Bulletin BPI 04-03 Subject: Brake Hardware Clip Position Vehicle Involved: 1998-2002 1998-2002 1999-2001 1998-2002 Chrysler Concorde Chrysler LHS Chrysler 300M Dodge Intrepid Condition: The spring type hardware components pictured below help to return the brake pads to their resting position. Often omitted after front brake pad service, the clips easily fall out during disassembly. We recommend replacing these hardware spring clips and rubber caliper pin boots when replacing the front disc pads. Repeated cycles of heat and cold fatigue these components, premature pad wear and noise may result. Caliper hardware kit # H5656 is available as pictured. Note the position of the spring clip. The spring clip is held in place by the ends of the brake pad. The spring clip is designed to help reduce outer and inner brake pad to rotor contact when the brakes are released.
