A precise concept
– unbeatable accuracy
“As the trigger finger of a rifleman is sensitive
and educated to the tiniest
degrees of squeezing to approach and release
the discharge of his piece, so
it is with his wrists that a bullfighter controls
and makes the delicacy of
art with the cape and muleta.”

Nammo Lapua
A precise concept – unbeatable
accuracy
Lapua is the name for accuracy in the shooting
world
Established in 1923, Lapua’s cartridge factory is world renowned
for its superb products and, above all, high-performance
cartridges. Continuous contact with shooting enthusiasts is
the cornerstone of our innovative R&D strategy.
Nammo Lapua is a part of the large Scandinavian Nammo
group, with its core production area focusing on small arms
ammunition and components for civilian, military and law
enforcement use.
The world’s most complete and versatile range
at your service
Whatever your shooting passion, you will find the ideal cartridge
match for your firearm or ammunition need in Lapua’s product
range. Many of our products are legendary among shooters
and hunters. For example, the world-class .388 Lapua Magnum
is proof positive of Lapua’s renowned commitment to
manufacturing excellence.
Aficionado*, do you recognize yourself?
You are an uncompromising shooting enthusiast or hunter, who trusts the
precision of your sight, the sureness of your hand and the value of experience.
You also believe in your superior firearm and the cartridges you use. And
since only you know your firearm intimately, you may consider loading your
own cartridges with Lapua’s outstanding reloading components.
Lapua is not a brand for the masses. It is the choice of the true and
uncompromising aficionado – the marksman who can hit the target.
Ernest Hemingway was a writer and winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature,
a big game hunter, war correspondent and bullfighting aficionado. In his novel
‘Death in the Afternoon’, Hemingway describes the aficionado as a person
who not only understands bullfighting in general but also appreciates its
subtle nuances – the particulars only a true believer can grasp. For Hemingway,
the aficionado spirit covers all human endeavor.
*Aficionado – an ardent devotee (Webster´s Encyclopaedic Unabridged
Dictionary of English Language)
Our product range includes cartridges for .22 rimfire, rifles,
pistols and revolvers in a broad selection of caliber, as well as
high quality components such as bullets, cases and powder
for reloading.
An opening shot for a lead-free world – from Lapua
Environmental protection is a particular challenge for today’s
cartridge manufacturers. As a world first we have invested in
broad-based and environmentally friendly product development.
Our new lines include the Non-toxic and Green Concept products.
These environmentally friendly cartridges include lead-free
primer and compatible powder as well as encapsulated and

The Lapua Hall of Fame – without comparison
The Lapua success story began in 1930 when the first Lapua
rifle cartridge shot its way to a world championship. In short
succession, Lapua cartridges have delivered an unbroken
chain of victories, including countless Olympic victories,
world championships and world records in different shooting
disciplines. The world’s best marksmen choose Lapua
cartridge.

