What is Same Day ACH?
Same Day ACH is a new rule adopted by NACHA, the “managers” of the ACH
network, allowing for payments to be processed within 1 business day (rather
than the next day or day after). Same Day ACH moves money within the ACH
network in the same way, only faster.
What does this mean for TCCU Members?
This means processing times, or when transactions post to your account, have
changed. Our automated processing had to change to accommodate multiple ACH
settlements.
As of September 12th, check clearings and Bill Pay items began processing at
approximately 3:00 PM every business day. In addition, ACH settlements began
processing at approximately 2:00 AM, 4:00 AM, 12:30 PM, and 4:00 PM each
business day. These times may continue to change slightly as Same Day ACH
continues its roll-out.
A special note regarding Debit Card transactions. As we roll-out Real Time Debit
your Debit Card transactions will soon process as they arrive rather than all at
once. However, through the end of this year, these are expected to post at approximately 3:00 PM each day. Our transition into Real Time Debit has already
begun and is expected to be completed by February, 2017.
