzone», that same year. Thanks to the
intuition of Michele Torpedine (also manager of
Zucchero and Andrea Bocelli), Piero Barone,
Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble became this
incredible successful trio. In November 2010, they
released their first album « Il Volo » in Italy, which
was ultimately certified platinum. Upon its worldwide
release in April 2011, this inspired collection of
standards, opera selections and soulful ballads
reached the top 10 on the Billboard Top 200 chart.
Il Volo garnered the attention of Quincy Jones who
asked the trio to participate to the charity single
We Are The World: 25 for Haiti. And
Barbra Streisand invited Il Volo to join her tour 2012
as Special Guests.

among others with Placido Domingo, Eros Ramazzotti

Tour 2015
Julien Clerc's last two musical experiences were
extreme and exhausting - both emotionally and
physically - although they were completely opposite
of each other. One had him performing accompanied
by a symphonic orchestra, while the other had him
performing simply with two pianos. The spectacular vs
the uncluttered. What could he possibly do to top
that?
It was in London that he found inspiration for his 23rd
album, « Partout la musique vient» , produced by the
talented Jimmy Hogarth (who also produced
Amy Winehouse, Duffy and James Blunt). A big fan of

British pop from the 1960s, the singer of
Ma Préférence spent 3 months in London with his
family in order to soak up the local pop atmosphere
and energy. This is the British touch that characterises
the 12 tracks of his new album.
For this new work, he sought the wordsmith and
rhyming skills of Carla Bruni, Gérard Duguet-Grasser
and Maxime Le Forestier, his very effective close-knit
team, as well as Alex Beaupain, who wrote 7 songs,
and Raphaëlle Lannadère ("L"), who wrote one.

HAIFA WEHBE
After a decade in the show business, Haifa Wehbe
continues to dominate pop music and fashion
industry. Haifa’s first album, « Houwa Al Zaman »,
released in 2002, was sold at 12 million copies.
In 2005, London’s Ministry of Sound featured two of
her dancing tracks in their official compilation and in
2009, her song Yama Layali, with renowned
DJ David Vendetta, gained international acclaim in a
« Buddha Bar » album. As Haifa continued to dazzle,
she performed with rapper 50 Cent and reggae artist
Shaggy.
In parallel with her busy recording career, Haifa has
found time to launch yet another career as a movie
actress. Her first film debut « Dukan Chahata »,
turned out to be highly successful and she was
acclaimed for her role in the movie « Halawet Rooh »
that was released in all cinemas across the Middle
East.
Haifa Wehbe has also devoted a considerable amount

FLORENCE FORESTI
Madame Foresti
Florence Foresti began working as a graphic designer
before performing in a café theatre in 1998 with the
Taupes models.
Following successful runs on the TV shows
« Bern Academy » and « Laurent Ruquier », Foresti
was the opening act for Anne Roumanoff. In 2001 she
got her own show, « Manquerait plus qu’elle soit
drôle », which received the Jury Award at the Antibes
Festival.
In December 2013, Foresti announced her upcoming
show, the 5th of her career, declaring:
"I'm gone 5 minutes and the country falls apart. I have
to get back on the stage as soon as possible to
straighten up this mess."

The Blues Brothers are coming to town as part of the
Monte Carlo Summer Sporting Festival. Jake and
Elwood Blues, together with their Blues Band dancers
and singers roll into town for their explosive Blues

From Nashville, Tennessee, Justin Caldwell will bring
to the Festival a new sound to entertain dinners and
opening acts.
Justin Caldwell is an accomplished vocalist,
songwriter and composer. Born and raised in Dallas,
Texas, Caldwell went to college in Nashville and
received degrees in Music from Belmont University.
Fresh out of the college, he began touring
internationally as a solo perfomer, and composing
music for film and TV. Since 2006, Caldwell has
released 2 independent records and toured in over
30 countries.
