From the current situation and its forecasts of evolution according to the in force planning, the object of the developed
study consisted in the resolution of the mentioned problematic. For it, taking into account that the origin of itself lays in
the absence of a continuous railway connection along the aforesaid coastal arch, the basic approach of the study consisted of the search of a railway corridor that would replace the current lacks, so that the adopted solution answers to
the following guidelines:
- Development of a complete along the coast arch Alicante-Valencia, susceptible to integrate in the state railway net.
- Search of the maximum use of the profits and potentialities of the external net in general and in particular from the
high speed net that is being planed.
- Dealing with the initial premise, it would look for an interconnection with the environment lines.
- Consideration of the pre-existences of which the coast arch disposes of in railway infrastructure.
- Consecution of the maximum level of modal exchange, not only inside the same corridor object of the present study,
but also in regard to the access of exchange spots situated in the environment.
- Posing of an effective line in its objectives as means of transport, from the consecution of competitive journey lengths.
- Appropriate territorial insertion of the new action to be developed, coherent with the complexity of the means, with its
high population density and with its natural charm.
In order to facilitate the population's access to the railroad facilities, four stations are planned:
•
The Regional Station of El Campello – Alacantí
•
The Regional Station of Benidorm – Marina Baixa
•
The Regional Station of Benissa – Marina South
•
The Regional Station of Dénia – Marina North

Client:
Generalitat Valenciana / Conselleria de Infraestructuras y Transporte
Works budget:
35.400.000,00 €
Year of execution:
2002-2003
Project description:
Using the future passage of the High Speed Line by the municipal terminal, the Valencian Community has helped
change the current route of the railway to provide a solution to the accessibility problems, lack of space for town urban
development and more generally achieve a substantial improvement in the quality of life and the urban image of Villena. In other words, the urban integration of the current railway line passing through the city.
The chosen solution proposed the suppression of the railway line in the north and in the best parts of the city to match
the conventional railway corridor with the high-speed line, permitting the city urban expansion and significantly improving the urban image of it by allowing the removal and use of the space currently occupied by lines and railway installations.
This solution of matching the conventional lines to the high-speed line on a section, partly minimizes the barrier effect
imposed on the territory.
It was proposed to build a new station dedicated to the regional transport, this station will be located outside the city
center leading to improvements in road accesses and parking, thus facilitating the implementation of a exchange system inter-transport.
Likewise, it has been made possible the access to the new Villena station from the surrounding villages using the local
train and then taking the High Speed train, staying in the same station.
This solution had a low economic cost, estimated at 35.4 million of euros

Project description:
Burying the Metro Line 1 of Burjassot and Godella has the general objective to eliminate the actual railway obstacle in
the communities cited previously, on a section of 3 km.
The total path length is 2,740 m, with a 2,287 m underground part, and the remaining 452.5 m are trenches or sections
on surface. The entire path is a double railway section, with a distance of axis of 3.30 meters (in cross section) and
3.75 m (maximum curve), while the minimum vertical distance is 5.40 meters, and the horizontal clearance is 8.40 meters in straight lines and slightly larger in curves.
The speed limit is 80 km / h, with two sections of 40 km / h, due to the geometric constraints imposed by the immediate
presence of buildings.
The project includes the construction of three stations, Burjassot Burjassot-Godella and Godella, situated at the same
current stations location.

- Burjassot Station: has 75 meters long platforms and 6.00 meters large.
- Burjassot Godella Station: has a central platform, dimension: 75.00 x 7.65 meters. The lobby is a lightweight
structure building corresponding to the dimensions of the street it includes the control and cancellation modules . At the
north end is an exit which also has a small structure building on surface.
- Godella Station: like the previous case, it has a central platform, dimensions 75.00 x 6.50 meters. It has an
intermediate level hosting control and cancellation modules, as well as a technical room. The main entrance as emergency exits have outbuildings lightweight structures. The platform is partially exposed, to promote its luminosity and
ventilation conditions.
As consequences induced by the interventions of dismantling and removing the existing railway on surface, we can
note the elimination of five level crossings in the municipalities of Burjassot and Godella (with respective denominations
B-5, B-6, G-1, G-2 and G-4) as well as the pedestrian crossings at different levels in both urban centers and the recovery of approximately 60,000 m2 (on a total length of 2700 meters) for roads, green and pedestrian spaces. This represents a significant improvement of living conditions and environmental quality of the urban cores concerned.

