Letter from the president
WELCOME TO THE GREATEST SUMMER
BEER FESTIVAL IN MINNESOTA!
The North Coast is the location of the 4th Annual All
Pints North craft beer festival. We have seen amazing
growth in the Minnesota Craft Beer scene - no place
is that more apparent than in Duluth, Minnesota. The
Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild now has more than 80
brewery members with new members joining every week.
We are supported by more than 50 Allied Trade members
along with thousands of Minnesota Craft Beer fans like
yourself.
All Pints North has become one of my favorite events
of the year. I want to thank the City of Duluth, our
event sponsors, the participating breweries, the event
organizers and you for attending this great event.
Please sample responsibly by drinking water, eating
delicious local food and moderating you beer intake.

Plan ahead for safe transportation after the event. We
hope to see you at future Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild
events.
Cheers!

Live Music
3:00 pm - DJ DAVE CAMPBELL
Campbell is a long-time veteran of the Twin Cities music scene. A fan, musician, record store clerk, record label staffer, and a 10-year
staffer of KQRS and Drive 105’s Homegrown, Campbell’s love for Minnesota music makes him a perfect fit for The Current.
3:30 pm - THE SUNNY ERA
Evolving from their indie rock, world fusion musical style, The Sunny Era, sounds less ethnic and more rocking on its latest release,
Lost in the Sea of Ghosts. The three-piece from Minneapolis continues to explore multiple instrumentation and rich orchestration
to create songs that play on the striking contrast between bright and hopeful to dark and mysterious. Lost in the Sea of Ghosts
showcases the artistic growth of the group, resulting in a beautiful record marked by driving rhythms, intriguing lyricism, and lush
instrumental sounds that is sure to delight and surprise.
4:30 pm - DJ DAVE CAMPBELL
5:00 pm - THE MELISMATICS
Passion. Irony. Weirdness. Melody. These are some of the core elements of The Melismatics’ sound that has been developed over
the past decade through intense recording, heavy touring, and an inhuman intake of caffeinated beverages. With six albums under
their belt thus far, The Melismatics have been constantly evolving their own stylings of post-punk and indie-rock.

CRAFT BEER EDUCATION
Educating the public about craft beer is part of the mission of the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild. Beyond sampling craft beer at this festival, we put together a group of organizations that focus on various aspects of the craft beer experience and are here to teach you about what it is they do. Visit the EDUCATION TENT (sponsored by Northern Brewer) to
learn more about craft beer from our experts!
BEER! THE MORE YOU KNOW . . . 3:30 - 4:00p
Rob Shellman & Michael Agnew (Better Beer Society)
Please join Michael Agnew and Robin Shellman of the Better Beer Society as they discuss the importance of beer education in the marketplace, both from a retailer standpoint as
well what you (the consumer) should be aware of. They’ll discuss everything from off-flavors, beer clean glassware, proper & improper pours and general knowledge that every beer
consumer should know. Our goal is to ensure that both retailers and consumers are on the same page regarding quality and improved standards. An educated beer drinker is a better
beer drinker.
ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT HOPS 4:10 - 4:40p
Ben Boo and Eric Sannerud (Mighty Axe Hops)
Grab a beer and join local hops farm Mighty Axe Hops to learn (nearly) everything you need to know about hops! T-shirt prizes and quiz show following presentation. Mighty Axe Hops
grows local hops for local beer in Ham Lake, MN.
THE PERFECT PITCH: IMPORTANCE OF YEAST PITCH RATES 4:50 - 5:20p
Sara Hagerty (White Labs)
Did you know that yeast accounts for 2/3 of the qualities in your final beer? Out of the three controls we have in fermentation, your yeast pitching rate should be one of the easiest to
manage. Learn about how much to pitch and walk away with a better understanding of the effects of underpitching and overpitching on your beer. Don’t let it intimidate you! Come
learn why your pitch rate is essential to making good beer!
ROAD TRIPS FOR BREWERIES 5:30 – 6:00p
Kevin Revolinski (Author of Minnesota’s Best Beer Guide)
Brewcations and pils-grimages: Revolinski reflects on beer-centric travel and the creation of his new road-trip guidebook Minnesota’s Best Beer Guide: A Travel Companion. He
writes for the Chicago Tribune and among his 13 books are two other beer travel books for the states of Wisconsin and Michigan. He’ll also be selling and signing copies afterward.

