Jim discovered multiple problems common in all vehicles; a midbass hump, a steep high frequency roll off and reduced bass response. This research lead to adding Punch EQ to Rockford Fosgate amps to help correct the acoustical deficiencies found in the automotive listening environment. The new Punch EQ2 is an on-board equalization circuit that when set to Low-Pass (LP) operation, becomes a variable Bass Boost. When set to High-Pass (HP) operation, it acts as a variable Mid-Bass and Treble Boost. When set to All Pass (AP) operation, both Bass and Treble frequencies are boosted.