Rimfire cartridges
MIDAS M/L
Lapua Midas is the world’s most accurate
.22 LR cartridge. Available in two versions:
L, bullet diameter 5.69 and M, bullet diameter
5.67. This allows the shooter to select the
right round that matches the bore dimensions
of his rifle.
MASTER M/L
Lapua .22 hits the mark – from victory to victory
Lapua has over fifty years of experience in the manufacture
of .22 rimfire cartridges. The top precision of these cartridges
is borne out by many marksmanship prizes and world records.
The success of Lapua cartridges has been exceptional –
especially in ISSF disciplines, in benchrest shooting, biathlon
and 60 shots prone .22 LR competitions. Your choice of
cartridge and firearm is undoubtedly a deciding factor in these
most demanding of events.
Midas is the gold standard
Midas is Lapua’s high-precision flagship rimfire cartridge.
In fact, Lapua .22 LR Midas cartridges hold the world record
for the 60 shots prone event and the BR-50 Rimfire Benchrest.
To ensure your firearm delivers superb accuracy, Lapua Midas
is available in two bullet diameter: Midas L 5.69 mm and
Midas M 5.67 mm.
The right choice for your application
Whether you are an international class competition shooter,
small game hunter or a recreational shooter, Lapua’s cartridge
range offers something for everyone.
Characteristic to all Lapua rimfire ammunition are outstanding
quality, reliable ignition, clean cycling with automatic weapons
and outstanding accuracy.
An excellent competition cartridge and good
all-rounder, the Master bullet weighs 2.59 g
(40 gr) and is available in the same bullet
alternatives as the Midas (M = 5.67 and
L = 5.69).
The brand new PISTOL KING
A high quality pistol cartridge with new case
and primer compound that make the shooting
experience smoother than ever. The bullet
weighs 2.59 g (40 gr). Pistol King is the
accurate choice for pistols and revolvers.
POLAR BIATHLON
The ideal cartridge for biathlon and shooting
events in the cold. The bullet weighs 2.59 g
(40 gr). A top accuracy cartridge for
guaranteed reliability, even in arctic cold.
SCOREMAX
A rimfire cartridge with a muzzle velocity of
315 m/s and heavier bullet 3.1 g (48 gr).
Ideal for small game and and varmint hunting,
Scoremax is less sensitive to crosswind drift
than a lighter rimfire bullet. The payoff is
maximum striking energy and a stable
trajectory.
SPEED ACE
The competition shooting cartridge with a
muzzle velocity of 390 m/s and a bullet weight
of 2.59 g (40 gr). Speed Ace has been
developed for moving targets but is also
suitable for other types of shooting that
requires high muzzle velocity.
HOLLOW POINT
Vigilio Fait one of the most successful
pistol shooters, uses Lapua .22 LR Pistol
King both in training and competition.
Hollow Point is the right choice for smallgame hunters with its high muzzle velocity
and expanding hollow point bullet. Muzzle
velocity is 390 m/s and the bullet weighs
2.35 g (36 gr).
SUBSONIC HOLLOW POINT
Magdalena Forsberg is at the moment
one of the most successful biathlonists
in the world. Her competition ammunition
is Lapua .22 LR Polar Biathlon and in
training she shoots with Lapua . 22 LR
Standart Club.
Subsonic Hollow Point is a low velocity
rimfire cartidge with an expanding hollow
point bullet at 2.35 g (36 gr). This cartridge
is ideal for varmint hunting and target
practice, delivering good accuracy and stealth
in silenced weapons.
SUPER CLUB
The standard cartridge for long rifles and
pistol shooting. The bullet weighs 2.59 g
(40 gr) and is the affordable choice with
excellent performance.
STANDARD CLUB
This all-round cartridge is packaged in tins
containing 500 rounds.

Extreme disciplines
Whatever the weather or .22 discipline, Lapua’s impressive selection of .22 LR ammunition provides you with the right ammunition.
In fact, Lapua’s .22 LR ammunition consistently outperforms its rivals in shooting competition and impartial tests. For example,
in an Italian test Lapua .22 LR Pistol King showed its superiority against 27 other ammunition types in comparative pistol shooting
(Free Pistol and Standard Pistol). In a comparative rifle test, Lapua’s .22 LR ammunition outscored even the latest newcomers to
the competition.
USA .22 LR ammunition accuracy test
Date of the test: September 2001
Ammunition selection: Samples were taken from retail
purchases from several manufacturers.
Lots: one lot per brand.
Weather conditions: same for all products.
Barrel length: 24-inch barrel.
Chronograph: remained constant during the test.
Shooting distance: 50 yards.
Groups: 5 shot groups.
Result given: average group size for five groups.
Other measured values: velocity, bullet weight, rim thickness,
powder weight, primer compound variation.
THE MEANING OF A PRODUCTION LOT
Cartridges and cartridge components can be identified with the help of a
production lot number. For a competition shooter, this number is the ideal tool for identifying
ammunition. For instance, if a shooter has discovered a cartridge that delivers exceptional
Lapua accuracy at 50 meters in specifications
(10 shots):
accuracy, he may look for similar cartridges in the same production lot.
• Midas M = 13 mm/.51 inches
• Midas L = 13 mm/.51 inches
• Master L = 20 mm/.78 inches
The test was shot with 5 types of Lapua .22 LR and 4 types of
widely recognized quality products from competing cartridge
manufacturers.
Although there may be minute differences between production lots, the cartridges in a single
production lot are usually identical.

