With more days at sea, we’ve added some dynamic, new onboard activities for 2012 sailings that cross the Atlantic. In addition to our
regular Celebrity Life◊ activities, each transatlantic voyage will offer additional highly-respected and engaging enrichment guests and
special fitness classes not available on other itineraries.
• Sharpen your mind learning from Destination Speakers from Smithsonian Journeys.
• Other Special Interest speakers may range from Naturalists to Oceanographers to NASA astronauts; or Sports Personalities such
as former NBA and NFL officials, former PGA pros, as well as, former Olympic medalists.
• Explore your love of food and wine reveling in the chance to hear from guest chefs and wine educators, who will present cooking
demonstrations, wine tastings, book signings, food & wine pairing dinners and more.
• Want to focus on wellness? We’ve added the popular Latin and international-inspired dance-fitness program “Zumba Fitness”
into our line-up with two classes a day. Led by instructors from the Zumba Instructor Network™, they are licensed to teach
specialty Zumba classes – Zumba Gold (for the active older adult) and Aqua Zumba (the ultimate pool party). The program has
over 12 million followers in 125 countries. Complimentary Zumba classes will be held at least 2 times per day by certified Zumba
instructors (ZINTM members).

Marc Kaufman
Marc Kaufman writes about NASA and space issues for the Washington Post, where he has been a reporter
on the national staff for ten years. He has also worked as a foreign correspondent at the Post, reporting
from Afghanistan after the 9/11 attacks, and as New Delhi bureau chief for the Philadelphia Inquirer. His
articles have appeared in the Washington Post, Philadelphia Inquirer Sunday, and New York magazines, as
well as Smithsonian and Condé Nast Traveler.
Fred Bronson
Fredric M. Bronson is an American journalist, author and writer. He is best known for his appearances on
American Idol, the weekly “Chart Beat” column in Billboard magazine, and as the author of books related
to Billboard charts. He has been called “America’s foremost music chart journalist”.
Bronson has written for numerous award shows including both the World Music Awards and American
Music Awards. He has also appeared as a repertoire expert four times on American Idol, during seasons
two, four, seven and nine.
Rebecca Chapa
Rebecca Chapa, is a Certified Wine Educator, Certified Sommelier and holds the Diploma Wine and Spirits from the Wine
and Spirits Education Trust in London. Chapa is Chairman of the Los Angeles International Spirits Competition. Chapa
is Beverage Manager for SF Chefs www.sfchefs.com and has taught wine classes for consumers with her own company,
Wine by the Class since 2001.
Brian Cartenuto
Brian Cartenuto, Executive Chef of Tucker Duke’s Lunchbox, is considered to be at the forefront of the
culinary up-and-coming stars in the Panhandle of Florida, if not the US. While he may be the new kid in
town back in town, Cartenuto’s fifteen years of cooking and pleasing palettes back East (at well-known
haunts like Lavandou, Brassière Les Halles, and Dean & De Luca) have provided a strong foundation for
excellence in the South East.
Jamie Nisi
Jaime Nisi holds a Bachelors degree in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington
and a Masters degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from East Carolina University. She currently works as
a speech-language pathologist in Wilmington, North Carolina. Her passion, however, is Zumba Fitness®. She is AFAA
certified in group exercise and currently teaches six Zumba® classes per week. Her love for music and dance is what
initially drove her to Zumba® while her love for inspiring others to be healthy is her reason for teaching.
Leslie Lacombe
Leslie is a silversmith living in Miami, Florida. She teaches at the Art Center South Florida and produces
her unique creations from her studio in South Beach. Leslie has traveled extensively throughout Southeast
Asia, India and parts of Europe.

Steve Javie
Steve Javie is a recently retired NBA official, of 25 years, who officiated such greats as Dr. J, Magic
Johnson, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Kobe, Lebron and many other superstars. Worked over 1500 regualar
season games,240 playoffs game and worked in the NBA Finals for 15 years.
Sam Jones
Sam Jones was a member of the Boston Celtics NBA Basketball team. During his career he won 10 NBA World
Championships and was elected into the Basketball Hall of Fame. His post career passion includes coaching of youth and
motivational speaking at the business and corporate level.

