Let Us Pray for One Another
New! In the Narthex! Prayer Intention Book
At future Liturgies, prayers will be requested for all those
intentions listed in the new PRAYER INTENTION BOOK,
located in the Narthex of the Church. The Senior Group
that meets on Wednesdays will also include those intentions
in their weekly prayer. Feel free to write a name, a request,
a thank you, or just simply
“for a special intention” in the book. Prayer is so
important, for all people, so let us keep praying for one
another

INFANT BAPTISMS
The Sacrament is celebrated on Sunday at 1:15 PM. by
appointment only. A Pre-Baptism Catechetical Session
is required for parents. Godparents (Sponsors) must be
practicing Catholics and at least 14 years of age. A practicing
non-Catholic Christian may act as a witness along with a
Catholic Sponsor.
RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS
We welcome all unbaptized individuals, friends,
family members and neighbors who are not Roman Catholic
Christians or those individuals within the Catholic Tradition
who may have never received the Sacraments of the Holy
Eucharist or Confirmation to participate in our parish
program for adult Christian Initiation at this time. This
program is also ideal for baptized Christians of other
Christian denominations who are interested in learning more
about the Catholic Faith. If you know of someone who may
wish to experience the richness of our Catholic Faith and
who desires to participate fully in the sacramental life of the
Church, please contact Barbara Bunag at 732-257-7722.
MATRIMONY
The Sacrament of Matrimony requires an extensive period of
preparation. Contact must be made with a priest at the
Parish Center one year in advance.
MINISTRY TO THE SICK
The Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist and the
anointing of the sick is available to our parish sick
and shut-ins upon request.
Please inform the parish
concerning the needs of the sick by calling the Parish Office.
If any member of the parish is hospitalized, please notify the
Parish Office immediately so that a member of the Pastoral
Staff may visit.
PLEASE PRAY FOR THE MEMBERS
OF OUR PARISH FAMILY WHO ARE
SICK AS WELL AS THOSE
MEMBERS WHO ARE SERVING IN
THE ARMED FORCES
Dear Brothers and sisters,
In September, Pope Francis will be visiting the United States
as part of the Synod on the Family being held in Philadelphia.
The visit will begin on Tuesday, September 22nd, when the
Pope arrives from Cuba landing at Andrews Air Force Base
outside of Washington, D.C. On Wednesday Pope Francis will
visit with President Obama at the White House and in the afternoon will formally canonize Bl. Junipero Serra at the Basilica
of the Immaculate Conception. Thursday morning, September
24th, Pope Francis will address a Joint Session of the United
States Congress, the first time in our history that the successor
of Saint Peter has been invited to address Congress. In the evening he will depart Washington to journey to New York City.
After arriving at JFK, he will visit Saint Patrick‘s Cathedral
and preside at Evening Prayer. Friday morning, September
25th, Pope Francis will address The United Nations General
Assembly and after this he will be at the 9/11 Memorial and
Museum. In the evening he will celebrate Mass at Madison
Square Garden.
Saturday, September 26th, Pope Francis will travel to Philadelphia to take part in the World Meeting on the Families. While
in Philadelphia he will visit Independence Hall and the Cathedral Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul. Sunday, September
27th, the Holy Father will host a meeting with all of the Bishops of the United States. A Mass will be celebrated by Pope
Francis at 4pm. on the front steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum and the large crowd is expected to fill the Benjamin
Franklin Parkway.
If you are interested in attending this Mass please see the insert
in today’s bulletin.
Please continue to pray for Pope Francis and for the success of
his pastoral visit to the United States.
In Christ,
Fr. Thomas
