Through our partnership with Leica Geosystems we are helping our customers to: • Increase productivity • Reduce costs • Increased fuel efficiency • Improve health and safety • Complete projects on time and on budget With machine control the site engineer can remotely send data to and from the control box and provide remote assistance when required, removing the need for the engineer to travel the site on foot. The in-cab supervisor tool provides the site engineer real-time data from the field, providing accurate information to make smarter and faster decisions to optimise fleet use, improve efficiency and increase productivity. For the operator, machine control systems use technology to guide and control machinery which means operators can accurately direct and position the machine to work more accurately and precisely – optimising material usage and reducing operating costs. Machine control further reduces the need for people to work in and around the equipment removing staff away from dangerous areas. Machine control is just one example of Hawk using innovation to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our customer’s operation. Through our in-house training centre we can also provide demonstrations and training on machine control systems. INNOVATION SUSTAINABILITY SAFETY QUALITY Hawk Core Values INNOVATION TRAINING & ENVIRONMENT DEVELOPMENT • Pioneering technology • Working today... for tomorrow • Safety First • Committed to excellence • Consider, respect, care • People are at the heart of our business • Being a good corporate citizen COMMUNITY Pioneering technology Technology has the potential to transform the way we work and we have long embraced new technology as a route towards becoming a safer, more efficient and better organisation. An example of this is machine control technology which – through our partnership with Leica Geosystems – we have been leading the industry in the use of for over five years. Through the use of onboard machine control systems we are able to make our machines and the projects we work on: • • • Safer More productive More efficient In June 2011 the UK government published its BIM (Business Information Modelling) strategy, announcing its intention to require collaborative 3D BIM (with all project and asset information, documentation and data being electronic) on its projects by 2016. With just two years to go, BIM will have more and more of an impact on the construction and engineering industries and our background of adopting the latest technology means that Hawk Group are well placed to adopt BIM working practices both for our customers and our own operations.
