CTAHA's new One Day Show is a success!
Our club's rated show is the Lone Star Classic, a Central Texas tradition since 1966. This
year we made the transition to a One Day Show format, enabling us to bring it back to
our home base in Austin, and it was so much fun! We are so appreciative of our judges
Steve Lieblang and Cheryl McCally, whose professionalism, good humor, and support
helped make this concept viable on its maiden voyage; and thanks to our sponsors, 6D
Ranch, Jen Mar Arabians, and Nancy Branch, it was financially accessible to all our
exhibitors. While our club's focus is to benefit and nurture our local club members and
trainers, we also welcomed several trainers from around the state, and we had a wide
array of classes. You can see some great professional photos by Genie Images linked
on our web page: www.ctaha.org/the-lone-star-classic.html.
We owe the success of our show to our volunteer staff, our judges, our sponsors, and
our wonderful club members and their beautiful horses! Thank you so much, and we look
forward to next year!

showmanship, trail, western pleasure, hunter and ranch horse. Ranch classes are open to
all breeds using AQHA rules and patterns. This is a fast growing division for exhibitors to
show off their horses ability rather than fancy saddles and tack. The facility, San Patricio
County Fairgrounds, is state of the art, with Big A.. fans, 200 stalls, wash racks, covered
warm-up area, and 30 RV-Hook ups at the stall barn. We hire carded judges and our
volunteers keep the show running on time.
We are in our 8th year sponsoring Wild Horse Tales Literacy (formerly The Black Stallion
Literacy) program in Bee County working with first grade students, and continue giving
our graduating High School Scholarship in memory of Gerald & Louise Donoghue. We
are a very family-oriented, friendly group, so we invite you to attend our shows and
consider us when you renew your AHA membership.
