elcome Chapter J. Who can
believe it?! Spring is in the air. Its
time to take the covers off the bikes
and get them ready for the fantastic riding
season we have planned for this year. Our
first “Kick-off the Season” ride will start April
19th at the Nautilus Diner in Crofton, MD at
8:30 AM. If you’ve never been on this ride,
this is one of the Chapter’s jewel rides. It
winds through the mountains of western MD
and will end up at the Mimslyn Inn in Luray,
Virginia for a great mid-day lunch. Mark
your calendars and come out with us on a
great ride.
Also, another great asset of the Chapter is
our COY Couple and Associate members
Randy and Robin Bunch. Randy is an
excellent bike mechanic, so if you haven’t
completed your spring maintenance,
schedule it with him as soon as possible
because his calendar is filling up fast!
We hope to see you on the ride.

i Chapter J Members,
Summer is just around the corner.
Can you believe the mild winter we
have had? I hope this is not an indication of
the Global warming that everyone is talking
about. Although I believe we live in an area
that gets a little of all seasons and not too
much of one season.
Our SPRING KICKOFF RIDE to Luray is
coming this month. We will go the same
route with brunch at the newly remodeled
Mimslyn Inn. I hope the prices did not get
too much remodeling.
The ride will begin at 08:00 at the Nautilus
Restaurant in Crofton, MD and it will take
about three hours. It is about 210 miles from
my house in the south but about 165 miles
from Crofton. We will head North to
Frederick and then West into Virginia and
then South through Front Royal and then
over that great mountain pass into Luray.
We will stop for a saddle break rest stop
about two hours into the ride. After lunch we
will wander back North on that great route
that Dave Dolinger took us on last year back
into Front Royal and then north into
Frederick. Of course I might have him lead
as that was the first time for me on that
route.

Sorry I did not make it to our last gathering
something else came up.
For those of you who care I now have
170,000 miles on my 2002 Gold Wing with
very few problems. I am convinced that
Honda makes a great motorcycle. This time
next year I should break the 200,000 mark.
I hope to see a lot of you on some rides this
year.