BEER TASTING BASICS
smell
– Don’t be shy. Stick your nose
deep in the glass and take a big whiff. Breathe
in the bright earth, spice and citrus of the
hops. Let the cereal smells of malted grains
overtake your senses. Yeast also brings smells:
fruit, spice, sulfur, sour and funk.
see – Hold your glass up to the light. Take
note of each beer’s jewel-like color and pristine
clarity (or the stylistic lack thereof). Brewers
take great pains to raise that frothy head. Give
them back a moment of your time to admire its
texture, color and duration.
BEER
STARTS HERE
CRAFT
ALL PINTS NORTH is an opportunity to sample
more than 200 different craft beers from great
brewers both local and not-so-local. Make the
most of it by taking the time to savor the flavor.
With every beer you taste, follow this simple
three step process: smell, see, sample.
sample
– Finally, you taste the beer. The
sensation is so much sweeter for having indulged in the first two steps. Let the sample sit
a moment on your tongue. Is it a malty beer or
do the hops hold sway? Perhaps it’s yeast that
takes the day. And is that a subtle hint of spice
that lurks in the background?

We are a microbrewery. Garden to Growler. We are a CSB and community focused brewery, making amazing craft beer.
• Lake Sandy Rye
A clean, crisp lager with a yellow hue. This beer is
lightly hopped to bring out the pilsner and rye malts.
It is refreshing enough for a hot summer day, yet bold
enough to be enjoyed year round. It is brewed with 3
different malts and a single variety of hops.
ABV: 5.6
IBU: 19
• NE Nectar
This is a pale, lighter bodied ale that is smooth, clean
and refreshing. Additions of honey give this a sweeter

different malts and copious amounts of honey added
at the end of the batch. Enjoy this year round.
ABV: 5
IBU: 23
• Dark Territory
A rich and complex stout composed of smooth, sweet
and dark tones without being overpowering. It has
forefront aromas of chocolate, roasted dark malts.
A slight scent of hop bitterness and coconut with
resounding velvet, smooth and roasted flavor gives
this an opulent finish on the palate. It is brewed with
a blend of 6 different malts, flaked oats, milk sugar,
toasted raw unsweetened coconut and cocoa nibs.
The fermenter is loaded with additional coconut to
balance the flavor profile. Drink this with lower carbonation to enjoy the full bodied flavor. Pairs well with:

612Brew is a quick 2 hour drive from Duluth, centered in the heart of Northeast Minneapolis. We like to brew American style ales. And German
lagers. And beers with Indian spices. And some British style beers. And a French Farmhouse. Whatever. You can find our beers throughout the
Twin Cities metro in bars and restaurants on draft and at liquor stores in cans. We encourage you to visit the taproom and hang out on our
patio this summer with us.

Bad Weather Brewing Company [BOOTH # 13]
ST. PAUL, MN | BADWEATHERBREWERY.COM
HEAD BREWER: Andy Ruhland |
Bad Weather Brewing produces ales that are Untethered and Unpredictable, just like the weather here in Minnesota. The lineup of beers will be
constantly changing with fun and unique brews that capture the spirit of the season. With a flagship beer to keep them anchored, an emphasis
will be placed on the seasonal beer selection, coming and going as unpredictably as the next thunderstorm.
• Windvane - Red IPA
Our flagship year-round release WINDVANE stands
strong through all types of weather and is a great fit
for all seasons. Pouring a deep brilliant red, this is your
go-to beer. If you want something hoppy, you definitely
have it. American hops give WINDVANE a swift bitterness with piney, citrus and resinous flavors. If you want
something with strong malt shoulders, you have that
too. Roast malt layers add complexity and keeps the
beer dry to showcase the hops.