Year of execution:
2004-2008
Project description:
The project comprises the continuation of the subway line number 5 in Valencia, stretch from the Airport to Riba-roja de
Túria town. The new section was fully adapted to the route of the old, already dismantled Renfe suburban train line
from Valencia to Llíria. The above mentioned section starts at the railroad switch which brings the previous stretch
(Manises-Aeropuerto) to an end and then goes along the town limits of Manises vand Riba-roja de Túria. Its total lengh
is 9.452,183 meters, of which 565,160 stand for the underground part, 311,381 meters run in the trench and 8.575,642
meters run on the surface.
There will be four stations along the section designed: La Cova, La Presa, Masía de Traver and Riba-roja de Túria. All
of them will have a 75 meters long side platform and also parking lots which will make it easier for the passengers to
change the means of transport. The train speed assumed in the project is 100 km/h. The project plans to eliminate all
level crossings which were a part of an old, already dismantled train line. Therefore, three under crossings must be
executed together with both transverse and longitudinal drainage system remodelling, restoration of four historic stone
bridges and a brick factory existing on the historical train way and included in Valencia Cultural Heritage List.
The works include a very specific operation consisting in the execution of a viaduct going over the future CV-370 expressway. It is supposed to be a two-span metal arch viaduct with a single 133,66 meters long beam, 11,90 meters
wide and 1,35 meters thick bridge slab. The viaduct transverse section will show two side passages with a double track
line between them, each line 1 meter wide, which will be surrounded by two side support bearings.

The actual intersection of Sueca St/ Tomás y Valiente St is a roundabout which channels the vehicles flow in the surrounding residential areas and shopping and entertainment centers nearby, in order to minimize its impact, the Tramway Line will not affect this intersection through the construction of an underpass.
The underpass provides a clearance of 4.80 meters, and the proposed structure includes sidewalls performed through
piles (to minimize constraints on traffic) and a reinforced concrete upper slab .The estimated total length of these walls
is 450.01 meters for the right wall and 446.83 meters for the left wall. At the ends of both walls, when the rising is less
than 1 meter, these are replaced with conventional concrete walls.
The Tramway section type is 7.68 meters wide in straight line. Generally, it is a double paved track with a distance of
axis of 3.44 meters.
The path of the tram fits in the general project concerning the elements and areas related to the layout global urbanisation. In this development project for the Mas Rosari public spaces urbanization, the Tramway will be bounded on one
side by the park of this neighbourhood, and on the other one by a 1.00 m wide green corridor, in a way that the line
space is reserved for Tramway traffic only. In Tomás y Valiente street, will be realized a 2.50 meters wide sidewalk and
a 3.00 meters wide cycle line (in a consistent way with the current situation), followed by the Tramway Line and a 1.00
meters wide band, for safety reasons . As noted in the previous section, the 18.00 meters distance available from the
curb to the urbanized area will be complemented by the development of a low slope bank.
The layout has two stops, the first one is located in Tomás y Valiente street (platform axis corresponding at the mile
post 0+733), and the second next to the Gracia Cruz district (platform axis corresponding at the mile post 1+211). In
each stops, the platforms are 60 meters long and 3,00 meters wide, also the platform accesses are 5,00 meters long.

Project description:
The designed road of approximate length of 14 km will connect the present airport in Castellón, which is now under
construction with a toll gate on the expressway AP-7 in the town of Torreblanca and with a national road N-340. The
new road will enable fast and comfortable connection with the roads parallel to the sea coast, such as trunk road N-340
and expressway Ap-7 mentioned above that are currently highly congested, with the planned expressway CV-10, that
will accumulate huge part of the traffic in directions North- South in Castellón province – from La Jana to Almenara
town.
At first, a construction of an “express road” with 100km/h speed limit was planned. But yet the route study realized
guaranties the viability of converting this road into one of freeway lanes if the traffic intensity requires such changes. In
addition, there were 2 link roads and ten viaducts designed, thanks to which the new road will have a grade separated

