Colorectal Health Care Access Program Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital’s Colorectal Health Care Access Program is for uninsured men and women. Patients accepted into the program will receive all screening, treatment and follow-up care at no cost. To qualify for the program, you must: •Be uninsured •Never had a colonoscopy before •Be over the age of 50 or over the age of 40 with a family history (mother, father, sibling) •Live in Roslindale, Jamaica Plain, Hyde Park or West Roxbury Program partners include: •Gastroenterology Associates at Faulkner • Anesthesia Associates of Massachusetts • Braintree Laboratories, Inc. • Brigham and Women’s Department of Pathology • Brigham and Women’s Department of Radiology • Brigham and Women’s Department of Surgery • Sullivan’s Pharmacy, Roslindale Of cancers that affect both men and women, colorectal cancer— cancer of the colon or rectum—is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States. Screening can find precancerous growths so they can be removed before they turn into cancer. Screening also finds colorectal cancer early, when treatment works best.