IBU: 65
Firefly - Rye Pale Ale
Brewed for hot days and crisp cool nights, FIREFLY
reminds you of summer while giving a glimpse of fall.
Pouring golden with orange hues, FIREFLY serves up
a healthy dose of spicy rye with bright flashes of fruity
hops. Tip one back quickly before it’s gone and the
weather turns Ominous.

BADGER HILL BREWING CO.
[BOOTH # 37]
SHAKOPEE, MN | BADGERHILLBREWING.COM
HEAD BREWER: Michael koppelman | BREWERS: chase duttonr Todd koppelman Erik Johnsen brent krekelberg
At Badger Hill Brewing we think some of the best things happen over a beer. Friendships begin, ideas are shared, and some of the best stories
are told. Heck, our story began over a beer.
We are a group of nice, hard-working, smart, honest and fun individuals, brewing uniquely approachable beers. Mostly American ales, but we
consider ourselves adaptable, so you never know what you may find in the taproom.
Our brews can be found throughout Minnesota in restaurants, bars, and liquor stores. Please ask for it. You can also visit our taproom in
Shakopee. We’d love to get to know you over a beer.
• Traitor ipa
One person’s traitor is another person’s hero, and this
IPA just might be yours. Part West Coast IPA, part not,
Traitor rebels against style definitions.
ABV: 7
IBU: 70
• Foundation stout
B
Taking cues from old English and Irish Stouts, two
brothers from the Land of 10,000 Lakes landed on
their own perfect brew. The reveal? A sweet, malty
roast that hints of coffee, caramel and chocolate—and
finishes off clean with touches of American hops. In
other words: not too schmaltzy, not too bitter. Like
you’d expect from a couple of nice, well-balanced Minnesota guys.
ABV: 6.3
IBU: 45
High road
Come join us on the high road. We’ve got our own
special beer up here, High Road Everyday Ale, a sessionable ale that is complex yet approachable. Brewed
with Galaxy and Wakatu hops, High Road swirls with
the aromas of tropical fruit and notes of citrus. The
flavor is clean and dry with just a hint of sweetness.
Not a blonde or a pale ale, High Road Everyday Ale is
an individual. Just like those we brewed it for.
ABV: 5
IBU: 24
• White IPA infused with
Raspberries and Mint
Our take on the White IPA is a hoppy Belgian Wit
beer with Orange Zest and Coriander. Unfiltered, this
beer pours pale white, with a solid head. Citrus notes
abound with a clean bitterness and a citrus, slightly
tart finish.
Special for All Pints North, it will be infused with Raspberries and Mint!

Ballast Point [BOOTH # 77]
SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA | WWW.BALLASTPOINT.COM
BREWMASTER(s): Yuseff Cherney | HEAD BREWER: Colby Chandler |
Founded in 1996, by passionate home brewers. We at Ballast Point believe it begins with the search for flavor. The perfect balance of taste and
aroma. An obsession with ingredients. An exploration of techniques. And while we savor the result, we’re just as fascinated by the process to
get there. What started as a small group of home brewers, who simply wanted to make a better beer, evolved into the adventurers known today
as Ballast Point.
• Sculpin
A trophy beer that’s a testament to our homebrew
roots. Our Sculpin IPA is a great example of what got
us into brewing in the first place. After years of experimenting, we knew hopping an ale at five separate
stages would produce something special. The result
ended up being this gold-medal winning IPA, whose
inspired use of hops creates hints of apricot, peach,
mango and lemon flavors, but still packs a bit of a
sting, just like a Sculpin fish.
ABV: 7
• Grapefruit Sculpin
IBU: 70
Our Grapefruit Sculpin is the latest take on our signature IPA. Some may say there are few ways to improve Sculpin’s unique flavor, but the tart freshness
of grapefruit perfectly complements our IPA’s citrusy
hop character. Grapefruit’s a winter fruit, but this easydrinking ale tastes like summer.

