What is Internship?
Internship is a cooperative education
program that offers course credit with
paid, productive, real-life work experience.
The AOIT Intership Program job is
IT related and students will earn the
National Academy Foundation Certificate.
This Internship program offers many
educational, financial and career-building

Opportunity to use skills and
information learned in coursework

Valuable job-search skills such as
career assessment, resume writing, and
interviewing techniques

expanding their resume

student’s junior and senior years and

Program
Crooms offers Internship opportunities
for students interested in applying their
technology skills in a workplace setting.
Internship is a program that integrates class
studies with paid, productive, real-life
work experience. The student, employer
and coordinator are partners in a successful
program which is more relevant than ever in
building the high performance workforce of
the future.
When Offering an Internship,
Businesses Agree To. . .
Hire a Crooms student as a paid
employee
Place student in position where he/she
can apply technology skills
Provide a minimum of 75 total hours
of work for semester credit and
150 total hours for a full credit of
Internship
Maintain contact with the Internship
teacher at Crooms
Complete a training agreement that
outlines your expectations and sets
some goals for the student
Sign student’s time card
Provide feedback and evaluation for
the student
Serve as a reference for future job
applications
In order to be eligible for the
Internship Program at Crooms Academy
of Information Technology, students must
show they are prepared academically and
socially to enter the workforce as a Crooms
representative. The student transcript
reflecting a strong grade point average,
Internship application, and good evaluations
from teachers must be submitted for
consideration.
When Serving as an Intern,
Students Agree To. . .
Fill out an internship application,
complete with three teacher references
Work with internship teacher to update
your resume and draft a cover letter
Apply to internship positions that fit
your skill set
Provide your own transportation to and
from the workplace
Work a minimum of 75 hours for
semester credit and 150 hours for full
credit
Complete a training agreement that
outlines your employer’s expectations
and sets goals for your internship
experience
Fulfill the requirements of your
position and take initiative to learn as
much as possible from the experience
Turn your time card into internship
teacher on a regular basis
Communicate and meet with internship
teacher as required