Project description:
Project development of access to the zone connected with logistic activity of Valencia Port aiming to improve connections between city and surroundings. Two solutions are presented in the project:
- The first one means creation of access to the new part of Valencia port connected with logistic activity, excluding the
necessity of passage through the city, in order to reduce traffic.
- The second one is connected with improvement of access roads to the town. The aim of the Company was to improve
traffic between roads V-30 and V-15 so the slip road leading from V-15 to V-30 road was replaced by loop road with
appropriate radius and symmetry.
In this way the existing two-lane leading road to the port was completed with two additional lanes, one in direction of
Valencia and the second in direction of Z.A.L. Additionally other ameliorations were developed, such as: road to the
nearby church La Punta, and cyclist path connecting Valencia with Pinedo beach. There will be constructed eight structures of different levels through building new complexes or enlarging the existing ones.

Project description:
The fundamental objective of this project is the construction of the access to the Valencia racing circuit.
The road leading to the Valencia racing circuit has a total length of 3082.27 meters and is entirely located in Cheste. It
begins at the CV-378, which connects the A-3 with Cheste, near the city industrial area and the north end of it. The connection is made via a roundabout, 54 meters internal diameter, with a 164 meters long connection to the previously
mentioned industrial area, also part of the project. From this point, the road passes by La Loma, crossing it in the southeast-northwest direction, then enters in the Cheste Educational Complex - Previous University - and heads for the road,
making the connection with the racing circuit interior and leading to its parking areas located on the future terrace
zones.
The planned section consists of two 3.00 m wide lanes with 2.00 m wide roadsides. The road has access control, due
to the type of expected use during operation thereof. Therefore, there are four points of connection with the existing
rural roads, allowing access to adjacent properties and supplemented by several service roads.
The Work includes the replacement of all relevant services (electricity, telephone, lighting, irrigation networks, rural
roads, etc..) and completed by the lighting installation on the initial roundabout and its access roads, such as the access road to the Industrial hub and the roundabout and interior roads of this same hub.

Slopes Stabilization creating a vegetation cover that will stop the erosion surface and also facilitate environmental integration of the road.
•
Recovery of degraded soils platform construction.
•
Defence and work structures.
Besides crops and plantations, other complementary actions were projected as signalling natural vegetation areas for
the protection and recovery of vegetal upper soil lay, that would be affected by the work, and for a later use in the restoration of soil and vegetation.
The type of restoration projects of plants is compatible with the ecological characteristics of the environment and landscape through which the road passes, the utilization of seedling and the plantation of native species, well adapted to
the environmental conditions, so assured treatment success while maintaining low costs.

Project description:
This European project was performed for the development and planning of an environmental policy for the Black Sea in
the concerned countries (Bulgaria, Rumania, Ukraine, Georgia and Russia).
In the Black Sea, critical environmental contamination is taking place due to the changes caused by waste water dumping to the Black Sea discharging rivers (Danube, Dnieper, Don and other smaller coastal rivers). The cause of the environmental degradation was an inadequate management, former industries, rare environmental control, inadequate agricultural, industrial and navigation sewage treatment.
The project comes within PHARE and TACIS programs and is developed by the European consortium formed by Posford Duvivier Environment, Entec Gould Group Ltd. and i.v. Ingenieros Consultores, S.A..
The works took 12 months. During that time, the group of European experts selected for the project organized monthly
meetings – workshops to analyse the current coast condition of the Black Sea by gathering the information, meetings
and conversations with administrative offices and visits to the action field.
As a result of these works, the commission concluded a document showing the current condition as well as the technical standardization proposal.

The area on which the landscape implantation is realized has a surface of 20.500 m2.
Three sections are distinguished in the project:
•
Street Senyera (industrial section): it is projected the regularization of alignments and the incorporation of vegetation close to the trench section in the railway platform
•
Street Senyera (residential section): the difference of level between both frontages, force to project two separated platforms (each of them formed by sidewalk, band of vegetation and road way) and a central part that assumes the elevation difference. It incorporates the parking zone, and it makes possible the pedestrian communication between both levels by a system of ramps and stairs,
•
Riba-roja centre station : it is the area with major complexity due to the differences and the quantity of urban
pieces. _The solution is obtained by a system of stairs, steps, viewing-points, etc, that integrates the road surrounding , the human communication, the future station, the hydraulic ravine needs, etc .