IBU: 70

• Snarling Badger Berliner Weisse
IBU: 60
Snarling Badger has a light body from the wheat and refreshingly
tart acidity that make it a perfect summer thirst-quencher. Its
lemony tartness is provided by a secondary fermentation with
Lactobacillus, the same microorganism that’s responsible for
yogurt’s tang. For the primary fermentation we used traditional
Bavarian hefeweizen yeast that produces soft notes of banana
and clove. We followed that with Lactobacillus and months in
conditioning to create a complex fruity acidity that complements
the soft sweet malt tones and a unique ale that is both fulfilling
and refreshing.

• 5:00 Shadow Double Black Lager
IBU: na
We have taken the traditional Schwarzbier, intended to be a “session beer” with typically moderate alcohol, and almost doubled
its strength to 7.6% alcohol by volume. Our version is brewed with
a fine balance of German roasted and crystal malts and spiced
with German Tradition hops. We fermented 5 O’Clock Shadow at
cold temperatures with a lager yeast from a monastery brewery
near Munich and cold- conditioned it for sixteen weeks to create
a velvety smooth, easy drinking springtime brew.

• Sour Grand Saison Farmhouse Ale
IBU:
Using an old brewing technique called “three threads,” we blended a
trio of unique beers into one harmonious whole. Our brewers started by
reproducing The Grand Saison 2011 recipe. The first “thread” follows
centuries of tradition, using European hop varieties: German Hallertauer
Tradition, UK Goldings, Czech Saaz, and French Strisselspalt. We used
a very light base malt accented by just a touch of German Wheat and
Munich malts, then fermented it very warm with a classic Belgian yeast
strain to bring out the spicy flavors that are common to saisons. The
second “thread” was fermented with Brettanomyces Drei (also known
as Brettanomyces Trois.) This wild yeast from Belgium produces a very
delicate tartness with lovely aromas of tropical fruit like mango, peach,
pineapple and guava. Finally, our brewers produced a third “thread” of
saison soured with Lactobacillus, a common and beneficial microorganism that we encounter every day. It gives yogurt its tang and helps to ferment pickled vegetables such as sauerkraut. In our Sour Grand Saison,
Lactobacillus provides a delightfully tart, tangy and crisp, citrusy-sour
flavor.

In 1948, a group of investors purchased the old Remmler Brewery and re-opened the property as the Goodhue County Brewing Company. Under Brewmaster Joe
Mickus, the new brewery launched Red Wing Premium
Beer, which was not only sold in bottles, but was also
Red Wing’s only beer to be sold in cone top cans. Red
Wing Premium was a lighter and crisper beer that reflected the changing American pallet of the post-Prohibition era. Our version of Red Wing Premium is a nod
to the original style and is still made with Midwestern
malt for a truly local brew that continues to be “Goodhue County’s Pride.”

We proudly re-introduce the original oak-aged 1896
recipe of the brewery’s flagship brand “ Remmler’s
Royal Brew. Back in the day, this beer was greatly enjoyed by those who thirsted for something strong and

Sidhe Brewing Company has a philosophy that all beer drinkers are potential craft beer enthusiasts. Everyone who enjoys a good cold beer is
capable of stretching their palate to try something a little more daring. Where Sidhe is different from other craft brewers is that we are making
this our core mission, instead of just having one or two beers targeted for the newer craft beer fan. Most of our beers are approachable session
beers, arranged in a spectrum from easiest to most challenging.
• Bast Kissed Cream Ale
This beer is a somewhat standard cream ale style with
a complex malt bill and very low bittering hops to allow
the flavors of the grain to come out. There is a light
biscuity note to the beer, without underlying bitterness. Light in color, moderate in gravity/alcohol. Best

