This assessment report presents results of drill
hole WC-79-1 drilled by AMAX during the period October 23 November 2, 1979 on the Wilson Creek property. This four
claim (49 unit) property, situated 3 km north-east of
Rosebery, B.C. on the east side of Wilson Creek, was optioned
by AMAX from Mr. Peter Leontowicz of Hills, B.C. in late 1978
Diamond drill hole WC-79-1, driven to a depth of
203 m ( 6 6 6 ’ ) , encountered successively dark grey argillite,
purple hornfelsed argillite and light grey intrusive breccia.
No significant mineralization was encountered.
$13,200.00 from a field cost of $24,421.45 was
applied as assessment to Lemax 1, Lemax 2 and Ferry No. 2
claims for a period of two years.

DIAMOND DRILLING
General Statement
One NQ diamond drill hole was driven to a depth of
203 m (666'). The drill hole was collared at elevation 963 m
on unit 14 of Lemax 1 claim. It was collared at an inclinaContractor for the job
tion of -45' on a bearing of N80'E.
was Connors Drilling of Vancouver, B.C. using a Longyear
Super 38 drill.
Core recovery averaged 98%. All core was logged
and 1.5 m (5') splits were taken at least every 7.6 m (25')
for geochemical analysis. Split samples were submitted to
Rosshacher Laboratory, Burnaby, B.C. and analyzed for Mo,W,F,
Cu,Pb and Zn. Core was stored at the residence of
Mr. Peter Leontowicz at Hills, B.C.
Results
The drill hole intersected, in succession, dark grey
banded argillite, purple and bleached hornfelsed argillite
with minor limestone, and intrusive breccia. Bedding in the
argillite and hornfelsed argillite is subparallel to core axis,
dipping -40' to -50' to the east. Hence essentially the same
beds are intersected between the drill hole collar and the
intrusive breccia at depth. Hornfels, intersected between 76 m
and 165 m, is interpreted as a thermal metamorphic product
developed peripheral to the intrusive breccia.
The contact of the intrusive breccia, as projected
from surface to its intersection at 165 m in DDH WC-79-1, is
vertical. The breccia is overall light grey or pale green in
colour, and contains fragments of purple and bleached hornfels
(65%), white recrystallized limestone ( l o % ) , medium grained
quartz monzonite (2%) and bull quartz (<1%) in a calcareous,
comminuted rock matrix (20%). Fragments are subround to
angular and range in size from <1 cm to 2 m.
4
Mineralization consists of minor but uniformly
distributed quartz-pyrrhotite-pyrite veinlets in hornfels, and
minor quartz-pyrrhotite-sphalerite veinlets in intrusive
breccia. The breccia contains additionally irregular clots up
to 2-3 cm of pyrrhotite, pyrite, sphalerite and quartz.
Traces of scheelite were noted on fractures and in quartz veins
in breccia.
Geochemically, intrusive breccia is enhanced in F,W
and Zn and depleted in Cu relative to argillite and hornfelsed
argillite. Mo content ranged up to 8 ppm maximum in the
analyzed samples. Sample numbers and analytical results are
entered in the drill log (Appendix 11).
