TIP: Integrate Gold Seal
into Your HR Strategy
Boost your firm’s commitment to
professional development and
ongoing education by incorporating
Gold Seal Certification into your
human resources strategy. Gold
Seal can be part of your company’s
recruiting, retention, compensation
and advancement.
Many firms have established Career
Development Plans as part of their
performance management system.
Modern performance management
systems are set up to steer skills
development toward market
opportunities. Compensation systems
and employee relation approaches are
used to build the most effective team
and to deliver long-term results for the
company.
Including Gold Seal Certification
at any level of your existing plan
can assist employees in setting and
reaching their career goals as well as
supporting professional development.
Examples:
- Ask for Gold Seal Certification in
job postings (and post your jobs on
the Gold Seal website!)
- Require new employees to register
as Gold Seal Interns and work
towards certification
- Require eligible employees to
commit to attaining certification
within a specified time period
- Require Gold Seal Certified (GSC)
employees to strive to achieve
professional status by continuously
developing their skill sets and
applying for Professional Gold Seal
Certified (P.GSC)

Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu
is nestled majestically between
the sea and the mountains in La
Malbaie, approximately 150 km east
of Quebec City. Rich in tradition,
it blends the quiet charm of the
countryside with the sophistication
of a world-class resort.
Guide on Cost Predictability
Large discrepancies between pre-tender
estimates and actual bids are a common and
an increasing problem for the development
and construction industry, jeopardizing the
viability of projects. A new guide, prepared
by a joint taskforce consisting of senior
representatives from the construction
industry and the federal government,
offers practical advice on ways to improve
construction project cost predictability.
Guide to Cost PrediCtability
in ConstruCtion:
an analysis of

Useful to both owners and contractors
