We spent two nights at the Post Hotel,
rented the Whitehorn Cabin (#101),
right on the river. The cabin was suitable for two, but some people might
find it a bit cramped, but was perfect
for us. It was cozy and we enjoyed
the in-room fireplace, and being able
to go to sleep to the sound of the Bow
river rushing by right outside our window. The staff was very friendly and

the most magical place. You feel like

RIMROCK RESORT HOTEL
My wife and I are regular guests at the
Rimrock Hotel. Over the last few years
we have come to know many of the
staff there and they treat us like family.
The setting high on the hill and the
quality of the facilities makes for a very
enjoyable stay. I can recommend dining at the Larkspur Lounge on the reception level, the food is just fantastic

POST HOTEL & SPA
We enjoyed an early anniversary celebration dinner at the Post Hotel. The
meal was outstanding and the service
was 5-star. Huge fine wine collection.
I enjoyed the Caribou Striploin and my
wife enjoyed the Halibut. Both were
outstanding. Andre stopped by to
make sure we were enjoying our meal
and we enjoyed our conversation with

Have been going to banff for years,
but our first time here.
parking can be a bit of an issue if there
is something happening at the arts
centre, but worth the trouble and a
little walk if needed

FESTIVAL CALENDAR
Montreal is a city of festivals regardless of
the time of year. Domestic and international
tourists flock to see the city come alive at
the International Jazz Festival in June/July
Canadian summer. The largest jazz festival
in the world, it hosts 3,000 jazz musicians.
Also in June, Les Francofolies de Montreal
celebrates the French-speaking music world
in a 10-day celebration. In winter, Igloofest is
an electronic music festival featuring local
and international DJs.
MONTREAL CUISINE
Montreal has the highest number of
restaurants per capita in North America,
and a variety of local and international
dishes. Try the popular Quebec creation
‘poutine’, which is a unique dish made of
French fries, brown gravy sauce and cheese.
While more of a fast food option than fine
dining, poutine is native to this region
and rarely recreated well in other parts
of North America. Top places for poutine
include Garde Manger for lobster poutine;
Frite Alors for 17 different sauces; and La
Banquise for 30 different poutine varieties.
MOUNT ROYAL PARK
This 200-hectare park surrounding the
city’s highest peak attracts more than 3

We returned to try their spring menu.
We tasted both the vegetarian and
tasting menu. They were very accommodating with choices and asked if
any of the diners had allergies. What
a feast, everything we tasted was just

LE CLUB CHASSE ET PECHE
We celebrated our wedding anniversary here. They have great service, food
and drinks! The decor is unique in that
there are multiple rooms that have a
few tables each. The Blonde beer was
the best beer I've had.
We had oysters with charisma, which
were 6 oysters cooked in 3 different
ways. They were fresh and delicious.
We also had the braised piglet risotto
with high expectations, but it was

number. From that point on, it was

Great hotel if you're overnighting in

We went for a spa day at the hotel and
although the pool and massage therapists were fine, we found the staff at
the front desk to be rude and childish.
One of them took the receipt which
noted the gratuity and showed it to
the two others next to her and started
laughing uncontrollably. Really? This is
how you treat your customers that just
paid over $300 for a couples massage?
It's not mandatory to tip and it's certainly not acceptable to behave...

Drake Hotel is absolutely fantastic.
Jonathan is the most helpful host you
could ask for, I let him know we were
on honeymoon and he made every effort to make our stay extra special. The
rooms are quirky, cool and comfortable. Brunch in the bar was fantastic
and the bars and cafes in he vicinity
make this a great area to stay.

sacraficed my points of staying at
my usual hotel because it's just so
luxurious. The rooms are modern and
classy and the bed is very comfortable.
The glasses in the room even have the

Abigail's is a small quaint hotel located
about a ten minute walk up from the
harbor and downtown Victoria. Beautiful, Victorian furnishings in the common areas, Particularly in the library,
were special. Our room was large,
clean and very well appointed. Some
rooms there come with fireplaces, ours
did not, but we were very please with
our king sized room. The service and

Our room was very nice. We had a
corner room which gave you two great
window views. I did like the separate
shower and tub plus you had enough
room on the bathroom vanity to put
your personal things. We did have a
problem checking in. They told us we
had only booked one night not two,
that we would have to find another night for the next day. later that
evening they rearranged rooms so we
could stay another night in the same
room.

I made a phone reservation months
ahead, asking for a really nice room
for our 50th anniversary. I booked the
one she said was the best even tho’ I
was taken aback to hear that my credit
card would immediately be charged
$621 CAD (room price plus tax) and
that, if I cancelled within 15 days of
our stay, I would receive no refund
whatsoever.
Check-in was not good. All the staff
we saw was young, amateurish and
confused....

Phenomenal resort: we stayed in a
cabin and it was well equipped, clean,
and beautifully situated. We rented
a 2 bedroom cabin and stayed there
with another couple. Only steps to the
beach, and with a private hot-tub...
how could you go wrong?! The staff
were friendly and insightful from the
moment we checked in. Super close to
downtown Tofino and all the fabulous
eats there.
Can not wait to come back!

This is an inconspicuous little gem in
the sweet town of Qualicum Beach.
We were staying nearby for our anniversary the day after Mother's Day. At
the last moment we called and were
very lucky to get a reservation. We
both had the special halibut dinner.
The meal was more than delicious...
fresh and cooked to perfection! The
dessert, a vanilla creme brûlée was the
perfect finish. Wait staff very friendly
but did not hover...easy to engage wi...

NORWOODS RESTAURANT
There really isn't much to review with
respect to Norwoods. The food is
absolutely superb. Certainly the very
best in the Pacific Rim area, perhaps
the Island.
The offerings are uniquely prepared
and make it somewhat difficult to
make a decision.
Small, intimate and relaxing. The service was excellent. Our server actually
used a metal pointer to describe what
was on our plates.

twice in May 2016 and had a mixed
experience both times. The first time
I ordered a salad with flash fried
tuna and smoked tuna and the salad
was delicious but I found the tuna
flavorless; I was traveling on business
and asked for a receipt which was
promised but never produced. I asked
on my second visit if I could have the
salad with the tuna well-done or with
salmon but...

some novel flavours including, lavender
honey. Currently, they can't showcase
all of their flavours so feel free to ask
what they don't have on display! Best
ice cream I have had in a long while!