Yet another revolutionary ammunition from Lapua!
.22 LR Lapua Signum
High-quality multipurpose
cartridge
Lapua Signum is the first .22 caliber
cartridge that can offer the shooter
similar additional properties as those
that have been obtained with coated
bullets of center fire calibers.
The bullet maintains its properties!
The lubricant decreases the friction caused by the bullet to the
rifling, especially at the initial phase of the shot. The greater
the pressure to the tail of the bullet is, the less control you have
over bullet disfigurement. Deformed bullets leave lead in the
rifling. Thanks to good lubrication, the bullet will rotate evenly
through the rifling and the tail of the bullet will not be disfigured
asymmetrically.
Best of all, Lapua Signum’s superior internal ballistics ensures
that the external ballistic properties of the bullet can be retained
without compromising quality.

Groundbreaking structure
• The tip of the bullet has specially designed, symmetrical lubrication grooves
• The longitudinal and crosswise grooves on the bullet lubricate the inside wall of the barrel evenly
• The advanced structure of the bullet carries about 50 % more lubricant than conventional lead bullets
• The active lubrication area is longer and affects efficiency as early as the barrel throat
• Optimal lubrication diminishes the temperature and humidity effects of the surrounding air

Silver Jacket – the peak achievement of research
and product development
Silver Jacket is a hollow point bullet coated with molybdenum
disulfide by Lapua’s own proprietary process.
This coating reduces both friction between the bullet and the
barrel as well as wear on the barrel itself. It also delivers tighter
groupings by preventing the build up of copper inside the barrel.
To make barrel cleaning easier, Silver Jacket bullets contain no
wax. Silver Jacket coating increases barrel life and reduces the
variation between long shooting series. For reloaders, the Silver
Jacket coating allows you to load higher muzzle
velocities without exceeding maximum pressures.

.338 Lapua Magnum
– simply the world’s best
long range precision cartridge
The .338 Lapua Magnum cartridge outperforms all
other .30 caliber cartridges at longer ranges.
For distances over 1000 m (1100 yards) the .338 Lapua
Magnum proves its undeniable superiority. The .338 caliber
Full Metal Jacket Boat Tail bullet weighs 16.2 g (250 gr) and
delivers a flat and low drift trajectory even in the strongest
cross wind. The Lapua Magnum is suitable for all
long-range target shooting and hunting, as well as military
and law enforcement use.
Lapua offers a broad range of .338 Lapua Magnum caliber
cartridges loaded with different types of bullets. The .338 Lock
Base is the military standard, while the .338 Scenar HPBT is
ideal for the long-range sports shooter. The hardcore version
is the .338 AP485 armour piercing bullet, which at 500 meters
can punch a hole through a 15 mm armor steel plate.