Project description:
Nowadays, the presence of the railway platform in surface generates a strong barrier effect in the urban area of Burjassot and Godella.
The new urbanization regenerates the liberation of new spaces by the entombment of the infrastructure: a powerful
pedestrian axis substitutes the railway axis, establishing the predominance of pedestrians and cyclists. Also new urban
connections are established and the existing ones are reordered.
The project interacts with the character and the characteristics of each one of the zones crossed: link with the existing
roads, adequacy with the fords, fluency of the pedestrian traffic, etc.
The landscape integration in the urban section includes a surface of 51.504 m2.
In the section of the new underground tracing railway line, is projected the reconstruction of the current structure , supporting the existing traffics and the number of rails, but with light modifications that allow to improve the railroad characteristics - rectification of alignments, increase the pedestrian surface, incorporation of vegetation, etc.
For the railway current platform, is projected to restructure it into a green urban route for pedestrians and cyclists:
stands out the construction of a wide boulevard in the Bétera street. .
In the Burjassot-Godella's station area, as well as in the of Godella's current and future station, there is projected a singular and differentiated treatment depending on the urban context in which they are.

Project description:
The principal design criteria is to join the new infrastructure to the existing one, like the
V-21 highway (north access to Valencia's city) to minimize the division of the territory
and the creation of residual spaces among both infrastructures.
Besides the works of landscape design, which include an area of 43.630 m2, three
singular interventions are distinguished:
1 - Link 14 (V-21): the margins of the trench of the new platform are adapted to the
presence of the existing vegetable (alternation in the use of walls and banks)
2.-The Peixets Chapel and Barranc del Carraixet: the new bridge is designed with a top
arch, for its minor level requirements, therefore, it has minor impact of the resultant
banks. The longitudinal accessibility is solved by a system of stairs and ramps placed
in a system of walls and vegetated banks that reduces the visual impact of the platform
and the elevation difference with the area. ; The date palms trees are the dominant
species in the area of the chapel. They will be transplanted on the new banks and the
vegetable treatment will be completed by the use of palms.
3 - Port Saplaya: the new platform joins with the existing road and creates a vegetable
band that works like a barrier (acoustic and visual) opposite to the nearby presence of
the V-21 highway .

Therefore, the interventions, regarding architectural container restoration, were composed by two types of actions:
a) The replacement and restoration of all damaged parts.
b) The elimination of all added improper that were distorting the original architecture, such as sheds and stands superimposed on the east facade, rolling shutters, false ceilings, partitions and interior buildings that trumped unitary image
of the building.
The new element raised to solve the functional program was a mezzanine that places inside the building, a platform
separated from the walls of factory which composed the building. The mezzanine is connected to the ground floor by
metallic light stairs, and is supported by metallic girders. The only closed element of it is a prism that integrates the elevator and a place for air conditioning machinery. This prism is treated as an element of furniture, which does not come
up to the ceiling.
The mezzanine floor as an office function. The different workspaces (secretary, office area and meetings rooms) are
separated from each other with screens that do not reach the ceiling or with own furniture. This diaphanous floor plan is
open on the ground floor with a balcony.
The materials chosen for railings, floors, wall coverings, lighting, etc.., tried to maintain in the new use a certain industrial aspect, coherent with the original character of the building.

Project description:
In the development of the Valencian Territorial Strategy document, elaborated by the Local Environment, Water, Urbanism and Housing Administration, IVICSA was in charge of the elaboration of a study which proposed the establishment
of infrastructures corridors along the whole territory of the Valencian community.
During the initial phase of work the collection of updated information on existing and planned infrastructure of each of
the authorities and competent institutions or companies was required.
The work also involved the incorporation into a GIS the information obtained from infrastructure, completing the databases with the characteristics of these infrastructures.
Another phase of the work was to establish a territorial classification based on environmental values of the area and its
compatibility with host infrastructure. This process provided a classification map of the territory related to its compatibility in hosting infrastructure corridors.
Later on, the obtained information from the classification territory map were cross-checked with the information from the
current infrastructures network in a way to obtain sufficient data for new corridors propositions.
With this information, a final map was obtained proposing infrastructure corridors compatible with the environmental
values of territory that was incorporated as “Target 20” in the Territorial Strategy Document of the Valencian Community.
