Lynne Taylor Donovan
Augusta Ray
Cortni Bird
Canadian Lynne has been a Hotdisc client from day one
but until a few months ago had never topped the chart
but she finally did it with The Strong One.
Now she has her follow-up single completed and Am I
Dreaming is the name of it. This one is not as instantly
catchy but it is a grower and when it does take hold of
you it will be stuck in your mind for weeks!
Hotdisc is delighted to welcome Augusta from Canada,
or Gus if you like, who is one exciting talent.
She lists as her influences Led Zeppelin, Shania Twain
and Jimi Hendrix!
She commands every stage she appears on and writes
some amazing songs which have already won her fans.
She splits her time between Canada and Nashville and
we think that once European audiences get to know
her, she may have to split into three areas of
concentration.
Cortni launched her European career via Hotdisc earlier
this year and now she is back with a new single.
She is certainly not lacking in confidence. ‘I’m ready to
take on the world’, says the feisty youngster who lives
life to the full.
She agrees with her friends’ assessment of her.
Unpredictable, untamable and unchangeable!
Denny Strickland
Denny’s acoustic singles this year have certainly been
well received but he now brings out a single called Get
A Grip.
He is one of the fastest rising stars on the scene thanks
to former Johnny Cash band member, Marshall Grant
who is now his manager.
He consistently comes up with catchy songs and videos
and this new single is sure to increase his stock value
even more.
Top: Penny Jayne Black; Tony Clarke
Middle: Denny Strickland; Lynne Taylor Donavon.
Bottom: Cortni Bird; Augusta Ray.
Penny Jayne Black
Another first timer on Hotdisc, her new single is
California and one she wrote.
This young writer from the UK is also a singer and
actress and has had Country music deep in her roots for
many years.
While travelling in America she fell in love with the
USA which has become a source of inspiration for her
music.
Tony Clarke
Tony burst onto the scene a few years ago as a new
British singer/songwriter and his music has been largely
accepted by European djs with plenty of support for his
music.
It’s disappointing that his talent hasn’t been recognised
yet in some quarters but with quality tunes like his new
single, Didn’t We, surely it’s just a matter of time before
he gets the success he deserves.

Amazingly we’ve flown past our 50th edition of the Hotdisc Top 20 tv show which is now on Sky TV Channel 389, Freeview
87 and FreeSat 516 on the 24 hour Country channel, Keep It Country. The reaction we have had from viewers and clients
has been overwhelming and the slick presenter-free format means we can get down to the nitty gritty of playing nothing
but music.
We play music from all 20 songs in the Hotdisc Chart as well as new releases, flashbacks and sessions and you can see the
show every Monday night at 6pm, Thursdays at 4pm and Friday nights into Saturday mornings until 1am.
We are delighted too to announce our Hotdisc Awards show on the first Monday in January which will reflect the success of
the best British and International tracks on Hotdisc in 2016, giving awards based totally on chart performance as put
together by the European Country music djs. I have always been outspoken about the many awards that exist in all areas
of showbusiness which are given away like sweets with no merit attached to them. Often award shows are used as
marketing exercises with people asked to take to social media to vote for their favourites. Usually this has nothing to do
with quality and all to do with how many ‘friends’ people can generate. Nothing to do with merit. I get so many emails
and messages from people asking me to vote for certain people in certain polls so that it can boost their egos and win
awards that are frankly meaningless. It may be the accepted way of doing things these days but count me out. Genuine
awards given on merit with no other motive or hidden agenda is absolutely fine and it will be refreshing that the Hotdisc
award winners will have earned them.
Away from my soapbox I am currently putting my money where my mouth is and giving away nearly £4,000 in
promotional slots on Hotdisc to 20 British and Irish acts who have never appeared on Hotdisc before. Each slot is worth
£195 and there are absolutely no catches and yes, this really is a free lunch! So if you’ve never tried us before, we’ll get
your music out to our network of hundreds of djs free of charge. There are no obligations to purchase any slot in the future
but of course I hope that those trying Hotdisc for the first time will have a positive experience and will see the value other
acts have been enjoying since 1998. So if you want in then get in touch by email to [email protected] and even if
you are not one of the first 20 who apply, we will be giving every other act a slot for just £50 to be used in the next year,
that’s nearly 75 percent off. Either way you cannot lose, so get in touch because we try and promote more and more British
acts via Hotdisc and give them access to radio and of course tv.
This month sees new acts taking part in Hotdisc for the first time including Aaron Tracy, Campbell Station, KayLyn, Mallory
Johnson, Clint Bradley, Kerry Fearon and Chloe Chadwick, with the likes of Rett Russell, Smith & Wesley, Kevin Davin Fine,
Mary Duff, Kathy Crinion, Michelle Banting, Rusty Rierson and Donovan Lee all returning with strong new singles.
