At a rate of 20 individual images per second, the human brain is slow to detect movements. If more than 20 images per second are displayed, the human eye turns this sequence into a film. If a fly were to sit in front of the television, it wouldn’t see a film, it would see a slow sequence of individual static images. This also helps the fly to keep avoiding the hands that try to grab it. In contrast to humans, flies can take in around 200 images per second. Video-based motion analysis Using video technology and special software, professional motion analysis systems adapt this form of vision. There are a wide range of technical options for generating reproducible images which are objective for several observers. Cameras in mobile phones, tablets and HD camcorders can generally already take in significantly more than 25 images per second. The best option for the quantitative recording of images of complex, rapid motions is high-speed cameras which can record up to 125 frames per second. 3 www.streifeneder.com/op ortho.lab PRO.vision TWIN PRO.vision 2D PRO.vision 3D Software for video-based motion analysis (without LED marker technology) 2D motion analysis system based on LED marker technology 3D motion analysis system based on LED marker technology Recording by existing standard/HD camera or by high-speed cameras Recording by high-speed camera Recording by two high-speed cameras 5 www.streifeneder.com/op The supply network – support for various professional groups PRO.vision offers a wide range of possible uses for our partners involved in the supply network and can promote interdisciplinary collaboration as a central element. The system follows markers placed on the patient using a high-speed camera and provides the results live with the option for these to be presented in a PDF report. This means analyses can be carried out very quickly – the process lasts no more than five minutes from preparation through to the creation of a report. If necessary the data can be further processed in MS Excel. The software is self-explanatory and easy to use. It is easy to upgrade from PRO.vision 2D to PRO.vision 3D as necessary. 14 www.streifeneder.com/op PRO.vision 2D Functions •• •• •• •• •• •• •• •• •• recording the gait in measurable data immediate display of the measurement values in live images real-time evaluation and direct feedback on the movement pattern measurement of angles by means of the automatic connection of coloured LED markers for the fastest possible motion evaluation large number of pre-defined reports for individual needs e.g. sagittal left/right gait analysis) the reports contain a comparison of the standard/actual situation in table form and function graphics (based on data from Jacquelin Perry) live equalisation of the video image direct comparison based on reference values of healthy people live biofeedback with audio output when the movement is outside of a defined range 15 www.streifeneder.com/op How does PRO.vision 2D work? Measurement procedure 1. Position the camera 2. Attach the LED markers to the patient 3. Start the measurement 4. View video and data 5. Generate and print the report 16 The report •• enables quick and objective advice to be given to the customer •• can be forwarded to colleagues for further support or treatment •• is the optimal documentation both in-house and for payers Special features of the report in PRO.vision 2D The reports in PRO.vision 2D are perfectly tailored to individual needs and enable, among other things: •• 2D sagittal left/right gait analysis •• 2D frontal left/right gait analysis •• 2D frontal gait analysis on both sides •• 2D frontal left/right running analysis •• 2D sagittal left/right running analysis •• left/right bike reports www.streifeneder.com/op Example report PRO.vision 2D www.streifeneder.com/op Bio-feedback Through innovative livemarker recognition, PRO.vision 2D offers the possibility of using so-called bio-feedback. When the user performs a movement outside a set range (e.g. a squat, hip angle from the front or knee angle from sagittal), a signal sounds. Bio-feedback, the technical feedback about the body’s own processes, helps the user to be aware of wrong patterns of moving, which he often does not perceive via his own senses. 18 Using a sound signal (movement is wrong) or a signal that does not sound (movement is correct), the user receives acoustic information as to which movement has to be corrected. Movements can be repeated multiple times in order to internalise the learning process. www.streifeneder.com/op Execution: •• produce own measurement •• set movement range •• attach markers •• start recording •• perform movement 19 www.streifeneder.com/op PRO.vision 3D Movement analysis system to record 3D data with automatic recognition of LED markers using two high-speed cameras Using the latest 3D software and two high-speed cameras, in addition to individual gait analyses (sagittal, frontal and dorsal), dynamic motion analyses of the spine (including rotation of the hips and individual segments of the spine) can be carried out precisely in just a few minutes. Two calibrated cameras are used to process data in 3D. Using this data, parameters can be measured parallel in 3D without having to install cameras in every level. The measurement is carried out in the same way as with PRO.vision 2D. The difference is that just one calibration of the cameras has to be carried out before the measurement can be taken. This step is carried out using a special calibration board which is positioned in front of the camera. The software calculates the position of both cameras relative to one another, equalises the edge areas in the camera image and thereby achieves significantly higher measurement accuracy. PRO.vision 3D is portable, very user-friendly and can also be used as a 2D system. 20 0° 20° www.streifeneder.com/op 35° PRO.vision 3D The functions are the same as those for PRO.vision 2D but with valuable additional options: •• 3D/4D spinal analysis (4D technology: 3D plus the dimension of time) •• 3D reports for sagittal and frontal measurements •• most rapid system on the market (marker detection using coloured LED markers) •• only system in the world with the simple measurement of dynamic rotations using 3D technology based on the coloured LED marker technique •• rapid and simple connection of high-speed cameras (up to 100 images/second) •• rapid, innovative calibration (The software calculates the position of both cameras relative to one another, equalises the edge areas in the camera image and thereby achieves significantly higher measurement accuracy.) 21 www.streifeneder.com/op How does PRO.vision 3D work?
