In the following 40 years expansion have been very slow as our country passed through the first and the second World Wars; things started to evolve in the period between 1950 and 1960: economy in Italy came to new life, new constructions was increasing, economic wellbeing was spreading through the population. The small, provincial city of Reggio Emilia, began to grow up and gain importance and identity. In the meantime the company ownership passed from the founder Amedeo to his heirs. 1967-1990 By the 1967 the actual directors, Franco and Giorgio Bertani, entered the company. They were in their twenties and in just few years they became the owners of the company. The headquarter of the company was moved into a bigger location and the name was changed to Bertani S.n.c. New products were added to the offer like sanitary fittings, pipes, radiators. The company bought the first forklift truck and the first truck and started making deliveries. In 1981 a small showroom was set up. It is one of the first showrooms in Italy, despite of the company was still very small. From the very beginning we believed that the bathroom is not only a matter of plumbing but has to do with customer choice, design, project. During the following years business speeded up very quickly. In 1989 we moved to the actual headquarter, a 5.000 sq.m building. Turnover was approximately 10 billion lira, that corresponded approximately to 5 million euro. 1990-2000 From 1990 to 2000 the company expanded its territory with the opening of several branches, each with a retail store and a showroom. As the company growed and get structured, we could clearly define its dual soul. Part of the business is offering a wide choice of technical products for plumbers, professionals and builders. While the other part of the business is offering design products for the bathroom (furniture, sanitary, accessories, tiles) to all private customers, contractors, and architects. Products are presented in large and elegant showrooms and bathroom design is implemented by qualified consultants. Both the technical and the showroom departments of the company offer high level of service along with the products: project development, on site inspection, after sale support and assistance, consulting on law requirements and prescriptions. In 1996 Bertani become a joint stock company and the name changhed into Bertani S.p.A. A new building was added to the headquarter, increasing storage space and hosting a 2,500 sq.m brand new showroom. In 1996 Bertani joined 5 similar companies in the northern Italy for a strategic commercial alliance and founded the Intesa Group, based in Piacenza. Intesa signed group agreements with producers achieving best commercial conditions. A central storage in Piacenza helps members exchange products and keeps stocks of common items. Intesa developed is’t own brands for contract: Baden Masters for bathroom products, Tecno Masters for technical products. Intesa S.r.l. if fully owned by the companies of the group it represents. In the following years the group will grow up to 8 companies. Today Mr. Franco Bertani is president of the Intesa Group; the cumulated turnover of the companies participating is more than 214 milion euro. In 1999 The company was certified for the ISO 9002 Quality System by the certifying agency DET NORSKE VERITAS. Later (in 2005) the certification was extended to the ISO 9001/2000 standard. 2000-2010 Starting 2000 we introduced tiles, floors, wood-floors, mosaic and surfaces in general for the private house, officies, pubblic spaces; indoor and outdoor. On site installation service is offered to customers and contractors. In 2004 the Sassuolo branch moved to the new Fiorano Modenese location. Architect Giampaolo Benedini designed the sales point’s large showroom, adopting innovative approaches to present and display the bathroom furnishing and space. The Fiorano showroom is still considered one of the most elegant and innovative showrooms in Italy. In 2009 Bertani S.p.A. is selected among over 80 compeeting companies and wins the “Best Showroom Award 2009” during a ceremony at Cersaie in the class “Best service to customers”. Expansion of the territory is made by the opening of further branches. The technical department introduces systems for the use of renewable energy and renewable resources. Between 2004 and 2005 Tecnica Commerciale Termoidraulica Spa was founded with the first sales point in Sardinia. The company was founded on 29 October 2004 and co-owned by the local businessman C. Cossu. The business on the island is successfull due to the synergy between Bertani’s organization-commercial strenght and Cossu’s knowledge of the local market. The company expanded in the following years with the opening of two more branches and acquiring supply for important contracts. Between 2000 and 2010 the company acquired supplies abroad and exports’ frequency increased through Switzerland, England, France, East Europe, Middle East. Today. In 2010 the showroom in London, in the heart of the City, is opened, operated by Bertani London Ltd. 5 milestones 1916 The business opened under the name Bertani Amedeo as a small shop in the center of Reggio Emilia that retailed sanitary products. 1916-1967 The business’s ownership passed down to the founder’s heirs and it expanded, moved its headquarters and changed its name to Bertani S.n.c. 1981 The first small showroom was opened. 1989 Moved to 5,000 sq. m. large current headquarters. Turnover was approximately 10 billion lira. 1994 The first branch was opened in Parma. 1996 The new showroom was built near the headquarters. The showroom area covered 2,500 sq. m. and was designed by architect Helen Rainey. Bertani became a Joint Stock Company. Its second branch opened in Modena. The Intesa Srl company was founded with 5 other retailers of sanitary and heating materials active in different parts of northern Italy. The company’s objective is to centralize and optimize purchases from shared suppliers. In the following years, a central warehouse was purchased in Piacenza, the BadenMaster and TecnoMaster brand product lines were developed and marketed, more companies entered the group. 1998 The sales point in Sassuolo opened. 