BALLISTIC TABLES
A ballistic table is a numeric expression of the trajectory of a bullet.
Ballistic tables are usually computed with readily available exterior ballistics programs for PCs.
640
Such tables allow a shooter to estimate the trajectory, time of flight, remaining velocity/energy
and wind drift of his bullet.
690
The calculation of ballistics tables is based on the ballistic coefficient of the bullet.
The ballistic coefficient describes the bullet’s ability to maintain its velocity and is usually
determined by test shooting. Additional variables are exact muzzle velocity, the sight height and
the sight-in range. The result is a tabulated table or graph from which you can see the change

Mega – superb penetration and bullet expansion
.308 Win
7.62x51
The Lapua Mega is designed for big game hunting. This bullet
is at its best in the field and its penetration is matched by its
quadruple expansion on impact, which causes immediate shock
in the quarry.
The Mega is a soft point bullet with a protective copper jacket.
This innovative feature guarantees that bullet’s lead alloy core
remains intact when loading the magazine or shooting through
brush or branch. In addition, Mega’s advanced lead alloy core
achieves up to 97% weight retention.
Pure copper jacket is

The A-Frame construction and proprietary bonding technique
insure 95%+ weight retention, even on large game with heavy
bones. A-FrameTM performance is unmatched by other offerings:
the tapered sidewalls of the upper chamber allow expansion
to begin at relatively low velocity levels, with progressively
greater control achieved as the walls thicken, until upset is
completely stopped at the rigid A-FrameTM cross member.

A-Frame bullets also mushroom in
a controlled manner, with maximum
expansion and 95% weight retention
for unequaled stopping power.

Matched pairs – the best combination
for the practice shooter and hunter
Trainer for training, Mega for hunting – without
adjusting your sights!
The Lapua Trainer practice cartridges and Mega hunting
cartridges deliver identical trajectories thanks to Lapua’s special
bullet construction. Now, you can practice and hunt with your
weapon without having to adjust your sights. E.g. the .308
caliber trainer bullet weighs 8.0 g and the Mega 12.0 g. The
Trainer offers great value for money and its low recoil makes
it an excellent practice cartridge.

Lapua .32 S&W Long Wadcutter high class accuracy
and functionality
Impressive expertise, innovative R&D and legendary production
standards all distinguish Lapua’s uncompromising commitment
of quality. This means that our pistol and revolver cartridges
offer extreme accuracy and world-class reliability in action.
For competition shooters, this dedication to superior quality
has made Lapua the cartridge of choice. In fact, Lapua cartridges
have achieved ultimate favour among CISM and ISSF
competitors, with 80% of them choosing the Lapua .32 S&W
cartridge for optimal on-target performance.
BARREL CARE
Proper barrel care will help prolong the accuracy life of your barrel. To stress
the importance of the proper barrel cleaning, the military arsenal tests have
demonstrated that barrels which are properly cleaned show accurate barrel life
up to 10000 rounds while the accuracy of a new barrel can be destroyed by
improper barrel care during one hunting season!
To clean your rifle barrel you need:
1. High-quality cleaning rod
2. Bronze bristle brush and tip
3. Barrel cleaning solvent of good reputation, formulated to dissolve metal
fouling
4. Patches
5. A chamber guide to center the cleaning rod and to protect the throat from
small dents and nicks caused by rod tip contact with the barrel.
To clean barrel proceed as follows:
1. Using a bronze cleaning brush saturated with barrel cleaning solvent, clean
the barrel with at least ten strokes. To preserve the critical muzzle rifling, brush
the barrel from the receiver end using a chamber guide. Automatics, slide, and
lever actions must be cleaned from the muzzle end.
2. Pass as many patches through the barrel as necessary to remove the solvent.
necessary, you may leave the solvent in the barrel for a longer period according
to the manufacturer’s instructions. A clean patch inserted after this time will
give you an indication of the fouling present in the barrel, by the green or blue
residue on the patch. WARNING: Do not mix ammonium and petroleum based
bore solvents. They may react with each others resulting to organic acids that
are harmful not only for black barrels but for stainless ones, too!
3. Thoroughly wipe the chamber area dry. Two patches over the rod tip usually
provide enough bulk to make this an easy step.
4. If you are going to store your rifle for a longer period, oil your rifle barrel
to prevent corrosion simply by passing an oiled patch through the barrel. Store
your rifle horizontally or muzzle down to prevent the oil from seeping to the
breech. Don't forget to wipe it dry before the next shooting!
Tip: If you have to store the firearm the muzzle upwards chamber the firearm
with a fired cartridge case. That will prevent the oil from flowing into the action.
Our bullets offer two alternatives
Lapua offers two versions of .32 S&W
Long Wadcutter cartridges with unbeatable accuracy.
The 98grs/6.35 g bullet is designed for competition shooting.
The lighter 83 grs/5.35 g bullet, because of its low recoil,
is ideal for military rapid fire shooting and for shooters who
require lower recoil. This means that Lapua is able to offer
two top class alternatives to all CISM and ISSF centerfire
pistol events.
Exceptional accuracy
According to Lapua specifications the accuracy of both
bullet types must not exceed 30 mm (10 shots groups at
25 meters, measured from center to center of the outer
bullet holes). When tested with other firearms, in truth,
Lapua cartridges deliver groups clearly under 30 mm and
a group of 15 mm or less is not exceptional.
Lapua – the winner’s choice
The international shooting community value the Lapua
.32 S&W cartridge’s accuracy and low muzzle velocity.
In fact, many national teams have selected Lapua as their
number one cartridge. In the annual CISM world
championships, about 80 % of shooters use the Lapua
.32 Wadcutter cartridge.

