Sabah Hub for the Far East
Datuk Seri Panglima Musa
Haji Aman
Chief Minister of Sabah
“Sabah-Hub for the Far East speaks of optimism for the
State to be lifted to a higher economic status given its rich
resources and strategic location within Asean economies.
Coupled with social and political stability, Sabah provides a
conductive environment not only for business but also travel
and living”.
The Sabah International Expo (SIE) is Sabah’s premier
business fair and a State Government-sanctioned trade
exposition. It is held biennially in Kota Kinabalu City, Sabah,
Malaysia.
SIE 2014 will be the eight since its inception. It is being jointly
organized by the State Government of Sabah, the Federation
of Sabah Industries (FSI) and the Malaysian International
Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MICCI) Sabah Branch.
Since the inaugural event in 2000, SIE has become one of the
largest and most successful trade events in BIMP-EAGA
(Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines - East Asean Growth
Area).
The main objective of SIE is to provide a platform for
exhibitors from near and far to meet; to establish business
contacts; to showcase latest products and services that meet
the demand of the BIMP-EAGA markets specifically and
ASEAN markets broadly.
To compliment the exposition, an International Business
Luncheon Talk will be organized simultaneously with the
exposition to enable exhibitors, business leaders, policy
makers, investors, venture capitalists, CEOs and others in the
surrounding region or beyond to meet; to exchange latest
business ideas; to identify trade and investment
opportunities; and to learn more about doing business in the
BIMP-EAGA and ASEAN.
International Participations
Exhibitors at SIE2014 are expected to come from more than 20
countries. The event capitalizes on Sabah being the regional
hub for the BIMP-EAGA region, a grouping at sub-regional
