I promise, someday it will be Spring and sunny here in
Chicagoland. But, did you know that a baby can get a

Favorite Things
This has to be one of my favorite toys! The 8 simple,
stacking cups are an excellent first toy for a baby. And
let me tell you why . . .
1) Nesting: The first activity is to nest the cups neatly
into each other.
2) Stacking: The little cups stack on top of each other to
make a tower. Oh the fun of knocking it over!
3) Dishwasher Safe: After a day of drooling, chewing and dropping on the floor, get
them clean for the next day's play.
4) Bath: Forget the fancy bath toys . . . toddlers love to pour water from cup to cup.
5) Beach: Scoop the sand to make tiny sand castles.
6) Water: Either at the beach or in the tub, the little cups have tiny holes at the
bottom so you can drizzle a little stream of water on baby's hands or legs . . . they
love it!
7) Color: Soft, gentle colors that respect baby's sensitive eyes.
8) Safe: PVC, Phthalate, and BPA free.

Completely Black and White
The Daughter and I were walking to school. She was running ahead of me. It was
10:30 in the morning and we were going to a school assembly on a day that The
Daughter is not normally in school. And at 10:30, not many people were out on the
street. She was probably further than I would normally let her go from me, but she
knows where her school is, so I felt comfortable with her being about 100 feet ahead of
me. I could see her and she was steering clear of the street. A cop was parked along
the sidewalk and The Daughter stopped to wave at the cop. The cop immediately got

out of the car, and even at my distance, I could hear the cop ask The Daughter if she
was alone. I could tell that The Daughter just looked at the cop without responding.