When CEPP is fired at a 15-degree angle towards
a hard target such as a brick wall, the bullet does
not fragment. A regular 9 mm FMJ bullet is
deflected at an angle of 30 degrees.
Megashock – the hollow point
bullet for law enforcement
In action
CEPP works with all modern pistols and machine
guns in a wide range of temperatures.
Penetration capability
All CEPP bullets can penetrate car doors,
windows and other light structures without
tumbling or losing their ability to penetrate soft
targets. Cepp penetrates soft materials like wood
and paper even at angles of 15 degrees. Cepp
Super can also be shot through two 1.5 mm
steel sheets 10 mm apart (hardness 37 kp/mm).
MEGASHOCK
Megashock’s superb penetration of soft targets is based on
its expansion that causes controlled stopping (shock) effect.
The bullet will not ricochet when fired at a wooden target at
an angle of 20 to 30 degrees. It also delivers exceptional ontarget penetration at the most acute angle.
A large hollow point initiates controlled expansion,
causing an immediate stopping effect.
Megashock bullets keep an extreme high residual weight
upon impact.
In addition, Megashock bullets offer exceptional weight
retention on impact. Since they do not ricochet, fragment or
otherwise splinter, Megashock bullets cause no collateral
damage to bystanders. Megashock hollow point bullets are
manufactured in 9 mm caliber.

First class Lapua bullets and cases when your goal
is ultimate marksmanship from your own weapon
For many serious competition shooters and hunters – real
aficionados – reloading is a holy art. It’s an extremely finetuned procedure that requires skill, experience and optimum
components.
To manufacture the ideal cartridge, the bullets and cases must
fulfill the highest quality specifications – naturally enough not
forgetting the importance of the powder. The combination of
Lapua bullets and cases is the perfect assurance of accuracy.
Lapua bullets
Lapua manufactures undeniably the world’s best precision
bullets with outstanding ballistic qualities. The precision of our
bullets is based on their uncompromising and even quality.
Only the best raw materials are accepted for production and
all bullets must fulfill the toughest of precision demands.
This means that each bullet is subject to visual inspection and
tested with advanced measurement devices. Accuracy and
trajectory are tested by firing.
Handgun case test
We tested four different .358/.38 Magnum cases for stretching
over a ten-reload period. The tests were conducted with .357
Magnum and .38 Super cases.
The case were measured for lenght, size of the primer pocket
and case bottom. They were also measured before the test and
after each reloading.
The test proved that new Lapua cases are more accurate and
durable than competitors’ cases.
Lapua Shooting and Reloading Manual includes all the loading
information you need and is on sale at all Lapua outlets.
