Why: Get fit PLUS help GMS win money
for new gym equipment. GMS receives $250 if we get 100+ students
to register. We receive an additional
$500 if we get the highest percentage of students to register.
Registration: You can register online at
www.sportsbackers.org, or by filling
out the form inside the official race
brochure and returning it to Eagle's
Peak. You must write down
Goochland Middle School on
your form (not GMS). Deadline is
Tuesday March 23rd.

Healthy School Challenge!
Here’s a simple and exciting way for you to
raise funds for new GMS gym equipment.
The Healthy School Challenge awards prize
money to middle and high schools with the
highest percentage of participation based on
total school enrollment.
Walkers Welcome
Free meal at Eagle
Café for fastest boy
and girl in the school
You don’t think you can run 6.2 miles? No
problem! Walkers are welcome! You can
even train for the event with the YMCA
Training Team to make sure you’re ready.
YMCA 10K Training Team
• If over 100 students register, then
GMS will automatically receive $250!
What do YOU get for registering?
• The school with the highest percentage of participation wins $500!
• Gym teachers are giving EXTRA CREDIT to
all participants. All you have to do is register
and run!
• The school can win up to $750!!!
• Students get a chance to EAT FOR FREE at
the Eagle Café.....but you must be very fast!
This money will be used to replace old gym
equipment at GMS and YOU can help make
this happen. Sign up today!
• Students who run are entered into a RAFFLE
for a gift basket full of Eagle’s Peak merchandise (worth $25!)
• Students who bring
their registration
form to Eagle’s Peak
will receive 2 FREE
high-top shoe erasers.
The Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k has
partnered with the Richmond-area YMCAs
to organize a 10-week training program
for runners and walkers that begins on
January 16, 2010.