Colleen Mc Glynn
Colleen McGlynn, owner of DeVare, began her cooking career on her family’s farm in rural Wisconsin,
preparing meals with and for her parents and nine siblings. Cooking and preserving seasonal ingredients
was the key to eating well and providing for a large family and became the touchstone for Colleen’s
philosophy in the kitchen of using local ingredients.
Katilin Sandeno
Katilin Sandeno is a World Class professional athlete and proudly carries 4 Olympic medals (gold, silver
and 2 bronze) from the 2000 and 2004 Summer Olympics in Swimming. Former American and World
Record holder. She is a well-rounded swimmer specializing in the individual medley, freestyle and butterfly.
A graduate of USC, she also trained in Ann Arbor Michigan with post-graduate team Club Wolverine. She
holds 10 National titles, 2 NCAA titles, 12-time All American and 17 USC school records.
Davie Hughes
David Hughes is Emeritus Professor of Astronomy at the University of Sheffield, UK. An international
authority on comets and asteroids, he has spoken on astronomy and physics for more than forty years. He
has published well over 200 research papers as well as books on the Moon, Solar System, Universe, and
the Star of Bethlehem. David worked on both the Giotto and Rosetta missions to comets, and is a past
Vice President of the Royal Astronomical Society, and the British Astronomical Association
Leleand Melvin
As a star wide receiver for the University of Richmond, Leland Melvin was named an NCAA Academic All
American, earning his Bachelors degree in Chemistry. He was selected by the National Football League’s
Detroit Lions in 1986, and also spent time with the Dallas Cowboys and the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts. After
early injuries sidelined his football career, he earned his Master’s degree in Materials Science Engineering
from the University of Virginia, and became an aerospace engineer with NASA’s Langley Research Center
in 1989. Selected as an astronaut in 1998 he flew two Space Shuttle missions to the International Space Station (ISS) and
currently serves as NASA’s Associate Administrator for Education.

Miguel Mendoza
Miguel Mendoza started dancing at the age of six and has competed in several National Dance competitions. In
2004 he was a top 3 Solo Finalist at the Marching Auxiliaries dance competition in New Orleans, LA. He started
teaching Dance/Fitness in 2004 which was the basic style mixed with Latin American music. Zumba came to
life in his dance world two years ago, and in 2010 he was given the opportunity to travel to Japan and work on a
Wii Game called Gold’s Gym Dance Workout where he was the Choreographer and Avatar Dancer in the Game.
Pablo Contrisciani
Pablo Contrisciani is an Argentinean artist residing in Miami since 1998. He earned his MFA in Painting
with Professorial License at the National University of Fine Arts of La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina in
1990 and has worked as Professor’s Assistant of Painting in UNLP, Buenos Aires, and as Professor of
Painting in the Escuela Municipal de Arte de La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Peter Koff
Peter was born in South Africa and soon developed a taste for the fine wines which South Africans took
for granted. As Peter’s interest in wine deepened, so did his quest for wine knowledge. This led to Peter’s
sitting examinations for the qualification of Cape Wine Master. In 1984, Peter passed the Cape Wine
Master examination to become one of only five in South Africa; today there are still fewer than one
hundred.
Ridgely Evers
Ridgely began helping to make wine in the Napa Valley in 1978. A decade later, he imported olive trees from an 800-year
old olive grove in Tuscany – the first olive trees brought to the United States since the 1800s – and launched the California
olive oil industry.

Antone Davis
All-American College player at the University of Tennesee. Where he was a finalist for the Outland Trophy.
His NFL Career included 5 years as a Philedelphia Eagle and 2 with the Atlanta Falcons. He spent his post
pro football career in the food industry as a restaurant owner. He recently competed on the Hit TV show
“The Biggest Loser” where after losing 202 pounds, 45% of his total weight he finished runner-up!
Tom Ramsey
Tom Ramsey is a chef, writer and media personality living in Jackson, Mississippi. At his “day job” as
Chef and General Manager of Underground 119, he oversees all back-of-the-house and front-of-thehouse operations, including nightly dinner service, catering and special event meals. His company, Ivy &
Devine Culinary Group, provides private chef services, catering, and in-home cooking lessons taught by
professional chefs.

Armando Droulers
Armando Droulers is an artist, art historian and educator. He studied at Bard College, Academia de Arte Federico Brandt, New
World School of the Arts and The University of Florida. He lectures on art and culture, teaches art and organizes artistic tours
and art and wine, culinary events. He has lived in Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and the United States and speaks fluent
English, French and Spanish. Recently he completed a 4 month contract on the Celebrity Silhouette as a Master Artist.
Cary Combine
Cary currently enjoys representing Intervine, Inc., where she is responsible for all wine sales,
marketing, and promotions to the cruise line industry. Her diverse portfolio includes wines from
all over the world.Cary has over twenty years of experience in the beverage industry with Constellation
Wine,Sebastiani Winery, and Southern Wine and Spirits. She has her Bachelor of Arts degree from the
University of Florida. Cary earned her certification as a sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers.
Robyn Scott
Robyn Scott is a photographer, educator, and custom bookmaker. Since retiring from a thirty year career of teaching high
school and college Spanish, Robyn has studied photography and photo editing and is the owner and operator of RS Custom
Photo Albums, a company specializing in the creation of unique Coffee Table Books.
Dan Patterson
Dan Patterson has published over 30 books on aviation history, and was the first recipient of the Harry B.
Combs Award from The National Aviation Hall of Fame for Excellence in the Preservation of Aviation History
in 2003. He co-authored the landmark series, Aviation Century with Air-Vice Marshal Ron Dick, RAF (ret).
and is a regular contributor to Flight Journal, Aeroplane Monthly and Air & Space/Smithsonian magazines.
Sharrie Wald
Sherrie Wals has been doing ZUMBA for several years and she believes nothing is more invigorated. She
is passionate about the music and the movement and is hapy she became a ZUMBA instructor. She has
always enjoyed dancing for mostof her life. Even when I was over 200 lbs. I stayed active in Jazz, Modern and
Lyrical Dance. When I found ZUMBA, I found my Calling. ZUMBA enhances self confidence, neural-muscular
communication, rhythm, and ignites an inner passion that you will enjoy long after the workout is over.
Andrea Bonaccorso
Andrea Bonaccorso has been dancing since the age of 2 years old. She trained competitively in Rochester
and Buffalo NY for 20 years. Highlights of her dance career include performing in the Pro Bowl Halftime
Show in Hawaii in 1998, winning the World Jazz Dance Title in 2002, and dancing back up for several local
singing artists and groups in Rochester. In 2004 she began her journey dancing as a showgirl for Holland
America Cruise Line. After traveling the world for over 4 years on cruise ships, she took her first Zumba
class. She was hooked! Zumba became her new passion and has been teaching it since 2008. Currently,
Andrea teaches over 25 classes per week and also coaches a college dance team.

