Senior Bus Trip to Pa Christmas Craft Show
Christmas shop at the largest holiday show in the country. Over 750 vendor booths with
thousands of gifts affordably priced. See decorative trees, 100’ train display, choral and
musical groups, dance troupes, and much, much more. A fun holiday trip! Fee include bus
ride, ticket to craft show and snacks on the bus.
When: Friday December 6th
Where: To PA Craft Show in Harrisburg
Time: 7:45 am in Park Parking lot, Bus will leave at 8am and return at 11 pm
Fee: $50

Boot Camp Fitness Class
Please bring a yoga mat, 2lb to 5lb free weights and water bottle.
Challenge yourself with this fast- paced, calorie blasting workout. Using traditional Boot Camp style,
Interval Training and Plyometrics. Modifications are always offered for Beginning to Advance.
When: Tuesdays (starting 11/12)

Senior Bus Trip to Pennsylvania Christmas Craft Show in Harrisburg
Shop for festive gifts and enjoy the seasonal ambiance at the largest holiday show in the
country. Fee includes bus transportation, show admission, and snacks on the bus ride. A fun
holiday trip!
When: Friday, December 6th
Where: Departs from Brentwood Park
Time: 7:45AM; bus leaves at promptly 8am and returns at 11:00PM

#001 Hip Hop Cardio
Hip Hop Cardio is structured to offer an intense cardiovascular workout, using a blend of
aerobic, plyometric, strength, and basic Hip Hop movements. The class is ideal for anyone
looking to tone muscles, achieve weight loss, or increase stamina, while indulging in a funfilled dance activity that avoids the monotony of traditional cardio training.
When: Saturdays

#002 Zumba
Who says you can't have fun while working out? Zumba, one of the fastest growing exercise
activities in the nation, allows participants to burn calories to the rhythmic beats of salsa,
merengue, and reggae.

#004 Cardio-Kick and Sculpt
This course features an exciting mix of fast-paced kickboxing and traditional muscle
sculpting activities. Bring your own weights and have a blast, as our exercises help to tone
every portion of your body.

#005 Fitness Boot Camp
Serious about getting back into shape? Challenge yourself with this intense, calorie blasting
workout. Using interval training and plometrics, instructor Laurie Krayvo's routine is
designed to allow participants to achieve a peak level of fitness. Course modifications are
available to serve individuals of all skill levels. Please bring a yoga mat and a set of free
weights to each session.

#006 Acrylic Painting for Beginners by South Arts
Transform your favorite photograph into a colorful painting. This course will introduce
participants to the basic tools and techniques of acrylic art. In this hands-on program,
students will learn the key considerations and strategies used by acclaimed artists to ensure
the production of an eye-catching work. Ages 16 and up.
When: Mondays (1/13-2/17)

#007 Watercolor for Beginners
Learn the fundamentals of watercolor painting in a fun and relaxed environment. Our
experienced instructor will impart key strategies for color mixing, wash methods, and special
finishing strokes. In just a matter of weeks, participants with no prior experience will be
able to produce rich, vibrant art. Ages 16 and older.
When: Saturdays (1/18-2/22)

#008 Drawing for Beginners
Express yourself through drawing...even if you currently have trouble making a straight
line! Students will be instructed on basic lining and shaping skills using the mediums of
pencil, charcoal and ink. With the skills acquired in this course, participants can create
either lifelike sketches or creative cartoon scenes. Ages 16 and older.
When: Wednesdays (1/15-2/19)

#113 Learning from the Masters by South Arts
This hands-on class will combine a study of artistic fundamentals with a focus on individual
expression as students create projects inspired by Van Gogh, Monet, Matisse, and other
celebrated artists.. Students will be able to apply newly acquired skills to mosaics, paintings
and drawings with a variety of mediums.
When: Wednesdays (1/15-2/19)
Time: 7-8PM
Where: Brentwood High School
Ages: 6-12

#114 & #115 Paint Color into Winter by South Arts
Explore the use of acrylic paints to create colorful works that contrast with the monotonous
grays and whites of a Pennsylvania winter. Students will learn a variety of color mixing,
brush stroke, and design techniques. Bring your imagination!
When: Thursdays (session #114 1/9-2/13; session #115 2/20-3/27)

#116 Video Game Design by Hi-Tech Learning
How would you like to create a personalized video game to enjoy with your friends? Students
will utilize a specially-designed program to craft a one-of-a-kind, fully playable computer
video game. This course teaches an array of foundation practices that are used by real
programmers and designers in the gaming industry.
When: Mondays (1/27-3/3)
Time: 5-6:30PM
Where: Community Room
Ages: 7-10
Fee: $130 Brentwood residents; $140 non-residents
#117 FPS Game Design by Hi-Tech Learning
Using a special software program, students will learn how to design and edit video game
maps so as to create fun and challenging gameplay environments. This kid-friendly software
focuses on decision-making and adventure, while removing the unnecessary violence of
popular first person shooters. The course will culminate in students playing an advanced
version of laser tag in their digital worlds.
When: Mondays (1/27-3/3)
Time: 6:45-8:15PM

#118 Adventures in Minecraft (In-Service Day)
Join with other Minecraft enthusiasts/fans/pros to complete a series of fun challenges and
the ultimate collaborative project to demonstrate your crafting skills! Share and learn tips,
tricks, and create new worlds with others in this ultimate digital environment. All campers
will take home instruction on how to access their completed projects at the conclusion of the
program.
When: Monday February 17th
Time: 9am - 4pm

Age: 8-12

#119 Crazy Chemworks
Shake up a flask of fun in the lab as a junior chemist! This program is packed solid with cool
reactions. Participants can put on some goggles and change liquid to solid and back again.
They get to handle laboratory tools, build and break molecules, and pick up some tricks on
chemical changes.
When: Wednesdays (1/15-2/5)
Time: 4:30-5:30 pm

PROGRAMING/EVENTS
#120 Creating Healthy Habits with Juicing & Smoothies
Jump start your children’s health with this fun, hands on cooking class. Participants will
make and taste delicious juices and smoothies then bring home healthy eating habits to the
family. Instructor Lisa Silberg is a dedicated health coach and talented personal chef offering
specialized food services in the Greater Pittsburgh area.
When: Thursdays (3/6-3/20)
Time: 4:30-5:30 PM
Where: Community Room
Ages: 6-18
Fee: $70 Brentwood Residents/ $75 non-residents
Sent out program promotion emails, passed out flyers to library and senior centers, and
created a program guide to be passed out to schools.
Online registration program setup was finished. All program registrations are now offered
online.
STADIUM
Track and Field Rules and Regulation signs were edited and sent to be printed. They were
finished on Wednesday.
PLAYGROUNDS
Looked deeper into KABOOM grant process and attend KABOOM Community Build. Over
300 volunteers showed up at 7 am. Some were residents of Wilkinsburg, others were groups
or associations from the surrounding areas such as Pitt Athletes. When volunteers arrived
they were given a name tags with a team name. Different Teams performed different tasks
such as mulch movers, slide builders, concrete pourers, tree trims and much more. There was
either a KABOOM or Playworld Representative that was in charge of each group to direct
them in right direction. Lunch and snacks were donated. The playground was completed
built by 3 pm. Playworld and KABOOM conduct a playground inspection after.