1999 The company was certified for the ISO 9002 Quality System by the certifying agency DET NORSKE VERITAS. That is why it is important to choose every single feature of this environment with care. Because the contours of a basin, the chrome of a tap, the roar of water produced by a geyser or the hot embrace of a hammam can produce effects capable of transcending the simple functions for which they were designed and shape an environment in which it is possible to relax and become aware again of one’s own emotions and desires. bathroom furniture Innovation, research, new materials, design: these are key concepts in today’s bathroom furniture production from the most awarded and acknowledged brands on the market like Agape, Antonio Lupi, Boffi, Devon&Devon, Idea Group, Toscoquattro. showers How many songs and poems have been inspired by rain? And how many states of mind can it arouse? From the most unbridled joy to the most agonising melancholy: a simple downpour can unleash the entire range of emotions. Emotions which can now be recreated in the intimacy of your shower. faucets taps mixers Controlling water. Determining its flow, setting its temperature. Mixers are one of the central features in the bathroom environment, both from the strictly functional point of view and because of their purely evocative “power”. bath tubs To immerse oneself at the most intimate times of the day, dedicated to ourselves, in the emotions created by water with its vibrations, running, reflections ... its regenerating power. Functions and shapes which lead to a feeling of entire well-being, where both body and mind are at their most intensely harmonious. sanitary fittings The present offer of sanitary fittings in ceramic offers a very wide choice; under the modern concept, sanitary fittings are put into the bathroom on line with the style and taste of their context, thus increasing their value. marble and natural stones “Le Acque” washbasin (in the picture) designed by Claudio Silvestrin for Toscoquattro is made from a solid block of marble. The Po bathtub, from Boffi, is in a solid block of Bihara stone. The Opium washbasin, designed by Carlo Colombo for Antonio Lupi, is made of moonstone. These are just three examples where large companies, not just belonging to the bathroom sector, have made use of the vast world of minerals to achieve the most disparate offers of home furnishings: flooring, coating, stairs, bathtubs or shower trays in marble, granite, slate, amethyst, peperino (a volcanic tuff ), travertine or labradorite. Besides their natural beauty, stones have shown great flexibility in use and the possibility for infinite processing: offered in slabs, tiles or mosaic they can bring to life rigorous, monochrome lines or lines which are soft and richly decorated. hydromassage Hydromassage is a relaxing, regenerating practice which acts on the physical and psychological level. That is why it has to be perfectly calibrated to the individual’s personal disposition. As it has a relaxing effect, the best time to do it is after having been involved in a sporting activity or before going to sleep. Optimal temperature is 37 C° for a massage lasting 15/20 minutes. maxi-jacuzzi Conceived from hydromassage bathtubs larger than the standard, of variable shape and size, capable of holding up to eight people and available in built-in, semi-built-in or overflow versions. These are hydrospas (or maxi-jacuzzis): solutions for private or professional use devoted to bodily wellbeing and equipped with nozzles and openings capable of offering both the functions of a normal hydromassage, and others with more specifically therapeutic intentions. Hydrospas have an operating system which is entirely similar to that of normal swimming pools, and use one system for independent heating and another for water filtration and recycling which make it unnecessary to empty them after each use. outdoor fittings Indoor and outdoor. A clear separation which today, thanks to trademarks such as Roda and Dedon, becomes much more softened. The outside products of the two brands, in fact, express a different, innovative concept of furnishings, centred on the possibility of enjoying open spaces through collections with considerable design content. No longer rigid distinctions between In fittings (at a high level of design) and Out fittings (nothing more than functional): the lines proposed by Roda and Dedon use materials and fabrics which, besides performing and being able to resist the most adverse of climactic conditions, can claim an absolutely important aesthetic dimension. doors sliding systems walk in closets bookcases complements The philosophy underlying all Rimadesio’s products results into linear projects, where simplicity of the starting concept gives rise to creations of unquestionable scenic impact married to the relevant technical skill. The architectural worth of Rimadesio’s creations, whilst strong and pregnant, is never stressed but, rather, tends to immateriality. In this sense, the Siparium system of sliding walls in glass and aluminium is striking. Designed by Giuseppe Bavuso, it can always be made to measure starting from the dimensions of the opening. An outstanding example of the very high level of technique and aesthetics which the company has achieved. lightning The intangible beauty of light. Davide Groppi’s research attempts to plumb this suggestion, creating minimal, rigorous products which, without cumbersome superstructures, manage to return to light the natural beauty belonging to it: the trademark does not design lighting bodies, it aspires to design light. Davide Groppi presently consists of a collective of designers specialising in creating architecture for interiors and temporary fittings. Independent light is the motif around which the entire production revolves, marked by a language which is deliberately reduced and essential, where purity and imagination intermingle to become essential components of the group’s philosophy. t i l e s floors s l a b s mosaic surfaces Glazes, China clay, glass, paintings. And particularly porcelain stoneware. These materials offer fertile ground for the experimental talent of the most up-to-date designers. Porcelain stoneware (gres) can range from the largest sizes (even slabs of 120x120 cm), to the smallest (micro-tesserae of 5x5 mm which can be used to create surfaces without any break in continuity), whilst special processes (in filigrain, with a patchwork effect or, again, by using stucco to tone or contrast) bring to life textures and tactile effects of considerable decorative importance. technical|division pipes valves circulators pumps boilers floor-ceiling-wall panels air conditioning ventilation insulation water treatment rainwater recovery renevable energy 44 technical|brands union 45 contract|division 48 contract|brands 49 contract We supply a wide and versatile range of products for large projects with very competitive prices.