Frank Shorter
Frank Shorter is a 1972 Olympic Marathon Gold Medalist, 1976 Olympic Silver Medalist. Founding Chairman United States
Anti- Doping Agency. Education; Yale Yniversity BA, University of Florida Law School JD. U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame.
Jim Kennedy
Mr. Kennedy retired from NASA as the Director, John F. Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in 2007 after 36
years of service. As Director he was responsible for 15,000 men and women who processed, launched (and
landed as appropriate) the Space Shuttle, International Space Station and Expendable Launch Vehicles.
His education includes a BS Mechanical Engineering from Auburn, Univeristy and MBA from Georgia
Southern University. Retirement has brought opportunities to tour with the Mannheim Steamroller Band,
and consult with the aerospace industry.
Mark Fine
As US Director for Gerard Bertrand, Mark Fine is responsible for all marketing, promotion, education, and
sales for the Gerard Bertrand wines; the benchmark producer from the South of France Region. (Recently
awarded “European Winery of the Year” by Wine Enthusiast).
Morgan Lorenzo
Morgan Lorenzo is best known for her glass and ceramic sculptural installations depicting animals that have had significant
psychological and mythological importance to our collective human psyche.
While in residency at Yellowstone National Park, she created a series of works based on the free-ranging herds of bison
and elk that migrate through the Upper Geyser Basin area.
Steve Maran
Dr. Steve Maran, an astronomer and author with long experience in the Space Program, was awarded the NASA Medal
for Exceptional Achievement and prizes from the American Astronomical Society, American Institute of Physics, and
Astronomical Society of the Pacific.

Melinda Bates
Melinda Bates is the only person in history to run the White House Visitors Office for all eight years of an
administration. Breakfast with Tom Hanks, lunch with Michael Douglas, tea with Oprah and Dr. Ruth and
dinner seated next to the President were all in a day’s work.

Allison Jessing
Allison Jessing graduated from Kansas City Art Institute with a BFA in Studio Art in 2002 and from Boston
University with a MFA in Film Studies in 2004. She joined the National Portrait Gallery as an Education
Programs Coordinator in 2006 and has developed several series of art- and history-inspired educational
programs, including Pop Quiz, an interactive trivia game based on the National Portrait Gallery’s extensive
collection.
Phillipa Johnson
Philippa Johnson was born in England and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. After art studies at the University
of Manitoba and Forum Art Institute, Philippa moved to Kenora, Ontario with her husband. There, she
raised a family and taught art for over thirty years, influencing the lives and careers of many young people.
She earned a Masters in Art Education at the California College of Arts and Crafts in Berkley, California in
1983, and has continued to take master painting classes.
Dana Panepinto
Dana Panepinto is a Zumba Fitness® Instructor licensed in Zumba®, Zumba Toning®, and Zumba Gold®,
and Aqua Zumba®. She is a certified group fitness instructor with the Aerobics and Fitness Association
of America® and is certified in CPR/AED by the American Red Cross.
Franco Lania
Franco Lani has been cooking and traveling for twenty years. Chef Franco’s career choice has blossomed into
an extraordinary lifelong dedication to the culinary arts profession. These very personal life experiences
are what make Franco so unique and has ultimately created a chef with an uncanny passion for creativity
and flavor, melded together with an insatiable appetite for travel.
Paul Einbund
Paul Einbund started working in restaurants at the age of 18 and has been a sommelier since he turned
26. His first sommelier position was at the Water Grill in downtown Los Angeles from there Paul moved
to Melisse in Santa Monica and then up to San Francisco in 2004 where he opened tartare restaurant
with celebrated chef George Marrone and helped guide Coi restaurant with Daniel Patterson to 2 Michelin
stars.
