Meeting called to order by President, Brandon Novak: 7:01pm b. Board Member Attendees: Brandon Novak, President; Darrell Erb, Secretary; Kim Christensen, Treasurer; Dave Hook, Kathi VanDeVere, Reed Andries, Golf Club Manager Tasia Dass, and Golf Club Superintendent Lance Tykwinski. Absent: Jeff Hansen, Vice President – Came in mid meeting. c. Member Attendees: 21 club members were in attendance 2. Review of the Meeting agenda. 3. Minutes from October 24, 2013 Annual Meeting a. Minutes reviewed by attendees. i. Motion to approve: Jim Miranowski ii. Second: Bob Sichmiller iii. Motion carried by Membership 4. Financials Review a. Kim C. reviewed financial statements for the year and discussed … b. 46k increase in revenue from last year c. 33k increase in expenses from last year d. Membership in general was up e. Pro shop sales were up f. Green fees up a little bit g. Food sales up h. Increase sales come additional expenses – beer cart introduction 3-4 full days a week and weekends i. No comments from the group – Kim requested i. Motion to approve: Jim Miranowski ii. Second: Kelly Dybdahl iii. Motion carried by Membership 5. Events Held in 2013-2014 were reviewed. a. There were 57 events held at TGC during the season. b. Of those, 12 were weddings, 11 were tournaments, 10 were private events, 13 were business & public events, and 11 were company meetings. c. This number is up from the prior year, mainly due to more private events. d. Events scheduled for next season Wedding receptions up from last year e. Tournaments stayed consistent at 12/year f. Introduced the one person best ball tournament g. Introduced Elk nation golf tournament h. Added back in the Knotty Pine tournament – Resulted in 54 people 3|Page i. j. k. l. m. n. o. Private events increasing – not just receptions, work meetings Would like to see more local business events Planning a golf kickoff event in March – Trent to discuss Work meetings in November of 2014 – No comments on events Employee recognition – see list in packet Recognition from Tasia to her employees 6. Introduction of Employees a. Employees of the clubs grounds crew and clubhouse were recognized and thanked for their efforts for the year. - Grounds Crew: Lance Tykwinski (Superintendent), Jim Miranowski, Leon Sorenson, Melvin Voss, Jason McNamara, River Lawson, Creston Dalle, and Kenton Stanek - Clubhouse Employees: Tasia Dass (Manager), Natalie Madsen, Casey Goodmund, Samantha Neyens, Courtney Mensen, Keri Bloom, Katie Bakker, Bridgit Kirsh, Shirley Luce, Brett Vercruysse, Heidi Schroepfer, Jasi Borman, Brant Etrheim, Brianna Stanek, Nicole Enemark, Wendy Landers, Lexi Rieder, Liz Risacher, Mary-Diane Stanek, Britany Moser, and Michelle Holter. - Clubhouse Event Staff: Caitlin Vermaat, Melissa Kor, Casey Goodmund, Brittany Venekamp, Chelsey Gravley, and Chelsey Jackson. 7. Introduction of Board Members a. Introduction of board members was made and noted members whose terms were up for election. Course Projects Completed in 2014 Lance a. Introduced his crew – see list in packet b. Reviewed list of improvements and achievements on the course c. Added irrigation on CRP over on hole 6 d. Clean up trees around waterfall – reclaim it from getting over grown e. Appreciation recognition to his employees for keeping up with the excessive mowing that was accomplished this year f. Discussed improvement to holes 11 and 13 g. Work was completed on 10-22-14 – Wally C. h. Thanks to everyone that helped out at the course this year 4|Page Summary of Improvements/Maintenance: New cut boulder tee box markers & legacy benches and new landscaping around items Added irrigation to CRP for future nursery Cleaned up trees around waterfall and in front of 12 tee box Added youth tee markers Re-sloped 2 tee box Edged sand traps Aerated fairways on top and bottom Aerated greens New entrance cut boulder signs New layout of course cut boulder sign Summary of Clubhouse Projects: Purchased 15 new tables for the Banquet Hall in order to accommodate larger events. Created online website for members and non-members to order clothing with TGC Logo through Borch’s Sporting Goods in Marshall Equipment Summary: New fleet of carts New range balls New pyramid stackers 9. 2014 Golf Achievement Recognition Awards a. Recognition out to John and Margie Bornhoft for their contribution of the youth tees and they continued dedication to keep our youth interested in golf. g. Tee markers – locations – how they work and that they have established slope and rating. 14. Election of New Directors a. On the ballot: Brandon Novak, Jerry Fury, and Jon Schreurs b. No additions to the ballot c. Vote was conducted amongst those present and the two receiving the most votes and elected to the board were Brandon Novak and Jon Schreurs 15. General Club Discussion a.
