Douglas M. Krahn, MD
Bariatric Surgeon
Medical Director, St. Bernardine Medical Center Surgical Weight Loss
Dr. Krahn has served as the medical director for Surgical Weight Loss Services at
St. Bernardine since 2003. Fellowship trained in bariatric surgery at Broward
Center for Obesity Surgery in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, he is among the top actively
practicing bariatric surgeons in Southern California.
After receiving undergraduate and MD degrees from the University of California,
Davis, Dr. Krahn completed his general surgery residency at Loma Linda University
Medical Center in Loma Linda, California, where he is currently an assistant
clinical professor in the Department of Surgery. Dr. Krahn is a member of the
American Society for Bariatric Surgery, the American Medical Association and
a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has performed over 2,000
bariatric surgeries.
Channing Chin, MD
Bariatric Surgeon
Dr. Chin is a surgeon trained in the specialty of minimally invasive bariatric surgery.
He completed his surgical residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of
New Jersey, in Newark, and his fellowship in laparoscopic bariatric surgery at the
N.E.W. Program in Newport Beach, California. He received his medical degree
from St. George’s University, Grenada, West Indies. Dr. Chin is a long-time
member of the American Federation for Medical Research, the American College
of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.

Hospital Surgical Weight Loss Staff
Surgical Weight Loss services at St. Bernardine are provided in a dedicated
center with specially trained staff members who have the expertise and
insight to care for the unique needs of bariatric surgery patients. From the
surgical suite to your patient room and discharge to your home, oversight
of your care is in the hands of qualified professionals.
Kimberly Do, RN, CBN
Surgical Weight Loss Program Coordinator
Kim Do is an American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery certified bariatric
nurse. She has been with the St. Bernardine Surgical Weight Loss program since 2007
and has been a bariatric nurse since 2002. Her role as patient advocate and clinical care
coordinator is to assist you throughout the process, beginning with your initial inquiry
and assuring your smooth transition into and out of the hospital. She and the rest of the
team are dedicated to providing outstanding service and supporting your successful
outcome through education, coordination of services, care and compassion.
Rebecca Lambert, RN, PCCN
Surgical Weight Loss Nurse Manager
Becky Lambert has served as a nurse manager at St. Bernardine since 1999. She is
a registered nurse with a prestigious PCCN credential granted by the American Association
of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) to those who demonstrate nursing expertise in the care
of acutely ill adult patients. She is a member of the AACN and the Inland Area Nurse
Leadership Council.
Cecilia Jacobson, RN, PCCN, PHN
Surgical Weight Loss Associate Manager
Cecilia Jacobson has been with St. Bernardine Medical Center since 1999 as an ICU
nurse and later as manager. She has been working in her current position since 2008.
As with Becky Lambert, her credentials go beyond the standard. She is a registered
nurse with a PCCN certification from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses,
and she is a certified public health nurse.