BREWMASTER(s): Samuel Harriman | BREWERS: Ben Steingold Isaac Rysdahl
Sisyphus Brewing is named after a Greek myth. Sisyphus was condemned to push a rock up a hill for all eternity, whenever it reaches the top, he
has no choice but to go back and start all over again. But what does that have to do with craft beer? Our system is so small, if we ever stopped
brewing, we would run out of beer. So we have no choice but to keep throwing ourselves at the boulder of existence day in and day out. Except,
unlike Sisyphus, we do it with tasty beers in hand. And if you think you are clever comparing our name to an STD, sorry, you aren’t. But we think
it’s cute you thought you were an original.

It is very smooth with no bitterness, and has a real

are more American. Our “flagship” brew, it’s a very social drink and goes great with all types of food.

The South Shore Brewery continues it’s dedication to
innovative and progressive beer styles. As a cream ale
it combines the features of a lager ( crisp and smooth)

beer. We’ve also added 5 % oatmeal and 16% white
wheat for a round, smooth flavor and mouthfeel. There
is a very slight hop presence. Additionally, we’ve introduced a blend of herbs into the finished product which
enlivens your senses with a unique refreshing taste.

• AMERICAN PALE ALE
IBU: 10.8
There are two things that distinguishes this pale ale
from our standard pale. First is the color. We’ve made
some minor deletions in some dark caramel malt
and the most obvious is that we poured the hops to
it. Much like our India Pale Ale as bitterness goes,
however this beer features Northwest American bittering and aroma hops, Pallisades and Simcoe. (The IPA
featured English style hops). Not for the faint of heart.
A bold assertive brew with distinguishing citrus smells
and flavors from the hops. Yet the malty sweetness is
there enough to provide flavor stability.

Pronounce the “w” like a “v” in Wiezen. This style is of
German origin and uses a pure yeast strain developed
in that region as well. It is also characterized by the
amount of wheat malt in the recipe. Our interpretation uses 60%. The yeast imparts very unique flavors
and aromas. The flavors have been described as fruity,
clove and nutmeg-like and the aromas are somewhat
banana or bubble-gum. We believe you’re going to love

we could build a Destination Brewery where we could sell pints of our own beer, right where it’s brewed. Yeah, that was actually against the law.

Perhaps the first beer truly designed to fit the tastes of
the masses, porter helped keep the thirsts of British
laborers (in particular transportation workers, hence
the name) quenched during the dawn of the industrial
revolution. Our porter is a nod to the humble aspirations of the style. Built from a combination of American and Patagonian malts combined with traditional
English hops, it is malty but not sweet, dark but not
heavy, and snappy but not bitter. Our porter provides a
smooth pint with notes of chocolate and coffee which
is sure to be a comfortable companion with character
to help you get through our cold northern nights.

ABV: 5.3
IBU: 30
Belgium has a long history or brewing distinctive beers
and is respected throughout the world for its saisons,
abbey ales, and sours, but perhaps the most universally enjoyed style to emerge from the Belgian tradition is the Belgian Wit. Light and spritzy, Wits combine
the sweetness of wheat with a balanced spice profile
and lively carbonation. Our version of this classic style
is light and refreshing with a subtle spice aroma. As
a nod to the heritage of the area in which we live, we
have added cardamom, a spice used frequently in
Scandanavian cuisine, to the traditional orange and
coriander. The result is an effervescent and slightly
exotic beer which may have you dancing like the lights
of the aurora by the end of the night.

and the lake is calm. We also know how fleeting those days
can be and that we had better enjoy them when they come
around. Our Brown Ale is a lot like one of those days, a
balance of flavors which blend into a pleasant pint which
demands that you enjoy it. Characterized by a slight malty
sweetness with a touch of hop bitterness and balanced out
by an earthy background note provided by the wild rice,
you can revel in the bliss that comes from enjoying that
moment when all things seem to align to make everything
