BENT TREE BULLETIN
APRIL, 2015
Volume 7, Number 4
BTVE office is staffed Monday—Friday ~ 8:00am—3:00pm
The office is open to the residents: Monday—Friday ~ 9am—2pm
PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
2015 BOARD OF DIRECTORS
President, Bob Bruckner
As the season draws to a close and residents begin to depart BTVE, Vice-President, John Tomaszewski
I would like to remind everyone to stop by the office and pick up a copy of
Secretary, Peggy Morales
“How to Secure Your Home”. It will list all the things you should do before Treasurer, Richard Iavarone
you leave for an extended period.
Director, Susan Blecka
This year’s big project will be repairing and resealing the roads in our
Director, Michael Hubin
community. We have met with several paving companies and should have
Director, Larry Waters
bids for the April Board Workshop. Hopefully, we will begin the project in
early May.
APRIL HIGHLIGHTS
Susan Camardella, Association Manager and Larry Waters, Board
Member met with Comcast in an effort to renegotiate our contract and
obtain some additional savings for our unit owners and the Association as
a whole. Comcast is preparing a new contract for Board review and
approval which could potentially save the community approximately
$180,000 over the life of the contract. It would reduce the monthly cost to
our residents, as well. I hope to have the contract for review in April, and,
if all goes well, it will be in place by May 1st.
Please remember to consult your copy of the “Rules We Live By”
anytime you want to do anything to the outside of your unit, including the
common property around your unit. Unit owners need to get the
permission of the Board to replace outside doors, lights and to plant any
kind of tree, shrub or flowers around your unit. If you are not sure about
the rules, please stop by the office and Susan would be happy to give you
the Boards interpretation of these rules. We have several unit owners who
have received violation notices in the past few months and had to remove
plantings, mulch, etc. It would be easier to ask the office before you begin
a project. If the Association needs to remove unapproved items, the unit
owner will be billed for the cost.
I would like to wish all our seasonal residents safe passage to their
summer destinations. Please remember to update the emergency contact
form filed in the office. Leave a key with the office or a neighbor/friend,
that will be here for the time you are away, in case of emergency.
Bob Bruckner, President

BENT TREE BULLETIN
A WORD FROM THE OFFICE
WORD FOR THE MONTH … THANK YOU … I would like to thank
Pam Bruckner and Geri Freedman for their magic eyes each month. They
proofread the newsletter for content, spelling and grammar. THANK YOU!!!!
I am sorry to see the season come to an end, but it has been a great year. Everyone enjoyed
many activities including Men’s Club, Woman’s Club, Bingo, Bowling, Tai Chi, Shows,
Holiday Parties and Dances. Continuing through the summer will be PageTurner’s, Casino Trips,
Movie Nights, all Exercises Classes, Cards, and the Learning Lunches.
The community looked beautiful this season, with so many of our residents planting flowers
around the trees. Remember, if you are leaving for the summer, remove these flowers so the
landscapers can maintain the beds. It is the unit owner’s responsibility to maintain these beds
once they plant flowers in them.
Be sure when you leave, to bring in all lawn furniture, any potted plants you may have on your
patio or driveway, your bbq grill, and remove any items that may become a hindrance if a
hurricane should come our way. The hurricane trimming of all trees has been completed and
Palm Atlantic did a GREAT job! I can honestly say, I have never seen things looking so good!
For all those leaving, be safe and know you will be missed. Be sure to leave your email
address with the office if you wish to have the newsletters sent to you. If you do not have an
email address, leave self-address stamped envelopes and we will mail you copies.
Happy Passover and Happy Easter ….. Your BTVE Staff
