To Split ??? or not to Split ??? Herbicide
Applications for Downy Brome Control in
Winter Wheat???
Split applications of Maverick at 2/3 oz applied with a
fall-fall timing or a fall-spring timing produced downy
brome control equivalent to a full 2/3 oz application of
Maverick in the fall.
Full rate in the fall or splits produced superior downy
brome control compared to a full rate applied in the
spring

Full Rate Sequential Applications of Bayer
CropScience Herbicides for Downy Brome
Control in Winter Wheat
Sequential applications of full rates of Olympus in the
fall followed by full rates of OlympusFlex or Osprey in
the spring improved downy brome control compared
to single full rate applications of Olympus in the fall or
OlympusFlex in the spring
However, winter wheat grain yield was not increased
in response to improved brome control

Imazamox will control feral rye if applied
before the weed is tillering, usually in early
fall. In research conducted in eastern Oregon,
90 percent of the feral rye was controlled
when imazamox was applied when the weed
had one to six leaves. Late-fall (one- to fivetiller feral rye) and spring applications
provided 35 and 60 percent control,
respectively.
